My experience with Drive Direct was disappointing at

My experience with Drive Direct was disappointing at best. I have bought two vehicles from their sister company, Toyota Direct, in the past and had only good experiences there, so when I was looking for a used car I went straight to Drive Direct. And I certainly regret that decision now. Our experience started on October 31, 2024. Our salesperson Tom was wonderful, and he helped us find a good vehicle in our price range. The issues started in December, when I had not received the memorandum title that I needed to get plates for my vehicle. Long story short, they had purchased the vehicle from an auto auction and they did not have the title. I bought my own second temporary tag while waiting for the company to find the title and was told I would receive reimbursement for it, which I did not. A third temporary tag required an Attorney General complaint, and this took time to process. During this time, I could not legally drive my vehicle, and when I expressed concern for driving a vehicle without current tags, I was reassured by two separate Drive Direct staff that it’s not a moving violation to have expired tags, and if I did get a ticket that they would reimburse me for the cost. They did furnish me with a free loaner car during this time when requested. In mid-February, after giving the company ample time to find the title, it was determined that it would not be found and I would need to return my vehicle. I had made 3 payments to my bank already, and spent lots of time calling Direct Direct, the BMV, and the Attorney General’s office. I arrived with an itemized list of the things that I had paid for (including both temporary tags). After looking at two vehicles with Tom, we moved forward with a purchase agreement on one of them. All the costs that I had incurred with the first vehicle were deducted from this agreement, which I was pleased with. Our experience with Tom that day was also pleasant and he was very helpful. The next chapter of issues started in March, as I had to call to request that they send the memorandum title. I then called the bank to make my first payment and it was determined that the paperwork was never finished at Drive Direct and I didn’t actually have a loan yet. After lots of back and forth, a new bank loan was secured with a different bank, but this was dangerously close to the time my temporary tag was due to expire. For my trouble, the finance agent stated that Drive Direct would get my plates for me and deliver them, which I was thankful for. However, after much more back and forth and broken promises, I ended up driving the vehicle with expired tags for over a week before I finally chose to get my plates myself. I was told that I would receive a check for the cost as well as the new memorandum title, which I never received. My multiple attempts to reach out to Drive Direct about these issues were left unanswered. I was able to get the memorandum title myself, thankfully, on May 16th, which ended this saga. In total, I personally called Drive Direct and their staff 42 times, as well as many calls and emails to the Attorney General’s office and visits to the BMV to resolve issues that should have never been issues in the first place. What should have been a routine vehicle purchase experience spanned almost 7 months. The vehicle we have now is wonderful, but this entire experience was so frustrating and disappointing, so I warn others to be very vigilant if you decide to do business with Drive Direct.

Drove 4 hours to look at a car and was told it was in

Drove 4 hours to look at a car and was told it was in great shape never been smoked in and very clean. Had mounds of dust in air vents, smelled like cigarettes (most cars I looked at here did) very dirty, cigarette burns in back seat. Wasted trip. Very disappointed

Me and my husband were looking for a used (new to us) car

Me and my husband were looking for a used (new to us) car for our family of five. We went to the dealership and left that day with what we thought was a great car that fit our families needs. A week and a half later the dealership called us and told us we had to bring the car back as they could not secure the title for the car. My husband had to take a day off work to return the car to the dealership and try and find something that would fit our budget and needs. After they messed up selling us a car they could not get a title for they were unwilling to work with him or negotiate a deal for him with another car, and they did not prioritize him while he was at their establishment. In total the day he took the car back he was there for around 6 hours. To top it all off two days later after this dealership told us we couldn’t buy the original car and had to return it to the dealer due to titling issues the car was available again online for sale at $1000 less than when we would have been purchasing it for. My husband did call the dealership and they did confirm the car was there and for sale.

BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE! They will ensure that zero negotiations are had on a used car all while they do the bare minimum to make a car 'sellable'. Sold me a Subaru Forester with a hole in the muffler and bad control arms (which for those that dont know you need these in good working order to steer the car) among a host of other things that are in poor condition or will need addressed. I couldn't give Zero Star rating, so I guess they default to a 1 star. Steering or being able to control your vehicle on the road safely is apparently not important to Drive Direct, this is a MAJOR safety issue and I've had multiple mechanics recommend getting this fixed before operating again. Not only is it a safety issue, it is expensive (which is why they declined it at their own shop after recognizing it needed done), it is literally flagged on their service order as recommended but says - declined. Yea wonder why, because they can be shady this way and sell you something that you'll need to put a couple grand in as soon as you drive off the lot. Driving with damaged control arms is very damaging to other parts in your vehicle, so all the more reason to get it fix now as it is creating other problems. Also, they apparently do not switch out the filters in your vehicle when they complete their oil change, seems easy enough but I'm sure $ played a part in this as well, so you will have dirty filters (cabin & engine) as you drive off the lot. Can't forget about the hole in the muffler! I thought it sounded loud and was producing excessive smoke when driving it. But, the sales guy (Paul Winstead) assured me it didn't have anything to do with the engine or transmission...which is fine, but that still didn't address the noise, 'O Subarus are just different'. We could not have their mechanics look at it during this time as it was Saturday and they are not in on Saturday, which is probably a good thing since they 'missed' all these items in the first place or better yet neglected them... turns out it has a hole in it after being inspected further. I'm sure that all the sales people in there are more than comfortable driving off the lot with a hole in a car muffler they just bought or to have bad control arms that need the bushing replaced before being sold. Sorry, I don't believe that would be acceptable to most people paying north of $10,000 for a used car, this is completely unsafe and to think they had us drive an unsafe vehicle off the lot with our kids is completely baffling. If the vehicle needed too much work to make a dollar off of it, then get rid of it! Don't sell these cars to people paying their hard earned cash for a moneypit with MAJOR issues like this just to make a buck. What a horrible way to run a business! I will never recommend this awful place and wish I had gone with a more trustworthy dealership. Or I wish I had read some of these reviews prior to going over there, as it doesn't seem like I'm in the minority here. SO, I was offered $100 from manager Rich Persiani to get the muffler fixed. Yay... $3,000 worth of work off the lot, sure $100 ought to appease me. Thanks for really taking care of your customer Rich! Drive Direct - you might want to take this statement down from your website 'we have devoted ourselves to helping and serving our customers to the best of our ability. We believe the cars we offer are the highest quality and ideal for your life needs'. Instead you could put something like 'we swindle our customers to the best of our ability and cut corners as much as possible to trick you into thinking what you are buying is a quality product' - Yea that sounds much more accurate! Moral of the story, if you thinking about looking at a vehicle from Direct Direct Columbus, please save yourself some time and hassle and look elsewhere. Best of luck car shopping!

I purchased a vehicle with a warranty and was told I could call and cancel it at any time. the only problem is that I have called multiple time for 3 weeks and NO ONE has returned my calls. I would think that if you spend $25K with a business, they would at least return my calls!

Searched for quite some time for a specific vehicle.

Searched for quite some time for a specific vehicle. Found what I was looking for at Drive Direct. Chatted with salesman Nick. He sent me a walk around video. Vehicle was priced on cars.com for 41,995. Sticker in window reflected the same price. I changed my schedule around to get to Columbus to pick up this vehicle the next day since they would not hold the truck even with a deposit. I was proactive in taking care of the online credit app the night before. I was told the salesman would hold onto the key and would let me know if anyone was coming to look at the vehicle before I could get there. Half the day went by, and I figured I better check in since I had not heard anything and because I had made transportation arrangements immediately after getting off work today. The salesman informed me that he did not do anything with my credit app because they raised the price by 3,000.00. No call, nothing. Not sure that anyone wants to do business with a disingenuous company like Direct Drive. Give your business to a company that truly values their customers and would never do such a thing. Shame on you Direct Drive.

My wife and I weren’t anticipating on coming to this

My wife and I weren’t anticipating on coming to this dealer to look for a car but plans changed last minute and we were glad they did. Mark West assisted us in picking the perfect car that fit all our needs and checked our boxes. We spent several hours there going through different cars and he pulled paperwork and worked on prices for some of the cars we appreciated the commitment and help he offered.
