Totally dishonest people

Took my car in for a clunking noise at the front of my car. I was told that the ball joint and the rack/steering gear needed replaced. I decided to get a second opinion due to the cost of the replacement. Took it to a private mechanic and he stated that there was nothing wrong with the rack/steering gear. My car was also seen by another mechanic and he stated the same thing, there is nothing wrong with the rack/steering gear. Kia wanted to charge me $1200.00 for something that wasn't even wrong with my car. I will NOT be back for anything. Totally dishonest people.

Great Service

Jackie in the service department has always done a great job keeping me informed of my vehicles progress while it’s being worked on, and helped us get a great new vehicle when it was time. We appreciate her.

Service Department Sucks

Very poor customer service at the service department. According to them I need a new engine. I contacted my home dealership in a different ship. They emailed all my info to the service advisor, Adam, and asked for him to communicate the problems they saw. He flat out refused to contact them. He literally told me on the phone that he would not contact them! How rude and what poor customer service! He obviously has no interest in doing what’s best for the customer.

Dishonest from the start

Can I give less than one star??  I will NEVER deal with this dealership.  I have purchased 4 Kias and am very loyal to the brand.  In March, I went in to trade my 2020 Telluride for a 2022.  The trade-in value of my 2020 vehicle made this a very easy thing to do. I ordered my car and was told it would take 6 months.  Almost 6 months later, to the day, the car came in.  However, when we went to put together the final deal, the dealership broke many of the promises it had made to me during our dealings in March. I was lied to by the sales man before I even took a test ride in my new car.  He denied lying to me, but don't tell me that the branding for the vehicle was added at the factory.  They barely have time to get cars out the door, let alone put your silly "VanDevere.com" sticker on the back of the new car.  I told you I didn't want it and wouldn't buy a car you branded.  This was not the reason I walked away, but was just one example of the lies told to get the deal done. I made the mistake of trusting and not getting things in writing, but the way I was dismissed and handled during this transaction was disgraceful.  I think the sales staff saw a single woman purchasing a car and tried to take advantage of me.  They low-balled the value of my current car, they wouldn't give me the rate they were going to charge me. I wanted all of the numbers - how much for the car, value of my trade, rate of the loan, etc. They would only give me a "monthly payment" number and were not transparent with how this monthly number was calculated.  I had done my research and had a "back up" option in case the deal didn't work out the way it was promised.  I was in a position to to walk away. I left $1000 at this dealership for my deposit and STILL will be spending less on my other deal. They were very angry that I would talk to a different dealership during the 6 month wait I had for my new vehicle.  They were "hurt" that I would continue to pursue the best deal possible. They tried to handle me.  They tried to take advantage of me.  I gave them 2 days to respond to an email asking them to make this right.  They failed.  DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS DEALERSHIP.  THERE ARE BETTER PLACES TO BUY A KIA.  I will be purchasing my 5th Kia from a different dealership in 2 weeks.  No regrets.

Dishonest fees for lease buyout

VanDevere has lost me as a loyal customer. After leasing two vehicles and sending a referral to them to buy a vehicle, they tried dishonestly putting in a $1000 "market adjustment" into my lease buyout was good practice. Had I not noticed it in the quotes and found my original paperwork that showed the exact dollar amount of my residual for buyout I would have never known. When I questioned this price I was called by the "Sales Manager" Mack Gilchrist, who proceeded to lecture me on the pandemic and how the owners had directed them to include this "adjustment" in all lease buyouts and how somehow I was the only one of "hundreds" to even question it. I asked how they felt it was ethical to add a fee given I had a signed, legal contract stating my buyout was an exact dollar amount, and he proceeded to gaslight me about prices of groceries and if I still bought food. As if I had a contract with Giant Eagle for the price of milk? When I informed him that he would be losing me as a customer for this, he just proceeded to tell me other dealerships were going to charge $3000. I told him I was going to explore my options and literally the first two Kia dealerships I spoke to, the first had a $500 mark up and the other did not add any fees to buyouts. So needless to say, I did my buyout through KIA OF BEDFORD with the help of Matt Bystricky. They gave me a great deal on my buyout, treated me with respect and they will now get all of my future business and will be getting my referrals. I had to apologize to my friend who I referred to them and share my story with them. All lease buyout people, PLEASE READ YOUR BUYOUT DETAILS CLOSELY AT VANDEVERE. This is an absurd and dishonest practice. I look forward to discussing this experience with Kia Finance. Lastly, just to put an exclamation point on this horrific experience, upon looking at the Vandevere website, I confirmed Mack had even given me a false last name. Told me his last name was "Gill." What does this say about him and Vandevere? A fake name??

Poor Salesmanship

Went to buy a new Telluride, only to find out they were not in stock and had to be ordered. No problem , I will order one. The salesman ,David Figueroa, sat down with me and we went over what I wanted and I needed 2 extras installed before I got the car. He gave me the run around for 5 full days sending only text messages and photos of paperwork with no real answers. I called him and he said he would call me back in 5 minutes. He never did. His words were it would take 3 to 6 months to have a car built and this was after he confirmed that what I wanted , they could easily do. I git tired of waiting and being ignored. VanDevere just lost a $45000 sale, since I went to another dealership, sat with a salesman, went over details, took a test drive, and I get my new Telluride from the assembly plat in Georgia next month.

SOLD us a car with clunking brakes

They refused to fix the brakes on our new used car even after the salesman told us the brakes were newer. The dealer said the clunking noise was normal and not a safety concern. How do you sell a car with clunking brakes??? They knew the pads were the problem but refused to change them and make it right! We hadn't even had the car a week!
