Hi Kurt, It's very very rare that one of our vehicles has a hiccup but when dealing with mechanical objects these things could happen.Upon returning from your test drive I offered you to leave a deposit so you wouldn't run the risk of the car being sold during the repair process and prior to you returning for a second test drive and you said you didn't feel comfortable and would take the risk. Well another customer that had already seen the vehicle and that was waiting for funds to clear came in and bought the truck just after the repair was completed which by the way was only a $34 linkage. When your wife called to come see truck I told her not to and that I would call her if for some reason the current deal fell through but one hour later she showed up. There was no wrong doing here and the other buyer didn't have any priority until they left a deposit binding the car which is industry standard protocol. you would have had the same priority if you left a deposit on your original visit. Further more there was no 6 hour R/T you actually came to see the vehicle from your office on the lunch break which was only a 20 minute drive so 40 minutes round trip you did not come from your house in Riverhead. And your wife came from the city as well so another 40-45 minute round trip. I hope you ended up with a wonderful car and no hard feeling but in the future I think you should #1 leave a deposit if you want a dealer to hold a car and #2 be more honest about your dealings.
