**Unprofessional, Non-Transparent, and Unwilling to
**Unprofessional, Non-Transparent, and Unwilling to Negotiate** My experience with South Colorado Motors was frustrating and unprofessional. I was interested in purchasing a 2014 Chevrolet Spark EV and reached out to inquire about details. Here’s how the interaction unfolded: 1. Lack of Transparency: When I asked if the dealership had inspected the car or had any service records, I was told to “pay someone to look at it myself.” They admitted the car was purchased at auction and had not been tested, which is concerning for any buyer—especially for an electric vehicle with unique maintenance needs. 2. Misleading Pricing: The price listed on TrueCar was lower than what the dealership quoted me. Despite the car sitting on their lot for over two months, the manager, Johnny Lanigan, refused to negotiate in good faith. Instead, he responded to my reasonable offer with condescending remarks like “throwing me a bone for coming from Nebraska.” 3. Unprofessional Communication: The manager’s emails were written in all caps and came across as aggressive and dismissive. Instead of addressing my concerns, he seemed more interested in proving why the car was worth his inflated price. 4. EV-Specific Questions Ignored: When I asked about the vehicle’s current battery range, charger type, and service history, I received vague or no answers. For an EV, this information is essential for making an informed decision. This dealership’s unwillingness to provide basic information, combined with their dismissive attitude, raised too many red flags for me to proceed. If you’re considering buying from South Colorado Motors, be prepared to do all the legwork yourself and deal with unprofessional communication. Save yourself the trouble—look elsewhere.
