This has been the worst experience buying a vehicle.

This has been the worst experience buying a vehicle. We have owned a Wagoneer for two years and have had nothing but issues out of the Wagoneer. First, it was the air conditioning that went out, then it was several error codes, and in addition to it, just not starting in the middle of a parking lot. When we called the dealership, they said this is normal. I find nothing about a vehicle that is expensive like a Wagoneer to be normal. Now, the batteries are dead and now we need to spend $1000 to replace the batteries after only having the vehicle for two years. It appears that the dealership does not value the fact that we have purchased two vehicles from them. I am not asking for them to cover all cost of everything. However, this car has had nothing but issues for the two years we’ve owned it.

Dealer response

Your review does not reflect the reality of how we’ve handled your situation. Over the 70,000 miles you’ve owned your Wagoneer, you’ve had a few issues, and Heartland has stepped up every time. Most recently, when your husband called on a Friday night saying the vehicle wouldn’t start and you needed transportation, we immediately arranged assistance. By Saturday morning, we sent a driver two hours to you with a loaner vehicle, loaded your Wagoneer, and brought it two hours back to the dealership. First thing Monday morning, it went into service. We diagnosed bad batteries, replaced them, and did not charge you for the transport, the tow, or the delivery of the loaner. Given these facts, your statement that we “do not value” your business after you purchased two vehicles from us is baseless. We went above and beyond, and your characterization of our efforts is unfair and inaccurate. If you want to discuss the facts further, I’m available. Grant White

Consumer response

At what point did you suggest that we would have to pay an additional 600.00 for the pick up and transport? After the fact… this was not clearly stated before pick up. Normally a service department would indicate what the fees are before you do the job. So that should be on you if you did not tell a customer about the fees upfront. Might I remind you that while the car CURRENTLY has 70,000 miles we have had issues with the Wagoneer from the start. About a year into having the car I was stranded in the target parking lot and needed to call for assistance. Then the air conditioning went out, and then had a ton of errors through the two years of ownership. I would not characterize that as a few issues on a very expensive brand new car. How about driving down 54 and having to pull over several times because the car was overheating. It was scary while having my kids in the car during this time. I can see where you think that’s “a few concerns “. This Wagoneer has been unreliable for my family as when you get into the car you never know if it will start or throw and error. Thank you for minimizing my concerns with “there have been a few problems” which yet again leans towards not caring for your customers. If a car won’t start I believe that’s a bigger issue than a few.

Was told Jeep was a certain price.

Was told Jeep was a certain price. Came back with down payment and checked paperwork and was a different price. Was told that it would be taken care of. Now they are saying that was in the details and it will not be taken care of. Very misleading on the pricing BEWARE!!!!

Misleading on the price.

Misleading on the price. Was told the price i saw was the price plus Dealer's fees. Got paperwork and different price. Was told would be taken care of. Afterall was said and done was told that it was not being taken care of and that they stand behind their stuff. Was told this was in details when it is not. It was a trade allowance that makes it out to be a finance rebate.

Wouldn't even give a 1 star , BIG FAT 0 !

Wouldn't even give a 1 star , BIG FAT 0 ! Bought a 2017 F150 , week out engine light came on, ran codes, both catalytic converters bad. Made appointment to bring it in, brought it back , less than 30 min later, called to come get it . Supposedly their only mechanic that works on fords/diagnostic and so on wasn't in. Mind you live over hour away. Then service writer lied that he was on the phone with Ford dealer and they could get the truck in that day. 🙄 Went to Ford dealership, nope big fat lie, he didnt talk with anyone about the truck . Thank God still was able to get diagnostic ran on the truck , confirmed, yup both cats bad. Then found out , prior to buying the truck , in the Ford database that a diagnostic was ran by them ( Heartland in Excelsior) showed bad cats and they just cleared the the codes knowing it take a few run cycles for engine light to kick back on So they knew the cats were bad. Truck shouldnt of even passed a inspection let alone to be sold .Service Dept is rude, Disrespectful. Thank God bought a extended warranty that cost over 4k . And that it's still under the 80k miles/8 year manufactured 880. They knew, they lied, swore they'd make it right and then refused to make it right ! Definitely dont buy used from them. Salesman was really nice, but it the end how much truth did he know about the truck? So big fat 0 for him also. Sincerely Disgusted with this dealership! Don't say your gonna make it right then refuse to and put it off on the Ford Dealership. You sold it knowing, you got caught in lies so you make it right, you fix the issue not the Ford dealership! Warranty pays the same to whomever. But in the end , thinking about it , I'd prefer your service department not even touch it. It's the whole matter of not even attempting to make it right in any way. Far from over with though ! There will be phone calls made higher up the food chain. You just don't screw people over like that. This wasn't a freak incident, they knew ! Your not a buy here, pay here Dealership. THIS WASN'T A 3K OR 5K USED VEHICLE SALE. DO BETTER !

Dealer response

I’m sorry that your experience has not been excellent. Please call 816-919-0770 to discuss. We are not familiar with that side of the story.

Dealer response

I would like to clarify a few things with you so I can address some things on our end. I also want to confirm that you are getting the truck fixed. If you could call Grant @ 816-919-0770 it would be appreciated.

Consumer response

Of course your not familiar with it. You have atleast 2 people trying to protect themselves. So of course not familiar with the full story , truth. Have contacted the dealership 5 times now. First time to notify them of check engine light that came on within a week of purchase. Have spoke with 3 different people. Your service writer / department if very rude and disrespectful. Have been basically told by the dealership service department, ( because a higher up couldn't take the time obviously to contact us directly) that it is fords issue and the dealership is not addressing it. Via the 8088 warranty. Well GREAT 👍🏻 THANK GOD ! IT IS THE WAY YOUR DEALERSHIP KNOWING, LIEING, AND NOT ADDRESSING IT AS YOU SHOULD HAVE ! ATLEAST ADDRESSING IT , THEN WE WOULD OF MADE THE DECISION WHO WAS GOING TO FIX IT. IF IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE 8088 THAT TRUCK WOULD BE BACK IN YOUR LOT , keys in hand while waiting on our lawyer. Call to discuss what? What are you going to do, transfer me to the hateful service guy again? Who yes i in return got rude with. Grew up around vehicles, have several master mechanics in my family/ friends , not stupid , dont talk to me as i am.

Extraordinary service.

Extraordinary service. Sent representative (Red) to finalize contract and more importantly go over the amenities, apps and service. Red spent an unusual amount of time building our knowledge about this incredible automobile!
