Well we have figured out that RJ from Waukesha stands for Ryan who bought a car from us on 11/12/2022. This review from him was written on 5/24/2023. He bought the car from us over seven months ago and is just writing this review now. Ryan, this review is very unfair to our business and leaves out many important facts that I will provide in my response. Ryan bought this car from us knowing it was a Rebuilt Salvage vehicle. He was not only told verbally what was repaired on this vehicle but was also given a CarFax when he looked at the vehicle for his review. We have copy of the CarFax that Ryan was given which has his signature on it. This CarFax shows the entire history of this vehicle. Ryan was also given the opportunity to take this vehicle to any service facility he desired to have it inspected and he declined to do this. Here are the important facts that Ryan has left out of his review. Back in early November 2022 Ryan called me about a week after he purchased the car and told me the check engine light came on. He took the car somewhere to have it scanned and told me it had a code for Catalytic Converter inefficiency. I told him to bring it back and we would look at the vehicle as a courtesy and see what was going on. However, Ryan cancelled his appointment before he was to bring it into us because the check engine light went off and was staying off. A few weeks went by and he called again, telling me the light came back on so we made arrangements for him to drop off the car which he did. I took the car to our local dealership on 12/28/2022 to have the dealership look at it. The mileage on the dealer invoice was 55448 miles and when Ryan bought the vehicle on 11/12/2022 had 53480 miles. This means Ryan put on 1968 miles on this vehicle in 46 days. The dealership called me and told me that manufacturer was requiring the dealership to complete a reprogramming of the computer for this problem and that is what the manufacturer wanted to be done for this particular check engine code for catalytic converter inefficiency. This repair was done by the dealer at no charge to Ryan and we have not heard from him since, Yet 7 months later he is writing this very negative review. We responded to his problem and took care of it for him. Legally we did not have to since the car was sold "As Is". He even mentioned in his review that now that transmission is starting to slip. Why is that our fault. It is 7 months later, we had no idea or could predict that the transmission would start slipping seven months later. This is an extremely unfair review to our business. Not only did we take action when he called with a problem but we took it into the dealer and had them diagnose and remedy the problem. Anyone who has a business knows that reviews can be very unfair. This is an example of this. The review system allows anyone to write and say anything they want. There are no checks and balances on reviews, being truthful is not a requirement. There is no way to protest a review. I have a signed CarFax and an invoice from the dealership which back up what I have stated in my response and which Ryan has failed to disclose to you. Please understand we tried to help Ryan when he informed us of the problem he was having. We NEVER told him we would not help him. We took the car to the dealership who is the expert on this make and model. The dealership followed the repair mandated by the manufacturer and the manufacturer is the expert who built this car. Please take away from this that we tried to help Ryan when he contacted us. We took action and got the right experts involved even when we had no obligation to do so. By the way, we have had no other contact from Ryan regarding any continued or other problems since the dealership repaired the vehicle back on 12/28/2022. We had no idea of anymore problems until we receive this review on 5/24/2023.
