Brian is the true definition of a sleazy used car salesman. I spoke to him and we settled on a price. I am not in the NY area so he told me if I signed paperwork he would reserve the car for me. He sent me the paperwork (none of which included an option for putting down a deposit) which I promptly signed and returned. I insisted on a PPI and scheduled an appointment at a shop 3 miles away. The car was never taken there. Brian and Julianna conveniently forgot to take the car there for the appointment. I again scheduled another appointment for 3 days later. Again, the car did not make it to the inspection. Only after I called Julianna (no answer) and then Brian, was I told this time it was because they found a faulty sensor and had to replace it, waiting on parts. Finally 2 days later I asked for an update on when it would be taken for the PPI, and Brian said another offer for more money came in. They never called me, never contacted me, they just sold the car to someone else. So sleazy, and incompetent. Probably dodged a bullet because the car wouldn't have passed inspection anyway.

I should have trusted my gut that NY Auto Find was too good to be true. If you're considering buying a car here, read the reviews carefully and consider other dealerships. I purchased a 2011 MINI Cooper Convertible from them in August 2024. Within weeks, the car was back in their service department multiple times for a serious engine issue. I was assured everything had been taken care of, so I trusted the repairs. The problems came back quickly and less than two years later—and after driving only about 7,000 miles—the engine completely seized after exhibiting the exact same symptoms. I am now left without a car and out nearly $14,000. Nick was awful to deal with from start to finish and showed no interest in taking responsibility or making the situation right. The only bright spot was Carmen in the service department, who was always pleasant and professional—which is fortunate, because I spent far more time with the service department than anyone should after buying a car. Based on my experience, NY Auto Find does not stand behind the vehicles it sells. I would never do business with them again and strongly recommend taking your money elsewhere. DON'T DO IT.

I’m happy with the car I purchased — it arrived in good condition and overall I’m pleased with the vehicle itself. However, the paperwork process left me feeling very disappointed. I was quoted an internet price of $12,948, and I fully expected the additional $400 transportation fee. What I did not expect was to later discover an unexplained $1,800 increase on the buyer’s order. I was never shown a breakdown of charges before signing; the only document I received at the time was the bank contract. I had to reach out after the fact just to get a copy of the buyer’s order. I appreciate Diane in the business office for sending it to me, but the lack of transparency around the pricing — especially the unexplained $1,800 — made me feel taken advantage of. I like the car, but the process should have been much clearer and more upfront.

At first, I thought I was somehow blown into "Emerald City" with Dorothy and Toto when I met and chatted with many of the staff at the NYAUTOFIND dealership. They were all very likable and helpful while I waited for the salesperson to finish his phone call and tend to me. Even when I saw and test drove the Mini Cooper I was interested in, there were still no red flags. Unfortunately, I soon realized I was actually in the "Twilight Zone" and literally saw the stereotypical used-car experience come to life in real time. In the space of one week these folks went from likable to detestable! They ruined my excellent credit rating by making their own decisions regarding the financing of the vehicle, resulting in numerous hard inquiries, instead of contacting me first. FYI, I went to this dealership with pre-approved financing from my own bank so their decisions created unnecessary chaos, left my pristine zero-hard inquiry credit report in tatters, and I ended up having to go to my bank anyway when they could not fulfill their promises to better my bank’s rate and do so with only one hard inquiry on my report. To top it off, Brian Kelly, the Finance or Office Manager or whatever his title but NOT the salesperson I dealt with, at one point used pressure tactics to try to get me to pick up the vehicle before my insurance was to become effective. Let me be clear, I made my insurance effective and picked up the vehicle one day before they said it would be ready and I was never advised they were having trouble with their finance company. Furthermore, NYAUTOFIND had sufficient time from the date I first came to see the vehicle to the date I picked it up; to advise me they had a problem with their finance company, Westlake Financial Services in California. They delivered the vehicle on that date and Nick, still not the salesperson I worked with, asked me nicely to please leave a positive review for them as he closed the driver’s door after I settled into the seat. Then “Rod Sterling” continued the narration of this story. Once Brian Kelly realized their finance company had not come through, he contacted me again and became aggressive and bluntly, just nasty, calling constantly and harassing me. As I stated, I was unaware there was a problem and as a matter of fact I called James, the finance person I dealt with at NYAUTOFIND on at least two occasions before and after I picked up the vehicle to get the exact name of the Finance Company for my insurance Company and again to ask when I would receive the finance paperwork so I could set up payments, etc. Immediately after NYAUTOFIND made me aware of the financing situation, I simply contacted my bank, received my financing and a check was sent to NYAUTOFIND, who incidentally is not an accepted dealer on the bank's list, so they had to be approved. Once NYAUTOFIND received my Bank's check, in record time, I never heard from Brian Kelley or anyone else again! Typical! All said, Nick, here is my “positively hope not to deal with NYAUTOFIND again” review and if anyone else decides to deal with NYAUTOFIND please be cautious! I only pray the vehicle, unlike the dealership, remains likable!
