Best car buying experience

This was my first time visiting this dealership. They are very down to earth shop that make the car buying experience enjoyable. Its a no pressure environment with a wide selection of vehicles. Will definitely recommend these guys and will go back again.

New Car

Just picked up my new E400 and love it. The process was extremely easy and quick which is hugely refreshing. I highly recommend Smith Imports.

Went by looked at a car felt that it was a good deal. Drive the 2008 S550 Mechanically seemed to be good. After second test drive I put a down payment on the vehicle. I found that it had some small problems with the vehicle. actually felt since being a previous satisfied customer this would not be an issue. spoke to Paula about the pockets on rear of both front seats. they were torn on the outer corners on both seats. the center console had ink all over it and the right rear speaker was busted. Paula agreed to have it looked at by the body shop. With only to come back and say they would only remove the ink. I ask to speak to Andy(the owner) who called me on the phone and left a message stating how stupid I was and that he with out checking the vehicle first was not going to repair anything. Because I was stupid. To turn the stereo up. I feeling very let down called him back. and he repeated what he said. but agreed to look at the vehicle, telling me he had a dealer waiting to purchase the vehicle in little rock. he stated he fix his cars no matter the cost, but returned saying he would not repair the vehicle. I realized that he wanted to dump the vehicle on another dealer and loose me as a stupid customer. I am very let down as a repeat customer who has sent many of my friends there. But never again. They maybe stupid just like me. When we lose focus of our customers we lose focus of everything!!!!!!

George, I am sorry that this car transaction did not work out for you. This vehicle was a very nice and attractively priced 2008 S550. You are correct in the fact that there was an ink mark on the rear seat console which we removed and the rear seat magazine straps were loose which we were not replacing. However, there was no issue whatsoever with the stereo system as you insisted. First, I did not call YOU stupid. I do think it is stupid for somebody to think they can turn the bass all the way up and the volume all the way up and then complain that there is distortion coming from the rear speakers. We did return your deposit to you and we did have others wanting to purchase this vehicle. The person purchasing this vehicle was made aware of your concerns which they could not duplicate either. Again, I am sorry this did not work out for you and maybe in the future we can try to help you again. Andy Smith

Exceptional buying experience!

At the end of July 2014 - after researching GL550's for nearly 6 months - I knew exactly what I was looking for, which was a used 2014 Lunar Blue Metallic with a light interior. My local Denver area dealer attempted to talk me into a 2012 G63 - nope, not for me! Since the local dealer wasn't listening I decided to let Google do the work for me. I found exactly what I was looking for on Smith Imports website. The following Monday I called and spoke with Paula who is simply one of the nicest car people I've ever worked with! By Tuesday evening I was completely financed. Thursday evening I arrived Memphis on a late flight (book a room at the nearby Marriott and use the shuttle service - nice hotel and nice people). Friday morning Paula picked me up at the hotel. Talk about awesome service. My Big Blue Bus (aka Blue) was waiting for me when we arrived. I was so excited to get behind the wheel and take her for a test drive that I could barely contain myself. The vehicle had just over 11k miles and unless you looked at the odometer you would never had known it was used - let alone a branded title vehicle. During the test drive Paula answered all of my questions without hesitation. She knows her vehicles and is proud to cell MB, which came through during the time we spent conversing about them. After completing my test drive and walkaround inspection Paula took me to see Rick to sign for Blue. I'm 100% certain I've never had a more enjoyable financing process. Thanks Rick! Prior to arriving in Memphis I decided not to have my vehicle transported back to Denver. I wanted to drive it to get to know it. The drive was meant to be a 2-day journey, but around Stillwater, OK I realized I wasn't ready to call it a night. Instead I continued on my journey and arrived home in the wee hours on Saturday. Why am I sharing this information? The GL550 Paula sold me is just that comfortable and safe! I drove for hours on end through 100+ degree heat and happily enjoyed the comfy ventilated seats with lumbar massage (will never own another vehicle without those features) and my water bottle stayed nice in cold in the cooling cup holders. The Harmon Kardon sound system is amazing. Blue's super quiet V8 bi-turbo engine rolled like the boss ride she is through 3 straight hours of torrential rains in the Colorado plains. I never once felt unsafe or uncomfortable. Bottom line: I absolutely recommend Smith Imports. Call and ask for Paula and if you need financing Rick will take care of you.

2012 Mercedes SLK 350

I knew what I wanted and had been searching the Internet for weeks before the car I wanted became available at Smith's 70 miles from me and I knew the price was right and it would sell quickly. Due to other commitment I couldn't pick the car up for three weeks so I had to make a substantial deposit based only on photos. I was nervous about that but reassured by the fact they had been in business a long time and the positive reviews. I dealt with Jim Leport and he was very straight forward and inspired confidence that I was dealing with a high quality company. The car was ready and immaculate. Jim was very patient in orienting my wife and I to the car's technology even though it was his lunchtime. Completing the transaction was a very welcome contrast to our recent experience with dealerships-no pressure,no unexpected charges,no delays. Out in twenty minutes. Papers for title and registration arrived correctly completed less than a week later. Absolutely the best car buying experience of my life. Highly recommended.

great cars friendly service , very honest

My husband and I drove 5hours to Smith Import to trade in our 2008 clk350 for a E350. The trade in was a fair price. our sales Lady Tres was wonderful!! Mr. Andy smith very down to earth guy, fair and honest.. The receponist was even nice, I think it was her second week but she was very good at her job.. Rick was straight to the point when it came to financing, very honest place to buy a car. we love smith imports!!!! Herbert and Kristy Taylor : ))
