For your next purchase, consider other dealership
For your next purchase, consider other dealership centers. Incident #1 It is a tradition that when salesmen want to sell you stuff, they will do anything to earn your business. After making a purchase, a lot would still take care of your post-transaction concerns, issues or ordeal, but not Sheehy Toyota of Laurel. In 2020, my wife and I bought a 2019 Toyota Camry from a Salesman called Johnny. Before and after the expiration of the 30-day Tags, we struggled without success to get another set, even temporary, that would carry not-outdated dates. They made us go back and forth. There was a time, we could not drive the car just because they couldn’t get their acts together. Incident #2 A few months ago, we decided to trade the 2019 Camry in for a 2025 Toyota Crown. On the Camry, we paid for a 7-year VIP which was transferable. During the trade-in transaction, the financial person, Jacob, said the system what should automatically recalculate our credits for application to the figures of the new car was down. He gave us his business card to call him or send email so he could take care of that. It was a lie. We called and called; he did not pick our calls. We sent multiple emails with no response. We also reached out to the VIP support number at the back of the card – no response. We went back into the dealership to meet Jacob, he said he did not receive the emails but that he would take care of it, and we should go. Up till now, no communication from them. Sheehy Toyota of Laurel would do anything to get your business but, after that, pray you do not need them because, if you do, you are on your own.

I’m very satisfied that I was able to use some coupons
I’m very satisfied that I was able to use some coupons with my recent 60K service. Thanks to Jessica. It’s just the very long wait that’s frustrating but otherwise I definitely still bring my Highlander to Sheehy for service. Also I wished the shuttle service was not removed.

The dealership makes buying a used vehicle easy.
The dealership makes buying a used vehicle easy. I was able to complete my transaction on-line. Once the purchase agreement was complete, Sheehy held my car until I could pick it up a few days later. The sales and finance staff (Ony and Yousef) were friendly, gave me a virtual tour of the vehicle I was considering, made sure I was able to use the financing I found preferable, and treated me equitably. The general manager (Chris) was a consummate professional and it's obvious he cares about his staff and his customers. The dealership is clean, easy to get to off the highway, and has a cafe with real food and espresso drinks (not just vending machines) - which is a perk if you're waiting for your vehicle. Shawn made sure my time at the dealership picking up my vehicle was without hassle.

WARNING - DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.
WARNING - DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. After only two weeks, my new Corolla Cross Hybrid vehicle started having mechanical issues. I'm traveling at the moment and the service provider at another location told me that the problem was due to contaminated fuel, which has damaged the hybrid battery and other components of the vehicle. I've only filled up the car twice in the past two weeks, since purchasing the vehicle at high traffic gas stations. When I called Sheehy to determine how best to resolve the issue, they told me that they couldn't do anything because they didn't build the car. This has been a very bad experience with very poor service from this dealer. I would recommend staying far away from this dealership. I have filed complaints with the Maryland Consumer Protection Division and Better Business Bureau. I will also be hiring a lawyer to bring a suit against Sheehy Toyota of Laurel and/or Toyota Corporate.

You've now posted this same complaint across several platforms, and we’ve responded with the same facts each time. Let’s be clear: In your own words, you acknowledge that you filled the car twice after purchasing it. The issue did not appear until May 4, 16 days later. That timeline strongly supports the diagnosis you received: contaminated fuel — not a manufacturing defect and not something caused by Sheehy Toyota. You also state that the vehicle was diagnosed by another Toyota dealership, not Sheehy Toyota of Laurel. As such, we were not involved in the diagnostic process, and we did not determine the cause of the issue or the denial of warranty coverage. If you believe the damage was due to no fault of your own, we again recommend that you contact your auto insurance company, as contaminated fuel is often covered under comprehensive coverage. As for the extended warranty cancellation — we’ve already offered to assist, and we’ll still gladly process that if you reach out to us directly. We understand your frustration, but your accusations are misdirected. This was not a case of being “sold a lemon.” The issue stems from fuel contamination after the sale, based on your own timeline and third-party diagnosis. We’ve been transparent and fair throughout this process.
The timeline above does NOT strongly support the diagnosis of fuel contamination. Contaminated fuel would’ve led to engine issues very soon after refueling (hours, maybe 1-2 days). However, problems didn’t start until 13 days after the last refuel. In addition, the hybrid battery would not be affected by contaminated fuel. It’s much more likely that this vehicle has a mechanical defect and your dealership has provided very poor customer service to find resolution for this matter. In addition, your process for canceling the extended warranties was inconvenient and unnecessary. You make it difficult to try to get customers to keep the warranty. It’s a scam. I reiterate that consumers should not purchase a vehicle from this dealership. Go to a dealer who will provide good customer service after purchase, not just during the purchase process. UPDATE (05/22/2025): I filed a complaint/inquiry with the state's division of standards and city's inspection services to conduct an inspection of the Shell station (last gas station where I filled up). Their inspectors found NO evidence of contaminated fuel and they've not received any reports in the past few years about contaminated gas at this location or any location in the area for that matter. Moreover, they stated that the station had the best records of any gas station they've ever come across. Thus, the moral of the story, don't ever believe a Toyota service shop when they try to weasel out of getting corporate to cover a repair under warranty. Moreover, as I originally suspected, Sheehy Toyota of Laurel sold me a LEMON.

Did not take long to complete. No hard sell of add ons but what they were expensive and they made it seem like a must have

I took my 2024 Toyota Tacoma to Sheehy Toyota in Laurel
I took my 2024 Toyota Tacoma to Sheehy Toyota in Laurel because the screen blacked out. The first time they did a preliminary test and said it was my aftermarket dash cam, but requested doing more tests on another day. I scheduled it for the following Thursday, March 13th. I dropped the vehicle off the afternoon before. I was told Thursday, the vehicle was ready to pick up. I spoke with John Bradbenner, who is listed as a service manager. As we were talking about the screen problem, I told him the hood was scratched. He took pictures, said they would fix it and probably would buff out. John said to call the next week about the screen problem and to schedule a time to get the hood fixed. I have called several times, leaving messages. No response. Called and spoke to a customer service manager who was to call John. NO RESPONSE again. Left a message with the General Manager and guess what, NO RESPONSE. Just left a message for the service manager, Mr. Jacobs, over the whole service department. Told them to call me by 4pm today or I am calling Toyota. I should mention this is not the first time they did something like this. I had a 2008 Tacoma they said needed over $5000 worth of repairs needed. Took it to my mechanic and he went over the vehicle and said the only thing really needed was the air filters changed. It didn't need new tires, didn't have an oil leak or anything else.
