We recently purchased our Mitsubishi Outlander from Green

We recently purchased our Mitsubishi Outlander from Green Light Auto Wholesale in Daly City, and I can honestly say this was the best car-buying experience we've ever had. After scouring Autotrader, Cars.com, TrueCar, and dozens of dealer websites for probably over 50 hours over the course of 2 months, Green Light had the best price in the entire country for the vehicle we wanted. And unlike so many dealerships that advertise low prices and then sneak in thousands of dollars in unnecessary add-ons, Green Light had ZERO dealer add-ons. What you see advertised is exactly what you get. The process was completely transparent and pressure-free. We were given all the time we needed to inspect the car, and my wife and I were even able to test drive it on our own without a salesperson hovering. When they offered an extended warranty and we declined, they simply said "okay" and moved on -- no pushy sales tactics, no guilt trips, just respect. They also went above and beyond in working with our CARB grant and our credit union financing (through CUDL), making it easy to get the best rate possible. From start to finish, everything was straightforward and stress-free. At the end of the day, we got exactly what we were looking for at the best price in the country, with no games, no hidden fees, and no pressure. A huge thank you to everyone at Green Light, and especially to our salesman, Michael, for making this such a smooth and enjoyable process. If you're looking for a relaxed, no-xx, no-pressure car shopping experience, I can't recommend Green Light Auto Wholesale highly enough. We live two hours away, and it was absolutely worth the drive.

Very nice BMW i3 rex

We were looking for a fiat 500e and had a test drive in it, but then got drawn to a BMW i3 with range finder. What a very nice car. Staff (Dan) was extremely friendly as were the other young guys. I was a bit reluctant about the car at first because I had not done any research on it, but had a feeling I could trust them. The car drives like a dream with no issues. Came with brand new tires. Would really recommend them.

The owner Al Bastanmehr was dishonest.

The owner Al Bastanmehr was dishonest. Which is not how many, including myself, feel about him at first. But I have a more detailed description on Google Reviews and was limited by space here. I am an honest person and there are many people, community leaders and charitable groups that will confirm my character. I bought a Tesla Model S from his dealership. At first I thought Al was a good man, when he walked around the car and pointed out little imperfections I was immediately fond of this man. But he was doing this to draw attention away from the real issue with the vehicle. And he was hiding something that only someone in the industry would spot. All of the damage was pointed out to me when an expert in the industry, who is Tesla Certified, asked me if the car had been in a prior accident. I was told by Al that it had never been in an accident and he showed me the Car Facts or whatever that worthless report was called. The service department at the Tesla Dealership noticed the crack in the frame. After I found out about the damage, I called Al with the intention of having him handle getting the car fixed the right way. I paid a large amount of money for the vehicle, not a fair price with all the damage and poor repair work. But I like the car and I was hoping that Al would at the very least try to make things right. I was especially concerned that I had a safe vehicle to transport myself and my young children in. The complete opposite of what I had hoped for was what happened. Denial, shifting of blame and refusal to even discuss a way to get this issue resolved and salvage what could have been an easy path to be a decent human and do the right thing. Well in all fairness, at first he did give the illusion that he was concerned and wanted to help. Then lawyers were involved, and the car was going back to Al, but not a good deal for me. Still not resolved over a year later even though Al admitted some of these things after the fact. Al, you should be ashamed of yourself, you know what you did was wrong. You need to do the right thing.

Dealer response

Business ethics and honesty are my top priorities. Everyone who knows me will attest to that. The first thing I told Peter as soon as I received a call from him with his concern was: “let’s get it inspected and get an estimate and then go from there.” A few months later, with no response from him, I even followed up by text asking whether the inspection had been done. I was again ghosted. Lo and behold, a week later, I got a letter from a lemon law lawyer demanding $308,849.25 (what a joke). A few months of back and forth between lawyers, and probably realizing he has no case, Peter texted me saying he would prefer to keep the car but demanded some repairs be made or he would do exactly this, “make more noise.” My lawyer continued asking for inspection reports that evidenced the damage Peter kept referencing. Finally, in May 2022, Peter’s lawyer provided a report from Tesla (from June 2021) which stated “Customer states something hit him under car.” (hmm…interesting). Now, as a last ditch effort, Peter is leaving a negative review. Regardless of how and when the damage happened, this could have been resolved amicably without getting lawyers involved (btw, mine are way better).

Consumer response

Interesting how the fact that the car was sold with lots of damage that any professional in the business would have seen is never mentioned. The distractions used to keep me away from the front end damage are clear in hindsight. Good for you Al, your lawyer is better. I had no clue where to go or who to speak with to get this resolved and by the way, inspections were sent right away otherwise why were you able to come up with a settlement so quickly? Oh yeah the settlement was stacked in your favor where you could turn around and sucker some other unsuspecting car shopper. Then your slimy lawyer kept asking for more and more and more to delay things. Your car sales slime is showing Al. You are not ethical because I did call you and you basically denied everything. I have all the records and it all points to the same thing. You are a lying cheating xxxxxxx that sold me a damaged vehicle. All the other noise you are making is to distract from what actually happened. Oh and the extended warranty you sell is complete garbage. I hope nobody has to go thru what I went thru ever and that is the point of writing this. There are no ethics in this business, just salespeople looking to take advantage of someone with very little experience dealing with liars and cheaters like you. It’s all about profit, don’t worry that there are families that drive your substandard vehicles. Ha ethics? What a joke, you are a joke. You think people are going to believe you, another shady car sales xxxxxxx? As I said, I have the documents to prove everything and so do you and your lawyer. So I guess I lose because I trusted you, but the universe is going to get you eventually and I hope it really gets you good.

Consumer response

Also remember what this guy says in closing before doing business with him. His lawyers are better. So if you have any issues he will lawyer up and screw you the same way. Can you be sure what you are getting is an honest deal? Is the car damaged underneath where you can’t see? Better catch it quick or prepared to be buried in requests from his better lawyers. The only reason I am writing these comments is to help the next person. I have no skin in the game anymore. All I can do is warn others. I tried to get this resolved by calling and asking direct immediately. Dot get it twisted, Al is the one who didn’t want to be ethical. Shame on you Al. You know what you did, I hope you lose sleep and you burn in xxxx.

Don't trust the pictures the cars look very different in...

Don't trust the pictures the cars look very different in person. The staff was not very knowledgeable about the cars. There was damage to the interior of the vehicle. One of the cars had rust on the engine. I tried to negotiate because of the obvious flaws to the car no room to negotiate. Disappointed by this Dealership.

Can''t beat their service

Bought a used Kia Niro from them and it could not have been easier. Love the EV concept they support! Might not be the best location but keeps their overhead down and their prices are right. Very easy buying process and follow up on subsequent questions. Would recommend to everyone

Great place to find an EV or Hybrid

Looked and looked for an Audi A3 Sportback e-tron, and was ready to settle for one that had most of what I wanted, was an OK color and close to what I wanted to pay. The night before I was ready to make that purchase, GLAW advertised an A3 e-tron that had everything that I wanted, the perfect color, fewer miles and was $2,000.00 less than I would have paid for the not so perfect A3. After emailing Al and saying I would stop by the next day to test drive the car, I arrived to find the A3 waiting, freshly rinsed and ready for me to take for a spin. It was such an easy decision to make the purchase, and the deal was completed in less than an hour. No stress, no unanswered questions, got additional information about possible HOV stickers and all of it done with Covid precautions observed. This place is a gem. They deserve a better physical location, but the personnel and business model are top drawer!

Bought a Volt sight unseen and was very impressed!

Al and his staff deserve every bit of the high praise they receive in their reviews for the smooth experience and courteous service that they offer customers. I live in Kansas and bought an excellent Chevy Volt from them without ever setting foot in their office. Al responded to my emails/texts/calls in a timely manner, and patiently answered my numerous questions. He even suggested to have a third party inspect the car since I wouldn't be able to in person, and he offered to deliver the car to a mechanic of my choice for an unbiased opinion. The inspection proved that the condition was as fantastic as it looked in the pictures on their website. Al was transparent about the price and how the title transfer would be handled. The car and paperwork were delivered to my house in less than three days. Al even highlighted every spot on the docs that needed my signature. My Volt looks almost brand new, inside and out. Kudos to their detailing team. I've been driving it for a week and it performs flawlessly. Overall, I'm very impressed with Green Light AW, from the quality of their inventory to how quick and straightforward they make the buying process. If you're in the market for an electric vehicle, you should at least check them out. Even if they didn't sell EVs, I'd still consider Green Light AW just based on how they do business. Every dealership should be this pleasant to work with.
