A Diamond in the Ruff on 82nd Street

Despite some negative reviews in the past, I have seen this business actually listen to the feedback it receives and grow. I have bought three cars from them one in 2019, the second in 2020 the third in 2022, and they all still run great. The first time I walked on this lot I was skeptical because of the negative reviews and the general impression of 82nd but they had the Honda Accord I was interested in. This lot was up and coming in 2019, some things needed to be worked out with timing of getting plates etc, but the vehicle was fantastic and I still am having a great experience with it. I WILL ADD most of the negativity happened around COVID. For all companies, staffing issues, and mail issues during the pandemic led to a lack of excellence but we can all feel excellence is coming back strong, and for small businesses that actually value their customers like this one people have nothing to fear. That was reflected in my 2022 purchase. I did have a small issue with my car a month or so after purchase, however, Bobby the mechanic was able to point me in the right direction and even diagnose my problem, no cost, no hassle. No sneaky scam "give me a five star review, I'll fix your car" bs like my friend found at another prominent lot on this street. Simple business here, they show you the cost, and your options NEVER leaving you in the dark if you CHECK IN with them and do your part to communicate. That would never happen on an OFFERUP sale, or almost any other lot on 82nd--weeks after the sale. For used cars, this place is a lifesaver. Bad reviews I feel come because people have such a great customer experience they completely forget they are buying a USED car. Don't be swayed by the fact that maybe the customers car had an issue, used cars have issues. The concern is WILL THE COMPANY STAND BY YOUR SIDE? This company is fair honest and Google Reviews provide proof. Will recommend to family and friends!!!

Great service and friendly sales

I purchased a car from International Auto and the experience was great. The Manager was the one that helped me from beginning to end. There was no haggle or back and forth for a down and price. I was very pleased with the car and the service. Even after i purchased the car, they helped me with a minor repair 2 days later.

Make sure to get your title upfront.

I will try to be as fair as I can in this review, considering I am still fairly angry over the situation. I bought a car at the end of February from here. I negotiated though text, agreed to a price and paid cash, so it was a super simple transaction. They said they needed some time to get my title, I said no problem, they gave me a trip permit for 30 days. That expires. I ask them about my title, it's not in. I'm told I can come by and grab another trip permit, so I do. This goes on for months, they blame the DMV at first, then the auction house they got the car from. I never received a call from them, I always had to initiate and almost every time I would be told I would be called back later in the day and then never hear anything. Finally I call to ask for my money back but before i can, they offer me a full refund. That's something a legitimate, stand up company would do. They tell me to come in and get my refund. My wife and I live about 30 miles away, so we drive two cars to the dealership with our kids, and when we get there, all they did was take a copy of a piece of paper and tell us we had to wait, which I would have gladly done had he told me that in the first place without all the extra hassle. First, I'm supposed to come in that friday, then the next monday, then the next friday, then monday again and so on and so forth. For 3 weeks they dragged their feet, always pushing the day to get my refund back until, my title FINALLY shows up. I still want my refund because at this point, i feel like they were intentionally dragging their feet until the title showed up. I have been repeatedly lied to and no longer want to do business with them, but am told no, they can't give out a refund when they have a title. We argue about this for another week and I reluctantly agree to a $500 check and my title, mostly because dealing with this for half a year is too much. It took me 5 months to get this resolved. They did teach me a valuable lesson in this, and that is that what you hear about 82nd "dealerships" is true, and I will not be going back to this place, or any other on that road ever again. If you still insist on buying from these people, at least do this much: make sure they have your title before you give them your money.
