Run like xxxx! I found a suspiciously cheap 2008 Cadillac xxx at Megatronics Auto Sales located in Dallas, TX and decided to call and inquire about it. I spoke with the sales manager, Mike, who assured me that the vehicle was in good running condition and that it had no mechanical issues. However, Mike made it clear that the vehicle could not be inspected at a mechanic shop, which raised a red flag. Despite my reservations, I put down a $200 deposit to hold the car in good faith. I had my mobile mechanic come out to inspect the car and he immediately noticed major mechanical issues. The car had a major oil leak from the valve cover gaskets with standing oil seeping out on the engine, a faulty alternator that was only holding 12 volts and making a whining noise, TPMS lights on the dashboard, and worst of all, a bullet hole in the driver's side door. I decided to stop the inspection at this point as the car was in terrible mechanical shape, and it made no sense for my mechanic to proceed. I called Mike back and asked him for a refund on the $200 deposit because he was not forthcoming about the mechanical problems and did not have integrity by blindly misrepresenting the vehicle. Instead of taking the opportunity to do the right thing and own up to the shortcomings on the vehicle, Mike started screaming at me through the phone that the deposit was "non-refundable" and that there were no mechanical issues with the car. This was an incredibly frustrating experience as it was clear that the car dealer was selling lemons and the owner/manager, Mike, lacked basic ethics, morals, and integrity. I strongly advise anyone looking to buy a used car to avoid Megatronics Auto Sales like the plague or be prepared to lose big money repairing lemon vehicles. My experience with Mike and his team at this dealership was incredibly frustrating, and I would not recommend anyone to trust their word or do business with them. It is important to always do your research and get an independent inspection before making any purchase, especially when dealing with used car dealerships.
