Very thorough and courteous .

Very thorough and courteous . Elena the service agent is excellent, and James one of the techs went beyond the call of duty to show me how some of the comm tech worked helped me set it up.

I have been a loyal BMW customer since 2018 and have

I have been a loyal BMW customer since 2018 and have serviced my vehicle only at authorized BMW dealerships and have never encountered such unscrupulous business practice at any BMW dealership before. My BMW 540i PCV malfunctioned over the weekend (specifically the rubber diaphragm had a tear w/ consequent whistling sound and gray-white smoke from exhaust). I looked up this issue online and found that BMW has issued a very specific service bulletin for this exact problem in 2023 w/ warranty extension. I relayed the above information to the service advisor – Joel Gonclaves on 5/21/2025 at BMW Rockland and he instead argued w/ me that the rubber diaphragm is NOT a part of the PCV system and will NOT be covered by the warranty. His estimate for the repair was over $ 4500. This is beyond ridiculous, unethical – and this despite me showing him the actual service bulletin which outlines my exact problem. After arguing back and forth I was then told by him that “they were able to make a case” for me and the repair would be covered at no cost under the warranty. He also stated that I “would be surprised by the number of things that get rejected by BMW for specific nomenclature” – and if the latter statement is indeed true then I question the ethical standards of BMW as whole itself.

Dan, Thanks for your reply. However - I will have to disagree in that it as just a matter of the service advisor needing coaching. That seems to be downplaying the issue. My vehicle is clearly covered by the warranty extension - and I had the service bulletin that I forwarded to him - which outlined the exact issue and models covered. The fact that the advisor still proceeded to argue saying that the rubber diaphragm isn’t even a part of the PCV valve - is beyond just lack of knowledge. He made NO acknowledgement of his mistake whatsoever. If I hadn’t done my research - I would have ended up paying over 4500 - for something that should have been covered for free.

Very confusing visit.

Very confusing visit. Was given paperwork for the wrong car and downhill from there. Told car was ready 3 times and it wasn?t. Poorly managed customer coordination. Took much longer to service than I was promised (I was waiting)
