When I bought my CX-5 in 2019.

When I bought my CX-5 in 2019. The service department seem honest. Now I do not recommend anyone who buys vehicle from there to have your car service there. They take advantage of you they tell you cabin filter is dirty your air filter is dirty. You need new brakes and tires. Oil gasket is leaking it will cost 1,776.88. I can have it replace for $300.00. Then they said the video was not loading up for them to send it to me. Hopefully they change my oil and put oil in it.

We have been fighting Tim Dahl Mazda in Sandy for a few

We have been fighting Tim Dahl Mazda in Sandy for a few weeks now. We took my son into their dealership to purchase his first car. We test drove the car and everything seemed fine, ( we have never had a problem with a used car before, even our one we got for super cheap). My son decided he wanted to buy the BMW, I was a little hesitant because I know they can be a problem child, but he really loved it. We brought it home and signed the final papers on May 2nd. My husband road in the car with our son to put gas in it and then brought it right home. My son took his 2 little brothers on a quick drive around our block ( which is really small). A couple hours later my husband and my son went to go grab dinner for us and they pulled out of our drive and got an engine malfunction, so they pulled back into the driveway. After they shut the car off it would not start again, it would not even turn over. At this point we only had the car for 3 hours. We called the dealership and told them what had happened, they sent out a tow truck the next day to bring it back to them so they could get it in the shop to figure out what was wrong. They have had the car ever since. During the week of the 5th - 10th they told us they would try to make it right, but the GM did not want to do anything for us and was telling us that we drove it off the lot and we signed the papers and that's too bad for us. Monday the 12th, they finally told us that we would need a whole new engine. We told them that we could not afford to buy a whole new engine. We also told him that they needed to make this right still. It has been a fight back and forth for weeks since they took the car back. We told them to cancel the loan, and we would find another car, they told us they would and could not do that. They got back to us on Friday 16th they called and said they got the GM to cut us a check for $2000, and they would search for an replacement engine. They called today May 19th and said so far, they have only found 2 engines, 1- that is used, and they said it was iffy 2- a new one that with labor and everything is going to cost us $12000 (this includes the labor costs). We don't have the money for any of these options. During our conversations they had told us many times that it was an rod knock and that we caused it. We only drove the car between 15- 20 miles. From what we have researched and talked to people that have many years as a mechanic, you cannot cause an engine knock in such a few miles. They said that their mechanics did not hear anything such thing when they took it trough their shop. They have had the car for basically the whole 45 day window before the first loan payment. Will never use them again.

Absolutely terrible, my truck was in there about 5-6

Absolutely terrible, my truck was in there about 5-6 times for the same problem, I payed money for the repairs and the problem still occurred multiple times on multiple occasions. They charged me for warranty work! AND charged the warranty for the same thing, come to find out they didn’t do the work that I was told was done, at all. I was also told by my service advisor that I couldn’t take my truck to any different dealer to have repairs done because my warranty would not cover it (which would be completely fine) but yet when I called my warranty company to complain about all of the other complications and how they weren’t covering the warranted items I was told that they were covering all of the repairs and should not be charged for the work being done and I was able to take it to any certified ford dealership which is what I wanted to do in the first 7 months of owning this vehicle. I was also told by the other dealership that I took my truck to after I was informed that I could that they lied to the warranty and to me about the work that was completed when it was in fact never done (and the issue was due to my transmission which caused my tires to lock up going highway speeds, not once but twice after I was told the problem was resolved by Tim dahle Mazda). On top of that it was a lemon through and through, I wasn’t even the official owner of the vehicle yet before the check engine light came on and when I brought it back they said that the repairs were on me because it was normal wear and tear which would make sense if it was my vehicle but at the time I hadn’t even signed any financing but since I wanted the truck I dealt with the repair on my own, once I talked to the finance manager about having to do the repairs when the vehicle wasn’t official mine yet I was told that it wasn’t suppose to be on me to repair and he was completely unaware that they even did maintenance on the vehicle, yet the money spent on the repairs (and the warranty work that I wasn’t suppose to be charged) were not reimbursed or rectified at all. In honesty I believe that this establishment is very unorganized and the service department is very rude. It seems if you by a new Mazda they are very willing but if you are looking for a used car on there lot they don’t seem to be very forthcoming

Dishonest, misleading, and the worst car-buying

Dishonest, misleading, and the worst car-buying experience I’ve ever had. I bought a used Tesla from this dealership and regret every part of it. The night before, I confirmed the price via their website and even chatted with a rep to make sure everything looked good. I showed up for my appointment, test drove the car, and was ready to buy. That’s when the nightmare started. They refused to give me the final price until I handed over all my personal info. When I did, suddenly the price was nothing like what I saw online. They claimed the website calculator didn’t include taxes or registration — it does. Then they tried to tack on a bogus $2,500 "Tesla certification" fee. Total lie — the car was still dirty from transport and clearly hadn’t gone through any inspection. After hours of pushing back, we finally got close to the numbers I had originally calculated. I put a large down payment and thought it was over. But no — they secretly added a "pulse light device" to my contract without telling me. When I called them on it, they said “it’s already installed” and made me pay for it. Spoiler: it wasn’t installed. I had to come back a week later for them to put it in. Same story with the “premium ceramic coating and leather treatment” I paid for. They had the car for 4 hours. Tesla’s onboard cameras and sensors showed nothing was done. The car still had water spots on the paint and greasy kid fingerprints on the leather. I confronted them, and they doubled down — “it was done.” Total lie. Oh, and the same day I drove it off the lot, I got a system alert from Tesla: “PTC Heater Faulty.” The heater didn’t work. It’s a $1,000 repair. They sold me the car like that. The whole process was five hours of lies, hidden charges, and shady tactics. I’ve never had such a bad experience buying a car. And yes, I’ve seen the viral video of the guy who crashed into a dealership with his Outback. After this? I get it. Take accountability. Fix the PTC Heater, refund the bogus add-ons, and stop treating customers like they won’t notice.

Salesperson really tried and went above and beyond.

Salesperson really tried and went above and beyond. She would be wise to take that tallent somewhere else...but policy of the dealer hides the true cost. 1. About $1,000 extra for "pulse". What it this you ask..."protections for you if your car gets stolen or you get in an accident. They give you down payment assistance" - Requirement and you cannot remove this...it's required for the sale. I guess this dealer never heard of full coverage car insurance? 2. All pricing assumes you are financing thru the dealer. If cash or you want to use your own finance (credit union, your favorite bank, etc), add another $1,000 to the price of the vehicle. 3. Other unknown fees...still looking for the other $1200 in additional fees (not taxes or title)...prolly cost of oil change and inspection...but who cares...already lost me. Moral of story....read the reviews of the dealer...it appears this is a common practice at this one.

I bought a vehicle from Tim Dahle a couple months ago.

I bought a vehicle from Tim Dahle a couple months ago. The sales guys were good to work with and I got the price of the new car as well as the trade in price I wanted. Things were great until Finance. I went over everything with a fine tooth comb because I don’t trust finance guys. We did everything electronically. My mistake! I got home and checked the electronically signed docs. What did I find? The finance guy move some numbers and I had an electronically signed doc approving $299 for a theft protection warranty. I never signed that. That’s like getting VIN etching; it’s a big dealer scam. I reached out to the dealer and the GM, Jacob Blair, said he would refund it. My sales guy, Mike, then called and said it would be refunded if I updated a bad review to Mazda. I didn’t relent and now I haven’t received a refund. What the finance guy did was a crime (felony). Good thing I have a voice recording of the transaction and everything he said. Beware that these guys will try to screw you if you do digital paperwork. Request everything printed. I’ll update this post once I’ve reported the incident to the local PD and the Utah MVED.

Stay away from these guys with a ten foot poll if you

Stay away from these guys with a ten foot poll if you value your phyiscal health. The deal desk, manager and general manager seem like they have a goal to screw you over. Spent multiple days with a sales rep, Braxton, who was awesome. Got down to numbers and we were no where near the numbers we were talking about. They had attempted to screw me over on every aspect of the deal. Bad trade in rate, higher interest rate then pre-approval. I asked them for my keys about a dozen times before I was finally given them back. When they were asking what they could do to get the deal done, I was explaining I felt they were being stechy and ended up being threatened and told that if I didn't leave that I would end up getting knocked out on the floor room floor.

I looked at purchasing a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 from Tim

I looked at purchasing a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 from Tim Dahle Mazda Southtowne. They had told me that they had performed an inspection on the truck, which they said they had performed minor maintenance. I asked the salesman Nate that I needed them to take it to the Dodge dealer to have an independent inspection. Nate told me that he would take the truck in on Friday, which he never did and sent me a text that he would take it in on Saturday morning. I did not hear anything from Nate Saturday through Tuesday of the next week. Even though I had sent messages on truck update. Nate finally got back in touch with me to let me know that he had another buyer come in on Sunday and took truck to independent mechanic. The mechanic said that both manifold gaskets were bad and needed fixed. Nate said that they were planning on fixing manifold gaskets, but buyer could not get approved to buy truck. Nate finally took the truck to Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Sandy, which is the dealer I wanted to perform an independent inspection. The dodge dealer found "12 items failed Needs immediate attention" 1. Oil Change " The oil change gauge was at 13%" 2. Brake Fluid Exchange 3. Throttle body service,Engine decarbon,& Fuel injection flush 4. Wiper Blade Replacement 5. Engine Air Filter Replacement 6. Bulb - Third Brake Light 7. Brake Job - Front (Replace Pads and Rotors) 8. Brake Job - Rear (Replace OEM Pads/Shoes and Rotors/Drums) 9. Control Arm - Upper: FOUND THAT BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE UPPER BALL JOINT BOOTS HAVE TORN. ADVISE REPLACING BOTH UPPER CONTROL ARMS. WOULD REQUIRE ALIGNMENT AFTER REPAIRS. 10. Exhaust Manifold Gasket Replacement: FOUND THAT BOTH SIDES HAVE A BROKEN STUD ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK. ADVISE REPLACING BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKETS, ALL 8 EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUDS, AND BOTH NUTS AND BOLTS FOR THE EXHAUST FLANGE 11. 8 Cylinder Platinum Hemi Tune-up (2014-Current)(100K) 12. Alignment - 4 Wheel: Alignment - Four Wheel. Required after ball joint replacement I sent Nate a text to find out, which items they would pay for. Nate called me back to let me know they would do none of these items besides manifold gaskets. I told Nate that if they won't even fix the other safety items, I would not be interested in truck. The items I requested to be fixed is (7,8,9,10 and 12). One of Nates managers called me back, which I explained the five items I expected fixed, which he said he agreed in the safety items, but would have to get back in touch with me. They finally called me back and said items 7 & 8, “The brakes were at 4 mils and that they disagreed with the pits in the rotors that the other dealer said needed to be fixed”. Brakes are recommend to be changed at 3 to 4 mils. Tim Dahle is fine selling vehicles at the end of recommended brake life! Item 9 they said the rips in boots does not mean the arms will break even though mechanics agree this item needs to be fixed to prevent failures. Item 12 they wouldn't do because they think the hazard of line item 9 is not too bad. I would recommend never buying from Tim Dahle Mazda Southtowne which is a dealer that does not put safety above their clients. I am also sending over to the better business bureau as a complaint of improper business practices. I hope this helps other buyers!

Nate told me that he would take the truck in on Friday, which he never did and sent me a text that he would take it in on Saturday morning. I did not hear anything from Nate Saturday through Tuesday of the next week. Even though I had sent messages on truck update. Nate finally got back in touch with me to let me know that he had another buyer come in on Sunday and took truck to independent mechanic. The mechanic said that both manifold gaskets were bad and needed fixed. Nate said that they were planning on fixing manifold gaskets, but buyer could not get approved to buy truck. Nate finally took the truck to Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Sandy, which is the dealer I wanted to perform an independent inspection. The dodge dealer found "12 items failed Needs immediate attention" 1. Oil Change " The oil change gauge was at 13%" 2. Brake Fluid Exchange 3. Throttle body service,Engine decarbon,& Fuel injection flush 4. Wiper Blade Replacement 5. Engine Air Filter Replacement 6. Bulb - Third Brake Light 7. Brake Job - Front (Replace Pads and Rotors) 8. Brake Job - Rear (Replace OEM Pads/Shoes and Rotors/Drums) 9. Control Arm - Upper: FOUND THAT BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE UPPER BALL JOINT BOOTS HAVE TORN. ADVISE REPLACING BOTH UPPER CONTROL ARMS. WOULD REQUIRE ALIGNMENT AFTER REPAIRS. 10. Exhaust Manifold Gasket Replacement: FOUND THAT BOTH SIDES HAVE A BROKEN STUD ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAUSING AN EXHAUST LEAK. ADVISE REPLACING BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKETS, ALL 8 EXHAUST MANIFOLD STUDS, AND BOTH NUTS AND BOLTS FOR THE EXHAUST FLANGE 11. 8 Cylinder Platinum Hemi Tune-up (2014-Current)(100K) 12. Alignment - 4 Wheel: Alignment - Four Wheel. Required after ball joint replacement I sent Nate a text to find out, which items they would pay for. Nate called me back to let me know they would do none of these items besides manifold gaskets. I told Nate that if they won't even fix the other safety items, I would not be interested in truck. The items I requested to be fixed is (7,8,9,10 and 12). One of Nates managers called me back, which I explained the five items I expected fixed, which he said he agreed in the safety items, but would have to get back in touch with me. They finally called me back and said items 7 & 8, “The brakes were at 4 mils and that they disagreed with the pits in the rotors that the other dealer said needed to be fixed”. Brakes are recommend to be changed at 3 to 4 mils. Tim Dahle is fine selling vehicles at the end of recommended brake life! Item 9 they said the rips in boots does not mean the arms will break even though mechanics agree this item needs to be fixed to prevent failures. Item 12 they wouldn't do because they think the hazard of line item 9 is not too bad. I would recommend never buying from Tim Dahle Mazda Southtowne which is a dealer that does not put safety above their clients. I am also sending over to the better business bureau as a complaint of improper business practices. I hope this helps other buyers!
