Auto Paddock is a breath of fresh air in the car-shopping

Auto Paddock is a breath of fresh air in the car-shopping space. It's casual, relaxed and personal -- very much like dealing with a private-party -- but it has the inventory, information and facilities of a dealership, all without any pressure or sales xx. Some big plusses of Auto Paddock: * very cool, knowledgeable, straightforward owners * nice inventory with many rarer-spec, enthusiast cars * reasonable prices better than the competition for similar models * low-stress vibe Since they're local to me, I visited them 3 times as I was considering a 911 they had for sale. Initially, the car wasn't ready because they had just gotten it in. The tires were too worn to do a proper test-drive but Sheldon (one of the owners) was completely accommodating and let me check it out on the lot. He also went over the things they found during intake of the car and outlined the maintenance they planned to perform to bring it up to spec. When it was ready, Sheldon let me test-drive the car on two different occasions because he wanted to have the PDK recalibrated (shifting was a little wonky on the first drive). He never displayed any pushiness or expectations, even letting me test-drive alone which allowed me to get a good feel for the car. It was almost like being with a fellow enthusiast at Cars and Coffee that was planning to sell their car and we were just hanging out trying to determine if this was the right fit. I really loved the car and was very close to buying it. But during the time it was receiving PDK recalibration, another 911 came along of a similar spec but rarer color combo with lower mileage. So I ultimately bought that one instead. But because of the excellent experience I had with Sheldon, I was torn and it was difficult to pass on their 911. I would highly recommend Auto Paddock. Sheldon and Tony (F & I person) were excellent to deal with. And although I didn't end up buying their 911, I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them in the future, perhaps on a trade or maybe if they get in an F80 M3 that I like. Go check them out because they're awesome and have really differentiated themselves in the car-buying space.

I spoke to this dealership after the new year.

I spoke to this dealership after the new year. I had originally reached out to them on New Year’s Eve, and they were closed until January 2. Someone did return my call. I got the information I needed on the specific vehicle but I ended up purchasing elsewhere. Not because of anything they did or did did not do but I was seriously looking for a specific model, and there were three with a 40 mile radius of my home.

Great driving roads

The test driving process was super easy here. They let me go on my own so I can get the full experience of driving the car like it was my own. The route they recommended to go up the mountain was fun as well. Their inventory is a big mix of cars and depending on which one you would want to purchase, the driving experience up the mountain is great.

Good time there

My personal experience dealing with them has been great. They've been open and transparent about everything. Was a cool little shop with snacks and drinks

The Auto Paddock is dishonest and inexperienced

The Auto Paddock is a dishonest business. Sheldon is a very friendly liar and also has dishonest/inexperienced techs. I spoke to him over the phone about a car before inspecting and he assured me there were no issues or leaks. He told me the valve cover gaskets were not leaking before I could even ask. He claimed his techs did the timing belt/water pump service with Aisin kit less than 100 miles ago. Upon arrival I was told Sheldon had to leave for an emergency 1 minute before I got there. I Didn't think anything of it at the time. The car had a dead battery which is no big deal, but the tech was unable to jump start it and had to ask for help. Looking under the car I found significant oil leaks that were impossible to miss. The oil pan was covered in oil and the valve cover gaskets leaked so bad they were dripping onto the exhaust heat shielding. The oil, power steering fluid, and automatic transmission fluid were black. Sheldon did say they did not perform any maintenance other than the timing belt service but that makes no sense. Why would you opt to perform a $500 5hr major service but not a basic oil change? The Aisin timing belt kit comes with a sticker to post on the engine stating mileage when the service was performed. There was no sticker present. Sheldon flat out lied to me. Nobody so much as even looked under the car to inspect or perform the maintenance they claimed. They were making up lies assuring great condition and no leaks. Looking around their shop they had some nice cars/parts but no special tools/equipment/lift. My garage seemed better equipped. They didn't even have a proper jack pad to protect the pinch welds when lifting a car. I passed on the car without needing a test drive and 1 minute after leaving Sheldon was instantly back and called me. Seemed like a shady sales tactic. I called Sheldon on his lies and called him a liar. All he said was "I'm sorry, I guess we didn't look as closely as I thought." He was friendly the whole time and not phased or surprised by my findings at all. His confidence lying and zero concern shown is proof to me this is just business as usual. The Auto Paddock is a dishonest business. Their techs are inexperienced. This business preys on lying about vehicles and flipping them to less knowledgeable buyers. As a car enthusiast I despise these kinds of people. Avoid The Auto Paddock!

Great team!

Tony and Sheldon were very easy to deal with...they are very straight forward and made the process comfortable. We lucked out and got a low mileage honda accord for a great price. I definitely will go to them again in the future.

Quick buying

Pleasant experience browsing here because of the location. Great selection of different brands. Buying process was quicker than other places and didn’t have to spend my whole afternoon here
