Friendly and Fair.
I found Marin of Acura, and specifically my sales person Edmond to be excellent. He was friendly, polite, clear, direct, and reasonable. The transaction went smoothly and I believe both sides feel the transaction price was fair.

Straight forward answers and honest treatment. Salesman (Edmond Kim) was helpful, knowledgeable, and never pushy. Very accommodating when answering questions relating to the new vehicle. Responsive a in correcting some minor defects (cleaning some leather spots and ordering a damaged kick plate. Would recommend the dealership, and in particular, Edmond Kim.

Thorough inspection/report with photos allowed me to have 100% confidence that the work being recommended needed to be done. The responsiveness of the service team demonstrated their commitment to customer service. Because I had a limited budget, they helped me determine which repairs were most urgent, and schedule the less urgent repairs for a later date. Everyone I dealt with was both informative AND friendly.

I was impressed with Edmond Kim's knowledge of the vehicles and his overall demeanor. He was friendly and professional. I also liked that he never bad-mouthed another car. He just gave reasons why the Acura MDX was a better choice. It may seem small, but I really dislike when sales people immediately put-down their competition or suggest that you are not intelligent for even looking at other options. Edmond displayed courtesy and excitement for the product- which is why we stuck around. Karen Kraut was also extremely friendly and professional. She immediately realized that I was frustrated with having to return to the dealership less than 24 hours later with a nail in my tire (these things happen). She efficiently provided a loaner and promised to take care of the tire, the floor mats, and interior/exterior coating. I look forward to working with her again. My overall experience with the dealership was just so-so. After we said yes to the price, it was 60 minutes of waiting for nothing. At 8 pm, we stated we were leaving and asked for the car to be ready the next day. There was a quick rush to get us a contract, but I have no idea why the 8 men sitting around could not speed up the process. Watching the "manager' sit in an office looking at his smart phone did not help. The discussion on the price was not well articulated - it ended up being higher than stated, but we were so frustrated by the extended wait time, that we relented. Again, doesn't leave a good feeling when you don't feel like you are being respected. We were promised the car would be detailed, but it wasn't. There was loose change and pretzels in a cup holder and shoe prints on rear seat. Additionally, while it may seem petty, I find it annoying to buy an expensive car and then immediately stop at a gas station since it only came with a quarter tank. The cherry-on-top of this experience was finding a nail in the tire the very next morning (less than 24 hours - after driving straight home). It was probably just a coincidence, but it compounded our feelings of frustration.

I had been looking at this car for awhile on a different website and when I called Marin Acura, I found out that it had been shipped to Fresno. Edmond arranged for the car to be sent back to Marin Acura in Corte Madera so I could look at it. I loved the car and bought it. It's a great car, thanks Edmond!

We met Edmond Kim at the dealership and were impressed with his professionalism. We nonetheless called three other dealers to price compare and were very happy that he came in with the lowest price. He didn't have the exact car (color and technology/entertainment package) we wanted so he traded one of their cars, and schlepped to another dealer on a rainy Friday afternoon so we could purchase ours and head to Tahoe that evening. Great overall experience purchasing our first Acura! Separately, we drove the MDX up to Lake Tahoe last night in snowing/chain conditions (no chains for us!) and really enjoyed the handling and feeling of safety in the car.
