I'm extremely disappointed with my recent purchase of a "Certified Pre-Owned" XC90, and I strongly feel that I've been sold a lemon. Within just a couple of weeks of driving, I started experiencing serious issues with the infotainment system. It freezes every 10 minutes and, at times, fails to operate altogether. Even more concerning, the backup cameras malfunction unpredictably, which poses a significant safety risk while driving. This is completely unacceptable for a vehicle of this caliber. When I took the car to my local Volvo dealership for inspection (not SW Houston), I was informed that something "sticky" had spilled into the wiring, causing the system to malfunction. This critical issue was never disclosed to me at the time of purchase. Had I known, I would have never agreed to buy the vehicle. It's also worth noting that I only drink water, so the idea that I caused this spill is impossible. The problem clearly existed before the sale, and it is highly concerning that the dealership either overlooked or chose not to disclose it. After purchasing, I learned from the Volvo dealership in Houston that this vehicle was previously a "Show Car," owned by Volvo. It seems likely that during one of the shows or transport, something was spilled in the console or on the screen. Regardless, the dealership should have thoroughly inspected the car before selling it as "Certified Pre-Owned." As a consumer, there's no way I could have known the electrical components in the center console were damaged. Either the dealership was aware of the issue and failed to disclose it, or they never inspected it properly before certifying the vehicle. This is unacceptable for a high-end vehicle, and now, within a month of owning one of your top-tier models, I can't even use the infotainment system. This situation not only reflects poorly on the integrity of the dealership but also raises serious concerns about the thoroughness of the "Certified Pre-Owned" inspection process. Additionally, I was forced to buy a $3,000 "pro-pack" that was initially presented as "optional", but when I arrived in Houston, I was told I couldn't leave without purchasing it. Given that I had flown in from Chicago to get the car, I had no choice but to comply. This feels like a dishonest sales tactic, adding to my frustration. Swickard SW Houston's business practices are highly questionable, and this experience has left me with no confidence in the dealership's integrity. If this issue is not resolved, this will be my last Volvo purchase.
