BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE! Do not buy from this dealership. The prices they advertise online are misleading and not what you’ll actually pay once you sit down to sign. They lure customers in with attractive “as is” pricing, only to add hidden and supposedly “mandatory” fees at the last minute — a classic bait-and-switch tactic. I was interested in a car listed online for $54,699, and they even called me to let me know about a recent price drop. I agreed to buy the car at that price, received an estimate with taxes, registration, and a documentation fee (totaling around $60,000), and placed a deposit based on that amount. Everything seemed fine until I arrived to finalize the deal. That’s when the finance manager told me the vehicle had been “certified.” I never requested certification, nor was it ever mentioned before this meeting. What he failed to disclose was that they were now charging nearly $4,000 extra for that certification — even though Genesis only charges $1,500 for it. He quickly rushed me through the iPad paperwork, had me initial in several places and even initialed for me at times. When I noticed the total loan amount was over $55,000, I asked why the numbers were higher than agreed. He insisted that certification was mandatory and could not be removed — which is completely false. Certification is a dealer add-on, not a requirement. Changing the price after advertising an “as is” deal is illegal under both federal and Connecticut consumer protection laws. Dealers are required to clearly list all mandatory costs in the advertised price, excluding only taxes and registration. When I called them out on this, the finance manager became defensive and argumentative. Instead of addressing my concerns, he talked over me, twisted the facts, and ultimately refused to honor the original deal. I even offered to pay for certification at cost ($1,500) just to move forward, but management declined and canceled the sale altogether and said they would charge me cancellation fees even though they are the ones who changed the agreed upon price and cancelled the deal.

BUYER BEWARE!

BUYER BEWARE! Do not buy from this dealership. The prices they advertise online are not what you actually pay once you walk through the door. They lure you in with attractive “as is” pricing and then try to upsell you with hidden, “mandatory” add-ons at the last minute.I was interested in a car they had just reduced to $54,699. They even called to tell me about the price drop. I agreed to buy it at that price and was given a breakdown including taxes, registration, and a documentation fee — totaling around $60,000. I put down a deposit based on that number and scheduled an appointment to finalize the purchase. When I met with the finance manager, Eduardo, he said he had “good news” — the vehicle had been certified. I never asked for this, nor was it ever mentioned before. What he didn’t say upfront was that they were charging me almost $4,000 extra for it, even though Genesis only charges $1,500 to certify this model. He rushed me through the paperwork on an iPad, had me initial quickly (sometimes even doing it for me), and didn’t clearly explain what I was signing. When I realized that the additional fees were over $10,000 and that my loan amount was over $55,000, I asked why the total was so high. He claimed it wasn’t — but the math didn’t lie. I had agreed to buy the car “as is,” put $10,000 down, and expected to finance about $50,000 after taxes and fees as agreed upon. Instead, he slipped in the extra certification and other junk fees. When I said I didn’t want the certification, he insisted it was mandatory and the car couldn’t be “uncertified.” That is absolutely false. Upon further investigation, I learned that certification is an optional dealer add-on and that adding such fees after advertising an “as is” price is a bait-and-switch tactic, which is illegal under both federal and Connecticut consumer protection laws. Dealers must advertise transparent, all-in pricing — certification cannot suddenly be added after a deal has been made. When I questioned their practices, the finance manager became defensive, talked over me, and twisted the truth. I offered to pay the certification fee at cost ($1,500) just to move forward, but management refused and canceled the deal entirely. Their lack of transparency, dishonestly and unprofessionalism is unbelievable.

Genesis of Milford will not be getting my business.

Genesis of Milford will not be getting my business. I visited the dealership for the first time to have my car serviced. Simple routine maintenance on my 2025 GV70. After waiting for 3 hours and no one speaking to me during that time, I decided to check on the status of my car just to be told that I was never checked in. I have a text showing that I was checked in, but was told that that’s only one of a few check-ins that need to happen. They didn’t even touch my car during that time and didn’t know that I was even waiting. No one spoke to me to even check on why I was waiting for so long. Poor customer service. Unacceptable!

This was the smoothest car buying experience I've ever

This was the smoothest car buying experience I've ever had, and I've bought alot of cars over the years. They listed their sale price online and stuck to it. No dealer xx add ons or questionable fees to dig through. Totally transparent. Chad Green and the rest of the staff are complete professionals. All dealers should strive to be like Genesis of Milford!

The Most Amazing Experience, Hensley Bisono is the Best

The Most Amazing Experience, Hensley Bisono is the Best that there is, I went to 3-4 other locations and they did not compare at all. I was never treated like a customer that mattered. I tried to purchase my SUV for over 4 weeks, yes each day money in hand ready to go. They were not cooperative and it wasn't about just giving me a good price. It was adhering to the deal proposed by them. Hensley had my vehicle delivered in a week. It was an hour drive for me, but well worth it.!!!!!

Dan Vargas was our sales person and what a pleasure it

Dan Vargas was our sales person and what a pleasure it was to work with him. Completely professional with a great sense of humor. He was able to get both sides to agree which at times was questionable. We were able to complete the purchase with both sides being satisfied. He is not the usual high pressure car salesmen we all have heard about but low keyed and very knowledgeable. My wife and I highly recommend using Dan Vargas on your next auto purchase.
