Stay Away!!!

Bunch of lying overpriced idiots working for brenengen service. Called because of fuel leaks, told them right where it was coming from. They said there is an extended service warranty for that specific issue. So cancelled my appointment elsewhere that was going to charge me $220 for the repair. Take to Brenengen West Salem for the repair, they tell me what I told the , fuel line leak. And it’s not a covered part. Cost would be $399.50. Get bent. Was told that the line alone costs $210. Said xxxxxxxx and showed them the same part from local parts place at $65. He said sorry I don’t make the prices and asked me to sign something. Brenengen has lowest price guarantee on purchasing a vehicle because they xxxx you for repair, even if you and your family has purchased every vehicle from them and has it serviced there too. Hope my fuel leak at the building finds a spark.

Dennis Zee horrible customer service

I have bought five cars from Brenengen over the years and was about to buy my sixth. My father has bought two cars and we always had great service whether in sales or service. My mother just passed away which she purchased a new 2011 Chevy Camaro from Brenengen with cash. My Dad wanted to sell the car back to Brenengen, since he had no use for it, but both parties couldn't together on a price, so the salesman suggested consignment as an option. The car has very low miles. My Dad thought that was a great option and was fine with Brenengen's commission structure if the car sells. Once my Dad and the salesman went to see Dennis Zee (General Manager of the West Salem store) all he said was "I'm not selling that car!" No reason why he came to that conclusion. No heart, no compassion, simply in not as many words "take the car and get out." My Dad and I are both in heavy construction equipment sales, and both thought Dennis Zee's approach to the situation was poor and very amateur. If we did that in our line of sales we would lose that customer forever and possibly others if that correspondence got around to contractor's in our respective industry. I now live down in the Madison area but always made the trip back to Brenengen to purchase my vehicles. Ironically I was just about to come up and purchase another Silverado, but that new sale just went to a dealer locally in Madison tonight. I remember purchasing my first Silverado from a Nick Brenengen in 2007 when he was in Sparta. Since then I have purchased two Cruze's, another Silverado, and a Traverse. They lost the third Silverado today and they will not get any of my business in the future after what happened. Not to mention I have two brothers that thought highly of this dealership and I'm sure they will follow suit once they hear what happened. Brenengen has great people working for them, especially Mark Schroeder, and I believed I was a "customer for life" as their moto says. It only took one in-direct experience through my father and Dennis Zee to completely ruin the relationship. I have heard other negative things about Dennis Zee from many people specifically located on the ridge, but never thought much about it until I saw it first hand. I'm sure if he explained why he came to his decision to not take the vehicle on consignment my Dad would understand even if he still disagreed with it, but there was no such communication or discussions of alternatives. I never thought I would be writing this review of a dealership that I've had such great experiences at and bragged about it to others. Now I'll be talking to others from a different perspective about this dealership. It's ashamed how Dennis Zee's arrogant behavior can ruin business relations.

Thank you Chris Young & the Service Department!

Great customer service and repair! Chris Young is an abosolute professional! Wonderful service repair department! Took the time to fit us in the schedule on a Saturday afternoon to repair our vehicle so we could travel out of town the next day for work. Thank you!

Service department

Service department is terrible. I used to use them all the time and they were great but the last couple years has went way down hill. The last time I used them I took my truck there to have the oil changed, rotate tires and fix an SES light. Picked up the truck and the SES light is still shining bright and the tires had definitely not been rotated, makes me wonder if they even bothered to change the oil.

Can sell cars but service is lacking

I was unhappy going to the Sparta store so I went back to where I bought the car in West Salem. The first place didn't put the dipstick all the way down. This caused the engine light to come on. Because I was unhappy in Sparta, I thought I would try the West Salem store. After finding the problem with the dipstick, and checking on a separate problem. They didn't secure a trim piece all the way and it was hitting on the tire and was bouncing up and hitting the inner fender. This all happened within a few days. There is more, but this covers the worst. I am new to dealerships and this is disappointing.

Horrible Customer Service - Terrible Service Department

It takes one to two weeks to get an appointment for an oil change. They sold my 75 year old father a Ford Edge and talked him into purchasing an additional extended bumper to bumper service warranty, which they assured him would cover anything which goes wrong with his vehicle until 75,000 miles. The driver's side door sensor has gone out. It is a known issue on the Ford Edge with over 2,000 complaints to Ford and NTSA. There has not been an official recall on this part because there has not been any loss of life due to the failure of the door sensor. When it goes out you cannot lock your vehicle and the dome lights will not go out, causing your battery to drain. They want my father to pay $227 to fix an issue they know is a manufacturing defect, admit is a manufacturing defect, but because it is not an official recall will not cover. The additional "bumper to bumper" service warranty they talked my father into purchasing mysteriously does not cover a defective door sensor.

Wrong info about A/C

I brought my car in to have the A/C looked at and told them it didn't work. I said it was blowing out hot air. It took them over an hour to tell me that the computer said there was nothing wrong. I told them there must be something wrong since it is blowing out ait. More time went by and they finally told me the compressor was cracked. They actually told me they could fill it and I would have air conditioning. I said no because it will all leak out of the crack. It cost $100 to find that information out and about 2 hours. Not sure if I was treated this way because I'm a woman or they just don't know what they're doing.
