Not super responsive.

Not super responsive. Sporadic communication, not a lot interest in making a deal. No follow ups. One would expect a higher level of service from Porsche. I guess they are doing fine as is. Good for them. Don't expect much....

Price discrepancies / shop around I have a Porsche

Price discrepancies / shop around I have a Porsche cayenne 2020 which needed water pump replacement according to Porsche of larchmont . I have extended warranty on the car . The dealership reached out to the warranty company which agreed to have the car fixed . Larchmont Porsche requested 15 hours of labor time plus the parts . The warranty company said based on their work chart , industry standards and their experience with Porsche , that job ie fixing the water pump is 11.3 hours of labor . Porsche larchmont insisted on the 15 hours so I called the warranty company to find out what their rationale was , and the answer was 15 hours for for fixing water pump is a stretch . Anyway I started researching on line . It’s amazing that no where that I see that many hours needed to fix water pump . But that’s is neither here nor there . The car wasn’t fixed by Porsche larchmont because they needed me to pay the difference of 3,7 hours from the 15 hours plus my deductible of $250 which will amount to almost $1100 with $3400 they were getting from the warranty all in the name of water pump so I declined, Surprisingly an hour drive to NYC yielded a different result. A Porsche dealership in NYC looked at the same issue ( water pump replacement ) and concluded it’s an 8 hour job , Now ask yourself why this huge discrepancy of 7 hours of labor ?, Now I know Porsche is an expensive car to drive and maintain , I get that but there comes a time honesty and decency should lead the way . No one should be charge exorbitantly for service because of the brand , I am not a cheap xxxxxxx looking for freebies but I also don’t want to be cheated. Next time you are servicing your car at Porsche larchmont please shop around first . There might be price gouging going on . Just saying .

Dealer response

Unfortunately there are times when outside extended warranty companies are not willing to compensate the dealers at a fair labor rate, time needed to properly do the repair, and also, proper pricing on the parts. We apologize that we were not able to come to a reasonable agreement with you. Please contact Don our service manager to further discuss this at 914-220-0563.

Consumer response

Understandably so . Yes the warranty company’s can be an unreasonable. But this was not the case . They proposed to pay 11.3 hours of labor time to replace the water pump , You were insisting on 15 hours of labor time . Interestingly , another Porsche company looked at the same issue on the car and came to a different conclusion. The job they said was an 8 hour job . So where lies the truth ? This was 7 hours more of labor you were charging . If you don’t see anything wrong with this huge discrepancy then I don’t know . My advise to anyone wanting to use your organization is to shop around and verify because you might be over charging .

Not a trustworthy dealership.

Not a trustworthy dealership. Service Advisor and Manager have no communication skills and provide extremely poor service. Porsche Larchmont is a major disappointment for any Porsche owner.

Hi Minsel, We would like the opportunity to further discuss this with you. Please contact Donald Pintavalle, our Service Manager, at 914-220-0563 as your time allows.

Consumer response

This must be a generic response from Porsche Larchmont since Mr. Pintavalle is the main reason for my extremely low rating.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of problems with the service

I’ve been dealing with a lot of problems with the service department and specially my service advisor Danny who seems that he simply doesn’t care about customers at all. I bring my car to service hoping that this time it will be different than the previous, but I’m wrong. First of all, I never get any information or updates about my car once they have it, I try to call and they put me on hold for at least 20 minutes and then the call just drops, when I call again they do the same thing and finally they say he’s busy, ok, so I leave a message for Danny thinking he will get back to me but I never get an answer from him, not an email not a text nothing. Now after all the headache I have to deal with to get my car back, they say they are gonna call me to schedule a home delivery, good luck getting that call… suddenly there’s a gentleman ringing my doorbell to tell me he’s delivering my car and I’m not even home yet, AND THIS NOT THE FIRST TIME. Danny NEVER called me to schedule this, I guess they just do what’s convenient for them not for the customer. I’m not usually a person who leaves negative reviews but honestly I had it with this place, apparently the manager is aware of this common problems but he just doesn’t care either, not surprised…

Not a trustworthy dealership

Did contact them for a 911 gt3 order in June 21. They sent me an order form indicating the waitlist and I filled out the credit card authorization form. The dealership indicated that I am number 15 on the waitlist and a 2 year wait should be expected. No issue since I was not in a hurry. A few weeks later the dealership did contact me and mentioned there is an allocation that I could jump on if I was willing to pay $75000 on top. I declined and specifically instructed the dealership to keep me on the waitlist. I recently checked on the waitlist and the dealership mentioned that they took me off the waitlist anyway. In order to get back on the waitlist they now demanded $100000 upfront on top of the car price. Meanwhile a friend of mine just took delivery of his GT3touring after a long wait. He dealt with a New Jersey dealership that honored the waitlist and charge the list price. Obviously there are Porsche dealerships around that are ethical and can be trusted. Porsche Larchmont is just not one of them…

I had been looking both private party and through

I had been looking both private party and through Porsche Approved CPO, website for Cayenne's, across the USA. Actually drove one for sale by private party in California while there on business. However in my internet search on the Porsche Approved CPO site found the one with just the right equipment great mileage, fantastic condition, and a fair price. The team at Porsche Larchmont could not have been nicer, courteous, or more helpful. Being from out of state that was more than a person could hope for. From my first contact with Sarah, to Gary Minsky, in sale’s I was so happy with the experience at the dealership. Many thanks to all. Craig S. from Pennsylvania PS. And 25 mpg on my trip home. That makes me happy too.

Gary Minsky was super nice and very helpful. He gave me a great deal on a certified preowned 2017 911 Carrera 4S. Gary addressed all of my questions I had with the vehicle before we left and even showed me how to use all of the features in the vehicle that I needed help with. He is the guy to go to, will be back in the future.
