CarMax Merrillville

I bought a 2022 Subaru Forester from CarMax in Merrillville with a known issue with the front camera. I have now returned to the service department three times to get this fixed. The service manager, Diego is nice, too bad he is the only one. I was promised a loaner car, however I have been sitting here for more than half an hour waiting on that loaner. Do not buy a car from here if you want to be treated with respect.

Bought two cars from carmax in the past both times was a great experience. I’m currently in the market for a car and decided to give them a try again. Their customer service and quality of decent used cars has significantly declined. Had a car shipped to my local carmax dealership with intentions on buying but was extremely disappointed when seeing the car in person. Car had so many dents and cosmetic issues in it which was not included in the description of the car. When I pointed them out to the salesmen he responded “well it is used”. I walked around the lot hoping I would see something else, nope barely any inventory and most of them had cosmetic issues. Wasted money on shipping because of course it’s no refundable.

Was ok . just couldnt find what was in my budget . needed something for around 1500 cash without a lot of major issues. Since my credit needs help getting cleared up and the fact im not working i wouldnt be able to afford payments

Alexandra help us solved our problem, We had to sell Grandmas Car without a title in short time in town. They gave us what we wanted without a title in a few hours at CarMax. I was in and out in less than an Hour. Everyone was very pleasant, the paperwork was explained in detail. They allowed me to leave my other vehicle there until someone took me to pick it up. From the time I entered ti the time I left I felt very comfortable.

Got pre approved for a car, went in with all the paperwork and down payment. Salesman saw "Door dash" on my bank statement, he puts in the paperwork to the finance company, and then tells me I cant get approved because I'm going to use the car to Doordash! How in the xxxx are you going to tell me what I'm going to do with MY soon-to-be car! If the car is going to be paid for and insured, what difference does it make? I'll be telling everyone not to go to Carmax, because they can tell your future!

I bought my wife a car from there 3 months ago and she's been having nothing but problems with her car. They wanted to charge me 700.00 for their car warranty. They glued one of her parts together which messed up one of the sensors! They dont know what they are doing. I will never take her car there again or do business with them again

Car max charged me a diagnostic fee just to tell me, they can't touch my car because it is still under factory warranty. This is after i spend thousands to get a warranty with carmax once i purchased the car.I was never told that i have to take my car to the original maker. So, i had to pay carmax for nothing and then take it to a cadillac dealer.

Shopped for an SUV and found an excellent used car. No complaints and have had nothing but regular repairs. Buying process was fast and easy.

My wife and I were looking for a new vehicle but our credit wasnt the best ...In fact it was pretty bad actually..but we decided to check out car max.Im glad we did.Very nice selection of cars,great staff..My sales man Ken was a pleasure to work with.We got the car we wanted,in a price range that was fair..Even though our credit was low mine was a 585 wife's was a 615 we got the loan..ken worked hard for us and got the deal done.
