According to “Matthew the Internet manager” PREMIER NISSAN REFUSES TO SELL TO ANYONE WHO ISN’T LOCAL — from his text to me: “….there isn’t any real long term benefits to selling out of market. Therefore we aren’t really interested in making this deal.” Here’s the truth (as others have said)… if you won’t finance through them and/or trade in, they don’t want to sell to you (see: they want to take advantage of you with financing and trade in). Here’s what happened to me: I’ve been pricing out 2022 Nissan Rogues but some dealerships in Virginia have been selling over MSRP (ridiculous) so I went online to see dealerships in neighboring states. I saw there was a car I was interested in at Premier Nissan but Premier wouldn’t post the price — “contact for price.” So I contacted them but asked that they just email me the price and do they sell over MSRP? Instead “Matthew the Internet manager” emailed that I had to call him. I replied that I couldn’t call (I work) and to please email the price. No reply. So a couple of days later I called after work. And Matthew was super duper friendly and bragging that his out of state customers looovvvvvveeee that they don’t charge fees as high as Virginia… and he’ll contact me when they have the car I want (which he said more were coming in this month). Then the texts started… an oh gee whiz type “Do you have a trade in? Forgot to ask sorry” (he didn’t forget) and “And you’ll finance with us correct?” — what idiot will agree to finance through them without running numbers?? When I replied that I’d run the numbers and check with my bank too, I immediately got a long BAIT AND SWITCH that suddenly he couldn’t sell to me because the dealership won’t sell out of state because they “don’t feel it’s fair” to the WV locals. It’s BS. They want to take advantage of you with financing trade in. I’m sure Matthew is pressured to force financing down everyone’s throat … but I’m sure he also thought he could take advantage of a woman — treating me like an idiot. Who cares if you get a decent price on a vehicle if you end up paying more with terrible financing? Yikes this place
