We initially contacted Tom Scott Honda because of the Costco Auto Program, interested in buying a new or used Honda CRV. When contacted by Kezar, we were asked what model we were looking for and heard nothing further. We assumed that stock was so limited, they had nothing to offer. We emailed back and said we would wait until inventory improved. Nothing was mentioned about not honoring Costco's program. A month later, after viewing several Honda crvs on their website, we decided to make the 40-minute drive to Tom Scott in Nampa. That's where we made contact with Haines and his trainee. When I mentioned the Costco program, he told me they were not working with that program due to inventory shortages. We were also informed that most of CRVs listed on website were "expected in" but not on the lot. We were pretty put off at that point but decided since we made the trip, we may as well look at what was available. We found a 2020 Subaru Forester that fit most of our needs. We were told it was priced right at at $37k. We went into look at financing, etc. We began to feel we were being duped about the price, and I felt I needed to do more research on the Subaru Forester. There was no mention of coming down in price at all. Halfway home, we received a call that they would come down in price $1k. Seriously? Not worth turning around for. We ended up stopping by a much more local dealer, ordering a brand new Forester with options we wanted for a few hundred dollars more. The only silver lining at Tom Scott was finding a vehicle that we preferred to the Honda. This is not our first rodeo when it comes to buying cars. We do not appreciate deceitful, misleading practices from a dealership. Walk away unless there is a salesman there you already have history with and feel you can trust.

I would NOT recommend this dealership. I found the car I knew I wanted and negotiated a price in writing before driving from Washington State to complete paperwork. They where nice enough to hold it for me for a few days until I could get a day off work to drive 4 hours. Upon arrival I was told that the price that I confirmed before, in email, before writing a check was $500 short and I was responsible for that difference. Furthermore, the communication is terrible trying to complete the licensing, no one will pick up their phone-including management or my sales rep. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL

Amazing Service!

Absolutely amazing service! Was able to schedule right away. Greeted promptly. I like the fact they go over the work that has been done or needs to be done. Finally a place I don't feel like I will be taken advantage of. Thank you again for the great service!

Don't waste your time

I was ready to buy a car here. Contacted the dealer, sent all of my information, exchanged a few emails, was waiting to hear back...and then NOTHING. No follow-up email or call. I tried contacting them again and still no response. I would not waste my time here again ever. Horrible customer service and follow-up!

The Way Car Dealerships Should Be

I’ve always believed that walking into a car dealership meant you should consider yourself in a den of thieves. It was time to replace my gas guzzling Ford truck with a more efficient smaller car. My dream car was always the Honda Civic which I had previously owned in the late 90’s to early 2k’s. Now, on a fixed income the new Civics looked beyond my reach. I had my eye set on the lower priced Fit. I watched lots of online videos about the Fit and loved it. I also watched lots of videos about the tricks some car dealers use to maximize their profits. With this knowledge I went to Tom Scott Honda in early November and an engaging professional named Jennifer Woodson showed me the Fit. I indeed liked what I saw but wanted to compare it to other vehicles in its price and class. She understood and agreed telling me she would like to help me if I decided on the Fit. Fast forward to end of December. I knew from research that it’s a great time to get deals. I had wanted the 2020 Fit but was disappointed when Honda announced it would be no different than the 2019. I called Jennifer and arranged a test drive of the remaining Fit on the lot. It was nice but those Civics kept catching my eye. While just looking at the 2020 Civics I knew I didn’t want to pay that much more above the Fit. In conversation Jennifer told me about the very minor difference between the 19 and 29 models of the Civic. Needless to say it was so minor that it was worth the huge amount of savings to consider the brand new 2019 Civic EX with 19 miles on it. Jennifer offered a price below their invoice price. A quick look online showed me it was an excellent deal and very close to the Fit that I had been settling on, I agreed to take the Civic and was bracing myself for the next step the dreaded sales managers and finance managers. I already had preapproved Honda financing so I was prepared to stand my ground or walk away if necessary. Surprise. At Tom Scott Honda in Nampa there is no little room to sit in with a fast talking high pressure Finance manager. Jennifer and I sat down with a coffee at a cafe table in the middle of the showroom and she went to retrieve paperwork. She came back with a very plain to read offer. the sale price of the car. Trade in offer for my truck and financing offer. Bottom line was monthly payments. The trade in was lower than my researched price so I said it would not be acceptable and I wanted 48 month financing not 60. She left for a few minutes and came back with an agreement on both. It was then I noticed the interest rate was lower than Honda had quoted and she said it was actually through a local credit union, I was pleasantly surprised. (Yes I know dealers get a “kick back” from the financing but that was going to happen either way and this was still below my original deal. A win win in my book. I agreed to the offer and she left to get the car prepped and ready and the paperwork finalized. A few minutes later I believe it was Jessie Smith who came over and asked if I wanted to add extended warrantee, paint protection etc and when I said no there was no pressure, remember I am still sitting at a cafe table in the middle of the show room not in a little back room. Within 30-40 minutes Jennifer led me out to my newly detailed beauty sitting outside the showroom. She took time to go over all the features and set up my iPhone interface. She had another customer waiting and I insisted she go take care of them that I was quite satisfied and knew I could stop by anytime with questions. It had only been about 2 hours since I arrived on the lot to just test drive! Bottom line. You know how you sometimes get buyers remorse after a purchase and feel like you’ve gotten beaten in a deal? That did not happen. I am sure that Tom Scott Honda through factory incentives and sales margin on my trade in made money and I am now driving a new Honda Civic EX which is much more satisfying than its lessor sibling the Fit and it’s still within my budget. I could not have asked for a better experience in buying this car, I’ve bought several in my lifetime and never felt so satisfied and genuinely treated as a valued customer not a chance to grab as much profit as possible. I highly recommend you see Jennifer at Tom Scott Honda when you are starting your search for a new vehicle. I also suggest Tom Scott Honda give this young sales professional a promotion or raise. She is a wonderful asset to the organization.

Great Experience

We bought a 2020 Honda Accord Ex a week ago from Tom Scott Honda, Nampa. Dan Adams was great to interact with. He was quite thorough in explaining the features of the various models were test drove. We would really like to commend manager Craig Collins. We bought an extended warranty for some parts and discovered a day later that these were alrready covered by our existing auto policy. The paperwork was still with Tom Scott Honda and had not been sent over to the insurer. We called my Mr. Collins and he had a refund check ready at the front desk the same day.
