🚫 ⚠️ Beware of Shady Practices!

🚫 ⚠️ Beware of Shady Practices! Bait-and-Switch Tactics in Full Effect! On Sunday, 9/22, I found a vehicle listed for $10,990 on the dealership’s website, as well as on other platforms like Cars.com and Carfax. Even the Carfax report confirmed this price. Since this dealership claims to follow a “one-price, no negotiation” policy, I was confident this would be the actual price. I called first thing Monday to confirm the vehicle was available, and it was. I then rented a car one way from Minneapolis (1.5 hours each way) and drove down, fully prepared to buy the car and drive it home. After test-driving the car and deciding to purchase, the sales rep calculated the tax, title, and other fees. But when he presented the final total, I saw the vehicle price had magically increased to $12,990. Assuming it was a mistake, I pointed out that the price was $10,990, as listed. That’s when Dave, the manager, stepped in and claimed the price was actually $12,990 due to an “error” on their website. To make matters worse, Dave still wanted to "make a deal" and asked, “What price would you be satisfied with?” Seriously? $10,990, the price you have listed on your own website! While I was standing there, I even showed him the live price on their website at $10,990, yet he refused to honor it. This wasn’t some fleeting typo; hours later, the price was still listed as $10,990, making it clear this isn’t a simple mistake. If it were a genuine error, wouldn’t they have fixed it immediately? There was absolutely no acknowledgment of the 4+ hours of my time completely wasted driving down for nothing, not to mention the wasted money on a rental car and gas. Dave and this entire company should be ashamed of themselves for conducting business like this. This was a classic bait-and-switch tactic, hoping that a buyer won’t walk away over a couple of thousand dollars. I drove down from the Twin Cities, check in hand, ready to buy, and was met with nothing but dishonesty. What’s worse is that other recent reviews (Lenore Kolar's review from Aug 2024) describe the exact same experience. This dealership clearly engages in deceptive practices. If you’re considering doing business with them—especially if you’re traveling from out of town—stay far away!

I want to thank all the salespeople at Rochester Car Clearance for making the car buying experience very quick and easy. David, Steve and A.J. were all great and worked as a team. I had an issue after buying my new vehicle. They were great and helped me with the issue. I would definitely buy from again.

Great Dealership

Thanks Dave, really enjoying my Ford Escape

I shopped several stores before deciding to purchase from Rochester Car Clearance Center. I found the vehicle I was looking for and payed a lower price than any other dealer. The staff was very helpful both before and after the sale. I totally enjoy enjoy my new car and would by here again!

Straight forward - vehicles priced to move.

Straight forward salesperson and sales manager. Super nice and honest. Great prices to move their vehicles quickly as they support many of their brand name dealerships.

A satisfied buyer

Jason was upfront concerning defects on the vehicle. He offered suggestions for repairs and possible fixes. I drove the vehicle back to our home in Le Center. The only fault showin wa ABS..turned our to be missing tone ring tooth..easy fix. I appreciate the honesty shown by Jason..

Very helpful and very nice would highly recommend

We live 3 hrs away and they took pictures of the vehicle and sent them of everything that was wrong with it. They were also very up front with us on what was wrong with the vehicle. Cause we were looking for a vehicle for our business Very friendly and nice to work with.

Steve and Dave were great to work with. This was our 3rd car we bought from this dealership. Couldn't ask for better service anywhere. Their prices and business practices keep us coming back.

No Pressure

Dave was super helpful. He was able to tell us about the car's history and what recent maintenance was performed. Dave stayed late to finalize the deal so we could drive the car home the same day.
