Write a reviewThe worst experience I have had with any business.
The worst experience I have had with any business. Brought my 2009 Outback in for service on 9/10 (Tuesday) as AC stopped working and needed an oil change and new brake pads. My assigned service provider was Mark. Note - I did not have any issues with my power steering nor was there any evidence that power steering pump was leaking when I brought the car in. They took a look at it on Wednesday (9/11) and determined AC compressor needed to be replaced. Had to order the part which should arrive over the weekend and then they could install Monday or Tuesday. No mention on phone call or anything on the written report about leaky power steering pump. I call in Tuesday afternoon (9/17). They call back say they’ll get to it on Wednesday. I get no call on Wednesday. I call in Thursday morning. Get a call back later that morning reporting that they installed the new compressor on Wednesday but immediately broke it as there was still metal shavings in the system. They are now going to have to replace the compressor and the condenser (a few more hundred dollars). Mark stated they will lie to their parts supplier and report that the compressor received was faulty so that they could warranty it and wouldn’t have to pay for and then charge me for a second compressor (acted as if this was a favor to me). Again probably won’t get the parts till the weekend. Get a call in the afternoon the next day, Friday (9/18), saying that they have installed the compressor and condenser and AC seems to be working. However, Mark reports that my power steering pump is now leaking, cost of replacement $875. Again, the leaking power steering pump had not been mentioned previously and I had no issues with it when I brought the car in. Opted to pick up the car. Already owed $2700. Pick up the car and power steering is completely nonfunctional and car is borderline unsafe to drive. Drive a couple miles home. Pop the hood and power steering pump is leaking profusely, actively dripping onto my driveway. I’m no mechanic but I do check my fluid levels periodically and this was certainly not occurring when I originally brought my car in. Call Subaru to voice my complaint. It’s late on a Friday so nothing to be done till Monday understandably. Speak with manager, Robert on Monday morning . Asks me to bring it back in to see what might have happened. Tell him I’ll bring it in Wednesday morning as I’m out of town. Bring car back in first thing Wednesday morning. Hear nothing all day. Call in near end of day. Receive call back from manager who states that even though power steering pump is right next to the replaced parts since they didn’t fully remove the power steering pump when working on the AC it isn’t their fault. Offers to “meet me halfway” and cover labor cost and replace power steering pump for $500. State that I have no desire to give them my business anymore and will be telling friends and family about my negative experience. Manger asks for more time to see if there might be another solution. Conversation gave me the impression that nobody actually looked at my car that day. I am done at this point and pick my car up. Take my car to Barnett Automotive per a coworker’s recommendation. They replace the o-ring on the power steering pump and clean up the huge mess of leaked fluid for $150 and power steering is working flawlessly again. TL;DR Avoid Dewey Griffin Subaru unless you enjoy poor communication, dishonest business practices, and your car in worse condition than it was brought in.

I stopped by Dewey Griffith today to get a car wash for
I stopped by Dewey Griffith today to get a car wash for my Outback as I have for almost 4 years. I have had my Outback serviced here since I got it and have been satisfied with the service. I was shocked when I was told that since I didn't buy my Subaru here, no car wash allowed. I have spent multiple thousands on service over the years but I guess that counts for nothing. This doesn't encourage me to recommend this dealership to any more of my friends and family ( I have recommended at least 2 buyers in 4 years ). It really bothers me that a successful company like this would nit pick a long standing customer and referral source. Oh well, I do have a choice and think I may take my Outback to someone that I feel cares more about me than a simple car wash. See you later. Brad and Kathy Taylor

I traded another vehicle for a 2019 Subaru Outback
I traded another vehicle for a 2019 Subaru Outback (68,000 miles) from Dewey Griffin Subaru in Bellingham Wa in late November of 2022. Within 6 weeks I discovered an oil leak from the vehicle. Over the next few weeks I localized the leak to the CVT pan and noticed a significant amount of oil on top of the plastic chassis cover adjacent to the cvt pan indicating the leak had been occurring for a several weeks/months. I did not purchase an extended warranty because I was convinced Subaru vehicles were dependable, so I contacted my salesperson at the dealership to determine if the dealership could help with the diagnosis and possible repair of this problem and my sales person indicated she would pass my information to her sales manager for follow-up. I reached out to her again but never received follow-up from the sales manager. I eventually took the vehicle to a local private mechanic and not only was there a cvt leak, but there also was a drive axle boot split requiring a new axle, and the front brakes were reportedly unsafe requiring brake replacements. My concern is that Dewey Griffin Subaru traded me a vehicle with known issues that were not remedied, and furthermore were unsafe. I paid $2500 for service required soon after I traded for the vehicle. I would not recommend purchasing a used vehicle from this dealership.

Don’t buy from these crooks
If there was an option for no stars I would have chosen that instead. My experience was horrible. Purchased a car 10 months ago and paid cash. I've been given every reason and possible excuse on why haven't received my title or plates. I've had 6 temporary plates which just expired. Let me add is absolutely illegal in the state of Wa. Come to find out there's no title in hand And this vehicle is still registered under the owner who originally used it as a trade in. I've called and nagged since I purchased this vehicle and I'm always getting a different reason to why they don't have it. After speaking to a professionals come to find out this dealership made a fraudulent sale. They obviously know this and this is probably the reason I'm avoided by every manager in that building. Don't buy from them. They clearly don't care, all they care about is the commission's

Excellent customer service car buying experience!
I admit I was anxious about going by myself to meet with the salesman about buying a new vehicle. I couldn't have asked for a nicer easy going no pressure salesman to assist me than Kris Parker at Dewey Griffin Subaru. He answered all my questions and offered to take me for a test drive when I didn't feel comfortable getting behind the wheel. He stayed in touch and kept me updated while waiting for my vehicle to arrive. On day of delivery he was thorough going over paperwork and again there was never any pressure. He went over everything in the vehicle often explaining it to me more than once and helping to set up some of the new technology for me . He followed up with me the day after on the phone and in person to show me a few more things. He reassured me I could call him anytime and he was always happy to help. Everyone there from the door greeter to the management staff are super friendly and helpful and you really feel like they care and want you to have the best experience. I got the feeling that they loved what they do and took pride in making sure you had an excellent car buying experience and are happy with your new vehicle!

Honest Service
I worked with Sharon online before driving to Bellingham. She was friendly, prompt, and straight-forward with me. When I arrived, there were no surprises. The car was exactly as described. Dewey Griffin did the 30,000 mile service and detailed the car. It is beautiful and runs great! I would recommend Dewey Griffin to anyone looking for a pleasant buying experience. Thank you, Sharon!

Do not go here!!
Dewey Griffin Subaru Sep 1, 2019 Every day normal guy "Talk xxxx about you if you don't pay what they want!" Went in there, looked at a few cars. Came back a couple days later ready to give them my busines. I offered a far price. Car blue booked between 8-10 thousand. I said I would meet in the middle at 9 tax, title lic, and other dealer fees. They did not want to take it. And said they had 3 other cars in the price rang the one I wanted was listed at witch was 2 grand over blue book for retail sales. I said ok well maybe you should get rid of one for a decent price. They declined. Witch is ok, that's there call. I went down the street and found d a better car same brand and a step up in model rang and got it for less and was very happy. And I heard them talking bad about me and my wife to be after we left (from a friend). I'm so glad we did not due business with them. I contacted them after and they said they would apologize for the inappropriate behavior and they never did. Do not use these people. There are many other better and nicer people that will give you a much better deal.

Every day customer is very happy with Dewey Griffin feels sorry for leaving such a review . He found out the next day nobody said anything negitive about him and found out he should talk to somebody before he assumes. To tell the story to our social media fans here it goes. Every day normal guy comes to the dealership and lets the salesperson know he is the nephew of a very respected business man in whatcom county, we know this gentelman very well and rolled out the red carpet for him. He and his fiance look at several cars left and called back the next day and asked he we could take the cars price from $12495 to $10000 and if we could he would be in the next morning to buy it. We agreed and made the appointment. Next day came and he offered $9000. The kelly book he was using was based on private sale "craigslist prices" we explained Kelly books had a range of $8500 to $10700, we then explained that with $700 worth of service work a local car vrs one bought from the east coast one with no accidents and that will wash your car for life but 700 below book was our best deal. He saw no vaule in those items and wanted to continue shopping, Since he was referred to us by a life long friend of over 30 years we called and let him know cound not quite make the deal and here was the reason why and thank him for sending a customer in. When Everyday guy came home with a impreza not a legacy, we were told by him that dad gave him a hard time he then went right to social media and now understands that there was never anyone talking negitive about him nor would we ever and we are happy that he found a Subaru he loves. A great life lesson
Easy going
Compared to the dealer I dealt with the day before, this place was a stark contrast. I was at easy and didn’t feel pressured at all. Shannon was top notch and took her time to get to know me!

Pain free
Stress free test drive/purchase. Tony B. met us in the parking lot. Very casual, no pressure. Not like the other dealerships we went to. They made us feel like fresh meat at a piranha convention! We test drove a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. We were looking for a pickup but had no luck after 2 weeks up and down the I5 corridor from Seattle to Bellingham. Tony B. was very patient and polite. The experience was refreshing to say the least. So, we bought what we needed, (NEEDED not WANTED. I wanted a Lamborghini Countach but my wife said it would be difficult to fit a tow hitch on it). Shout out also to Jeff. He helped us out by arranging a couple of fixes to the vehicle. Needless to say we were very impressed by the service. All-in-all a very pleasant experience. When we win the Lotto we will buy all our future vehicles from Dewey Griffin.
