Misleading mileage and warranty in car offer

Found 2019 Subaru Outback at Fox Subaru Marquette and proceeded with due diligence that moved towards buying the vehicle. When talking with Josh Paolinietti and the dealership's financing representative, two important undisclosed facts where found out: 1) car actually had 40,905 miles on it as of January 3 and not the 35, 663 miles included in "out the door comprehensive pricing quote" emailed to me as I requested from Joshua Paolinetti, a product specialist at Fox Marquette Subaru. 2) was told that since car now has over 36,000 that basic warranty would not apply anymore. I was quite surprised and upset, since I asked them to confirm the 35,663 odometer reading and warranty coverage. So, it makes me wonder, if I would have shown up to buy the car and found out then. I was planning to fly up from Minneapolis, MN to Marquette, MI to buy the car and drive it back January 6-7. I expressed that I could not be expected to pay the same price for a car with over 5,000 miles more than quoted in purchase agreement. Also loss of basic warranty at time of purchase was not disclosed on purchase agreement. When I pressed for lower cost ,they offered a $500 reduction in price. I believe they deliberately did not provide accurate mileage and warranty information which likely would have only been found out after I fly there to buy the car and been pressured just to accept their pricing or end up having to pay to fly home or rent a car to drive home. When I checked with my financing source and online car valuation sources, the cost reduction just for 5,300 mileage increase would be $750-$1,100. Loss of basic warranty also would put cost of any covered expense on my during the last 337 miles of this warranty before hitting 36,000 miles (36,000 - 35,663 = 337). Recognizing the higher mileage and loss of basic warranty, I decided to offer them $32,000 for the car, a $950 reduction from their advertised $32,950 price plus other dealer fees needed to complete purchase. They rejected this price and to no responsibility for inaccurate and non-disclosure of actual mileage and loss of basic warranty.

The FOX TEAM didn't have to be so CARING!

Where to start...! We had come up to Munising for a family reunion, on the last 30 miles to destination my F250 started to run really bad as we were pulling our 30ft camper with our four kids. Misfiring, shuddering, no power...etc. Got to camp, unhooked the trailer and started diagnosing the truck. Being over 600 miles from home I had to find a place to look at it. The few local Service shops helped as much as they could but was out of their hands for repair. Looked up dealership and found FOX in Marquette so off we went. We arrive and the service department was extremely busy and under staffed, and being a Saturday let alone covid and part shortage complications. It was stressful for us with our four kids and no rental cars anywhere to boot even if we had to leave the truck! FOX personnel pulled though, they helped out by pulling a Mechanic and he diagnosed the truck and provided me with all the details of the failure, recommendations, and top notch experience to get me on the road with confidence. THANKS STEVE AND JOSEF AND REST OF FOX FAMILY STAFF! We made it home safely (not pulling the trailer) and truck is running great after replacing the PCM! Spot on with the diagnosis. The FOX staff also called and checked in on us to make sure we had made safely. They do care!

I have yet to have a good experience

I purchased a car brand new from Fox and the purchasing experience was fantastic, that is where the good experience ended. Within the first 200 miles my brand new car had two solenoid issues back to back. Both times they didn't offer me a loaner car despite taking 3 days to get my brand new car fixed, the second time I asked for a loaner car and the service adviser just shrugged and told me he didn't have any loaners available. Luckily I had family who knew someone in management who they complained to and he managed to find me something to drive even though it was a fresh trade-in that hadn't even been cleaned yet. Next came multiple regular service appointments as I had purchased a service contract along with the car. Every single time I had regular service I set an appointment ahead of time for early to mid morning and dropped my car off first thing when they opened. Every single time I went back mid to late afternoon and they told me they hadn't had a chance to work on it and were just starting, this of course meant I spent 45 minutes in the waiting room despite the fact that my car was supposed to be worked on hours before I even arrived. All of this could be written off as them just being far too busy with bad time management but my last experience was the one that sealed the deal. At around 20,000 miles my car ended up needing the rear brake pads and rotors replaced. This is a known issue with Subarus manufactured around the time of mine as the brakes would regularly get stuck and wear down the rotors prematurely. They tried to charge me full price to replace the pads and rotors. I had to talk with the service adviser multiple times on the phone before they eventually "found" a Subaru service program for this known issue where the entire repair could be performed for a $100 deductible. How does a licensed Service center not know about this common issue and the replacement program offered by Subaru? With Fox being the only licensed Subaru service center in the area I honestly will never buy another Subaru. I don't feel any faith in the brand when I can't get it reliably serviced.
