Worst car purchase of my life.

I would advise anyone considering buying a car from DAS to have your own mechanic THOROUGHLY inspect the vehicle. Also note, the Carfax that DAS provides you with does not report all the records that a service center may have for the car even if some of said center’s records are listed. Do not make the same mistake I did by assuming that DAS has done any kind of inspection or due diligence in making sure that what they are selling is in good working condition. I purchased a 2017 hybrid from them in late October. When I did the test drive, the weather was still warm and therefore it would have been difficult to determine when testing the heater if it worked or was simply pulling in warm air from outside. A week later when the temperatures dropped, while the vehicle is running on electric, there was zero heat. Aside from comfort, this also causes the windshield to fog up to the point that you are unable to see to drive. I messaged DAS to discuss the issue and they claimed they had no knowledge of it. They asked if I had had the problem professionally diagnosed but offered no actual help. Before paying for a service center to diagnose it, I decided to do some research on my own. I found that the Carfax report showed recent basic service records (oil changes, tire rotations, etc.) at two dealerships not long before it was purchased by DAS.I called those dealerships to see if they had more information about any issues with the car. Both dealerships reported that their records showed the car was diagnosed with a heating issue. Furthermore, their records also stated that the parts were unavailable and therefore the heat was not repaired before the car was sent to auction. I reported my findings to DAS, who again claimed they had no knowledge of the issues. They said, if I wanted their help, that the only thing they could assist with was tracking down somewhere for me to purchase the parts. They emphasized that the parts, if found, would have to be acquired and installed at my own expense. By that time, I was very frustrated with DAS and mistrustful of any potential dealings with them. I decided I could more reliably find parts on my own. After much searching and hundreds of dollars, I was able to get a used part. I made an appointment at the local brand dealership to have it replaced. Again, this part cost hundreds of dollars to be installed. After the installation, the heat still did not work. The service technician found that there was an additional issue with the wiring and that it could take multiple hours of tracing wires and doing diagnostics before the problem could even be found, much less fixed. After unexpectedly having to sink hundreds of extra dollars into this car, I cannot currently afford to fix the issue. While there, I also asked the dealership to perform the state required yearly inspection of the vehicle so that they could issue me the sticker which makes it road legal. After performing the inspection, the dealership refused to issue a sticker because the car could not pass the basic inspection required by my state. They discovered that the front brakes are essentially worn to nonexistence and that the rotors are ruined. They also found that the ground strap needs replaced. As such, making this car merely safe to even drive on the roads will cost me hundreds more!! In summation, I had to spend nearly a thousand extra dollars to find out that DAS sold me a car that has no heat, defrost, ground strap, rotors, and brakes. DAS either misled me or were willfully and dangerously ignorant of basic facts about the car they were selling. TLDR: DAS sells unsafe cars either because they are frighteningly unknowledgeable about the cars in their possession or willing to lie to potential customers to get them off the lot. I would advise anyone considering dealing with them to look elsewhere.

Just go ANYWHERE else, you won't regret it.

Avoid this lot! They really live up to the terrible stereotypes given to used car salesmen. They talk a big game but when it comes down to fulfilling their promises they just fall short. I drove a car that I liked and wanted to make a deal. I spoke primarily with Brian. I liked the car as it was and made an offer considering the few small repairs it needed. Brian convinced me that he was able to get his mechanic to take care of it before the sale. We agreed on a price that included those repairs. Over the next few days I got a few excuses as to why it was taking so long. He would give me small updates when I pressed but I felt like I got put on the back burner. The real "gotcha" moment I see now is when I mentioned to Brian that I already had the cashiers check ready for the amount we agreed on. As soon as that bit of info was divulged I got some real answers! Answers like "I can't get the parts" and "the service center was backed up" and "I personally know that they didn't strip that bolt or overtighten it". So I get the message that it's ready! Yay! But not Yay! They did work on the brakes like they said but the door handle was still broken. They gave every excuse about how they couldn't find one, they can't fix it, it is such a commonly broken piece, etc, etc. Brian verbally agreed to send me one "if he can find one". Which to me is outright xxxxxxxx because they are available at every dealer. But at least they fixed the brakes, right?! Oh boy, I wish. I was about halfway home when I finally caught a whiff of the brakes burning. They were rubbing and overheating like crazy. The rotor was a dull, glowing orange and the freshly cleaned rim was already coated black. So the $300 brake job they did is now going to cost me twice as much to repair what they just "fixed". I'm still not sure if he was just a liar or an incompetent salesman. Either way, they sure have a lot of practice beating people out of their hard earned money. Despite my best efforts, they got one over on me. AVOID!

Ruben, Ruben, Ruben.....

Ruben is a down to earth good guy, lots of personality! Some of the other boys have very strong personalities that can come across as rude to some degree. The initial contact and reveal of "no credit" led to a sour note however, once we purchased the car, with a good credit rating, everyone was smiles. Ruben was courteous and easy going throughout.

Great Experience

Vega was great and very knowledgeable about the vehicle we purchased. He answered all my questions and addressed all my concerns. When we actually went to pick up the vehicle, everything went fast and efficient.

I'm excited about my 2010 Mercury Mariner. It has all the bells and whistles I wanted. Very clean from inside/out. The application process to get me approved was smooth. Sam got me exactly the monthly payments I budgeted, including the service warranty. Thanks staff of DAS.
