Complaint Against Malloy Ford – Recall, Mechanical

Complaint Against Malloy Ford – Recall, Mechanical Issues, and Finance Pressure I purchased a vehicle from Malloy Ford on Saturday, August 9,2025. During signing, I repeatedly said I was unsure I could afford financing, but the finance person rushed me through the paperwork, saying “we got a runner, we got a runner.” I was told I had already signed and could not back out. The Carfax was briefly reviewed, but I was not informed the vehicle has an active recall’s That same day, a friend alerted me to the recall, and on Monday, August 12, I returned to Malloy Ford to try to give the car back. I was told there is no 3-day or 30-day return period and that they would fix the issue. However, Ford has stated that no parts or remedy are available yet, so the recall cannot be repaired. In addition, the oil warning light keeps coming on despite being told the oil was changed. When I asked about it, I was told to “just press the button to turn it off.” I feel unsafe and misled as a first-time buyer. I am requesting that Malloy Ford release me from the contract or switch to another vehicle or refund any payments I made.

BEWARE!

BEWARE! Criminal approach to selling cars. Spent a day texting about a specific vehicle listed for $21,900. Settled on a price of $23,500 after being crystal clear on what was and was not included. So I go in to buy. Jonathan B was nice enough and then the dandy appears dressed in a fancy suit and informs the offer was unauthorized. And so on, ie a fake dispute between the two. I was there for five hours and finally paid $1500 more than I planned to because I was simply exhausted. I had a physical check from my credit union to pay for the car yet they ran an unauthorized hard pull on my credit and then the finance guy claimed he knew nothing and thought I needed financing and gave me a hard sell on dealership financing.I got an email from a credit bureau that my credit score had declined because of this. I’ve spent three days asking them to reverse that hard pull and just keep getting the run around. Still not resolved. Don’t believe any response they might make to this review. It’s all xx. Caveat Emptor.

My wife took her 2016 Ford Explorer to Mallory Ford of

My wife took her 2016 Ford Explorer to Mallory Ford of Alexandria on June 16, 2025 for a simple tire rotation, diagnostic for a check engine light, Ford recall for replacement of panels on both side of the front windshield and inspection sticker. My wife's vehicle was in the shop all day. Rotated tires, ran diagnostics, relaced recall panels, no inspection sticker and a multi-page printout listing almost $10,000 in suggested work including new tires. When my wife returned to pickup her vehicle she was escorted out to the shop to her vehicle to review all the findings on the multi-page printout. My wife noticed the owner's Manuel pouch had been removed from the glove box and not returned and the Ford plastic card with the entry code was missing. When she asked the lady at the service desk were her card was the lady said they had a shift change and she didn't know where it was. My wife told her she was not leaving without the card and the lady at the service desk told my wife what do you want me to do about it. My wife paid the invoice and went to her vehicle in tears. Someone in the shop saw her crying and asked what was wrong - she informed the individual and he went in the shop and pulled her invoice on the computer and determined the mechanic who worked on her vehicle and checked the mechanics toolbox and found her Ford card with the entry code. She sent me a copy of the multi-page report. I noticed there was a line item for $43.70 for shop supplies plus 6% sales tax. After four phone calls and thirty minutes of hold time, I was able to speak with the service manager, Anthony Ngai, I expressed displeasure with how my wife was treated and I inquired about the details of the shop supplies. He pulled up the invoice and could not list the shop supplies and he then told me it was actually an additional service charge and no supplies were used. I then asked how it was calculated and he told me it was 8% of the charges - when I did the math it did not work. Upon further inquiry, he asked what he could do to satisfy me and I told a refund of the shop supplies and tax and he agreed. My wife's experience with the service department at Malloy Ford in Alexandria was awful. We will never use Malloy again nor will we ever recommend Malloy. Alan Dickerson - disgruntled customer

keep changing the 'out the door' price.

keep changing the 'out the door' price. place misleading ads on their website, then say that they can not honor the price, then change again and say they will honor the advertised price, but...........always a but. They learn to 'Amazon' their online process (may it simple and easy to buy). No integrity among the sales staff.

Consumer response

Josh: You need to 'walk the walk', not 'talk the talk'. Your company is not transparent and it does not have integrity. I understand if a salesperson says they can not meet the terms we discuss, but there was a lot of 'we can do this' and then later 'we can not do that' in terms of the 'out the door price' and the issue of delivery was confirmed then changed to 'we can not do that'. Thanks for your response.

I just sent a response......not sure you received it.

I wished we would have got up and walked away.

I wished we would have got up and walked away. The sales experience went down hill quickly starting with finance. We were pushed into a 72 month term despite having over 800 credit score as well as a maintenance plan. When I called back the finance person was rude and unwilling to help straighten it out. I found out a few days later he was let go. Since I was not able to get anyone on the phone, I went in person to ask about the deal specifically; if I received the $500 military rebate (did not show in any of the paperwork), when would my trade be paid off (as almost 2 weeks had passed,) when would my tag transfer, and finally how could I cancel the maintenance plan. I was told I did get the $500 despite no evidence of that in the deal, and that it takes 30 days to pay off your trade and process the rest of the deal. 30 days its 2025!! Also, I filled out the cancelation form for the maintenance plan, but discovered weeks later it was never submitted. No one from the sales team ever followed up with us after the sale, showed us the service department was or even went over anything about how the vehicle functions. It seemed once we drove off all communication after the sale ended. There are many choices when purchasing a vehicle, and I wish now we would have shopped around more. After all this, I couldn't get the Malloy Ford emblem off our vehicle fast enough,.
