I am writing this review to warn potential customers
I am writing this review to warn potential customers about the highly deceptive and frankly, illegal, pricing practices at AUTOLUX Elmont that the (BBB) & (FTC) should know about! I specifically identified a vehicle online and took multiple steps to confirm its advertised price before visiting. I called the dealership the day before my visit, and again on the morning to ensure the price advertised online was accurate. Each time, I was assured that the price was correct. Upon arrival at the dealership, I showed the sales representative a screenshot of the car and its advertised price. He explicitly confirmed that this was indeed the correct price for the vehicle. Feeling confident, I proceeded with the paperwork process. However, to my absolute shock and frustration, when we got to the final paperwork, an additional $8,000 was added to the agreed-upon value of the car. I took time a day off work, time out of my day, wasted 2 hrs sitting there for nothing. This was a blatant (bait-and-switch) tactic and a direct contradiction of what was advertised online and confirmed multiple times over the phone and in person. This is not just a waste of time; it's a deceptive and potentially illegal business practice. I spent considerable time and effort confirming details, only to be met with outright dishonesty at the final stage. Consumers should be aware that AUTOLUX engages in misleading pricing. I strongly advise anyone considering purchasing a vehicle from them to be extremely cautious and to reconsider doing business with a dealership that operates with such a lack of transparency and integrity. This kind of behavior is indeed illegal and against consumer protection laws, especially with the FTC's new CARS Rule FTC's CARS Rule: The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has enacted the "Combatting Auto Retail Scams" (CARS) Rule, which specifically addresses price transparency. This rule requires dealers to clearly disclose the "offering price" – the actual price anyone can pay for the car, excluding only required government charges (like taxes, title, and registration fees). This "offering price" must be disclosed in any advertisement or communication about a specific vehicle. “KNOW THE LAW BEFORE YOU WANT TO OPEN A CAR DEALERSHIP”

These people are crooks.
These people are crooks. My daughter and I flew from out of state to purchase a black 440 listed at $34,900. Prior to departing I spoke with a woman that told me I couldn’t put a deposit down without driving the car, but that it was available. I purchased two tickets and we arrived the next day. When we got to autolux we were told that the $34900 was a financing price reflecting the price after 20% down payment. The manager literally told me that the cash price, and I was paying cash, was $43,900. This after I spent $1000 in airline tickets. We eventually rented a car and drive to Richmond BMW in Virginia, and found the perfect M440i. Whether this is illegal or not, I have too much money and time to not let everyone I know know that this place is a scam. So, Autolux, my reviews and harassment starts now. Reimbursing me for my flights would be a good start to ending my reviews, but that’s no guarantee. As I said, too much money and too much time on my hands. Think instagram, X, Facebook, every online car sale website, and BMW North America, where I have some nice contacts that might find it interesting that your company is making BMW look bad. Thanks for letting me vent, and I hope you enjoy!!!

Stay away from Auto Lux.
Stay away from Auto Lux. Price on Cars.com for Auto Lux vehicles is contingent upon a 20% down payment. When you see a car for $20,000 they will demand $25,000 for it. False advertising. The manager admitted this practice is performed to get people in the door and to compete with other dealerships performing the same shady practices. Stay away from Auto Lux!

Purchasing a car from Autolux has been an absolute
Purchasing a car from Autolux has been an absolute nightmare. I bought a 2021 Dodge Charger Scat Pack from them on October 4, 2024, and have faced nothing but problems since day one. Here’s what you need to know before considering doing business with this dealership: Major Safety and Mechanical Issues: Severe shaking while braking was reported just weeks after purchase, requiring immediate replacement of brake rotors and pads. Despite being promised high-performance Dodge-specific parts, the issues persisted. After the "repairs," my car screeched and was unsafe to drive. A local mechanic later confirmed that the parts had been improperly installed and were of low quality, resulting in additional damage and requiring out-of-pocket emergency repairs ($458.51), which Autolux refused to reimburse. Lack of Communication and Accountability: I had to wait weeks to receive my license plates, leaving the car undrivable after the temporary plates expired. Autolux provided no clear explanation or timely resolution. The dealership continuously delays responses, requiring me to follow up relentlessly. Their tone has often been dismissive and exasperated, leaving me to feel unheard and disrespected. Blaming the Customer: When the car was brought to Elite Mitsubishi (their approved service center) on December 23, 2024, I was told the brake damage was due to driving with the emergency brake engaged. This was blatantly incorrect, as confirmed by my NJ mechanic and my own experience. Despite evidence to the contrary, including detailed explanations and professional assessments, Autolux and their service center refused to take responsibility. Poor Customer Service: Every step of this process has been a fight to get answers, repairs, and basic customer service. Autolux seems more interested in wearing down customers with delays and excuses than addressing issues with care and professionalism. Advice to Potential Buyers: If you value your time, money, and sanity, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for a used car. The stress, financial burden, and lack of resolution I’ve endured are not worth it. Autolux refuses to take accountability for their mistakes, blames the customer for issues caused by their incompetence, and fails to prioritize safety or satisfaction. Save yourself the grief—find a more reputable dealership. This has been a horrific car-buying experience. I cannot stress enough how disappointing and infuriating it has been to deal with Autolux. Avoid them at all costs.

I contacted the dealer through Cars.
I contacted the dealer through Cars.com, and they called me back. When I asked for the out-the-door cash price, they said they couldn’t provide it over the phone. Instead, they insisted I come in person and speak with the manager to see if they’d “make an exception.” On top of that, if I choose to finance, they require me to use their financing options. This is completely ridiculous and feels like shady business practices. Avoid them or do thorough research before going. I’m expected to drive 200 miles just to find out if the manager will agree? What a joke!

AVOID this company at all costs.
AVOID this company at all costs. Especially if you are from out of state. Don't waste your time even if the car is exactly what you want. I was paying cash too. Advertised prices are a 🚩.

Darren helped me.
Darren helped me. Have to say - he was the most friendly, professional, and kind salesperson I’ve ever worked with. When he gave me the price of my car, I knew it was the best price possible. I would strongly recommend asking for him when you come here.
