DO NOT DO IT!

DO NOT DO IT!! On Volo’s “NO WARRANTY” sheet They added a Volo specific page that says:” VOLO INC. (D/B/A VOLO AUTO MUSEUM) (VOLO) HAS BEEN DEDICATED TO THE DISPLAY AND SALE OF MUSCLE, COLLECTOR OR MOVIE VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES ARE SOLD FOR DISPLAY AND OCCASIONAL DRIVING (NEVER TO BE USED FOR DAILY DRIVING). ALL SALES ARE "AS IS" AND "WHERE IS.". PURCHASER IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION OF CONDITION, AUTHENTICITY, AND COMPLETENESS OF ANY PURCHASED VEHICLE. ANY AND ALL STATEMENTS, REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY TYPE OR KIND WHATSOEVER MADE BY VOLO EMPLOYEES OR STAFF, INCLUDING THOSE PRINTED IN CATALOGS, BROCHURES, SIGNS, WINDOW CARDS, VERBAL STATEMENTS, OR THOSE APPEARING ON VOLO'S WEB SITE, REPRESENT ONLY VOLO OPINIONS.” PURCHASER SHOULD DISREGARD STATEMENTS OR REPRESENTATIONS CONCERNING THE AUTHENTICITY OR CONDITION OF THE PURCHASED VEHICLE INCLUDING THAT THE VEHICLE IS RUST FREE. PURCHASER AGREES AND ACKNOWLEDGES THAT VOLO AND/OR CONSIGNOR OF THE PURCHASED VEHICLE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, CONCERNING AND IN RELATION TO MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS, CONDITION, ORIGINALITY, AUTHENTICITY, ORIGIN OR PROVENANCE, MATCHING NUMBERS, PREVIOUS USE OR OWNERSHIP, MANUFACTURING OR RESTORATION PROCESSES, YEAR OR AGE, SERIAL NUMBER, MAKE, MODEL, OPTIONS, TOOLS, COMPONENTS OR MILEAGE OF ANY PURCHASED VEHICLE. So, they’re telling you in their own contract to NOT believe a word that Jay says in any of these videos or on the website’s statement of condition of the vehicle. This also means that the “appraisal” that JAY himself creates and charges you $100 for is BOGUS... I purchased a 1966 Chevelle from Volo, it was advertised as a Body off Frame RESTORATION. The car wouldn't start when it was trying to be driven off the trailer, once fired up and off of the trailer I got in the passenger seat and told the delivery guy to go ahead and drive it around the block to see if it just needed to be warmed up. It kept shutting off till we got back to the house so I told him to go ahead and just pull it directly into the garage. When we got out, I noticed that the trunk lock was missing. I got in my other car and drove around the block and found the trunk lock laying in the road, so I got out, picked it up and drove back to my house. The delivery guy was about packed up and then shortly after he drove off. There was NO paperwork with the car that was supposed to be delivered with it. I started checking to see why the car wouldn't run... Vacuum advance hose disconnected from the distributor. I reconnected it to the distributor and then disconnected the other end of the hose and reconnected it to its PROPER port on the Carb. I then noticed that the PCV hose from the valve cover was not connected to its proper location either so I reconnected it. I now tried and the car fired up and ran. The engine that was said to be rebuild isn't properly cammed for the engine. Inside the car (4 speed car) I noticed xxx there's no parking brake pedal and release assembly. I got out and looked under the car and there are NO parking brake cables except for the cables hanging out from the rear brake drums. I drove the vehicle around the block a couple of times to warm it up and then back to the garage. I now checked and found that the heater didn't work, under the hood I saw the heater hose was kinked and not allowing coolant to flow but upon feeling the other hoses with my hands i found that the thermostat was not opening either. I decided to check the car over a bit more. Grey non-GM seatbelts for the front seats and they were improperly mounted to the seat mount rails. I then noticed that the driver’s side seat was mounted on passenger side seat rails which places the seat adjuster between the seat and the shifter console. The shifter boot is torn in half. The heater controls are not functional and the blower doesn't work. There is body damage on both doors because of misalignment of both fenders and doors and so on...

Dealer response

Ever try explaining something to someone who only hears what they want to hear? That’s Paul—the buyer of this car. Did we say it was a frame-off restored car? Yes, we did, because it was. Did we ever claim it was a flawless, show-winning masterpiece? Absolutely not. In fact, we openly acknowledged its tacky aspects. But Paul wasn’t interested in hearing that. What Paul saw was our most affordable Chevelle and the words "frame-off restored," and he built up expectations for a deal-of-the-century, imagining a pristine car at a bargain price. That’s simply not what this car was. In the video description, Jay clearly pointed out several flaws, including the fender sticking out past the door, paint imperfections, and its overall condition not being on par with "the $100k Chevelles we have." The written description on our website also made this crystal clear: "This is the most affordable body-off-frame restored Chevelle I've had in a long time. It's not perfect, but it's still better than most. It offers big block, 4-speed fun!" Paul ignored all of this. He didn’t do his due diligence—he didn’t come to inspect the car, didn’t ask someone to check it out on his behalf, and didn’t even follow up with our sales team for clarification. Instead, he purchased the car based on his own inflated expectations, not on what was actually presented. Paul didn’t get the deal of the century on a perfect, frame-off restored car. But he did get a great value for the price he paid. Every statement in our ads was accurate, including it being frame-off restored.
