I found a truck I liked agreed on the price told them I’d

I found a truck I liked agreed on the price told them I’d pay with my card and they told me they didn’t take cards but that I could finance it so we fill out the paper work when they came back I was approved but the raised the price 2k. Never heard of a business that doesn’t take cards.so I walked away. I really wanted that truck but I felt like something was not right.

Capital Auto Mall Premier in tampa Florida.

Capital Auto Mall Premier in tampa Florida..bad practices The place is bottom of the barrel in regard to honesty and transparency and they are horrible at it. I didnt even make it past the first layer of research into the car before things became very strange. On Friday night I saw an add online through cars.com and decided to call the dealership today,Saturday the 6th of September and spoke with someone whose name is Anna, very pleasant and courteous. I asked her why the car was so cheap and she replied "Its been on the lot a while and the owner wants to get rid of it" , (this statement will be important later so remember it).The list price on cars.com was about 1900 dollars and of course they want the 150 fee for this and 550 dollar fee for that and another 990 dollar for their profit margin on the sale which I I understand how that game is played and I still thought it was a good deal. After speaking with her she said they could let the car go for an even 3500 cash which seemed fine. So I hung up and did some research on the car. I used car fax so I would get accurate information. The odometer reading on the car as listed on their website was 156,222 but on August 8 2025 the odometer was listed on carfax as 119,347. That was the first red flag, how could someone's put more than 35000 miles on it in a month??? And on August 8th it was listed as being in Arkansas not here in Florida So I called the carcar dealership in Arkansas and they had no record of the car. Even stranger, there was no listing of the car being received by that car dealership here in Florida listed on carfax. It was however listed on Carfax as being in Wesley chapel on June 18 th 2025 but suddenly two months later Its in Arkansas and no report of it back in Florida with 30,000 more miles on it?? To make things worse, after I looked online the price of the car, on the dealer's website had been listed raised and listed at 3400.All this was very strange so I called Anna back and mentioned all this. She had no reply to the odometer difference or the fact that the car was not listed anywhere on Carfax as being received by them. When I asked her about the price difference between the earlier listing which she and I discussed on the first phone call and the more recent listing, she said the boss had just raised the price. So then I asked her if what she said on our first phone call was still relevant about letting the car go at the original price all in at 3500 was still on the table and she said that she couldn't answer that. When I asked if the boss could give me a call to talk to me about a firm price before I drove an hour and half to purchase the car she said even the boss wouldn't be able to give me an answer in regard to the total price ,all in being 3500 when we spoke over the phone earlier, which meant they were trying get an additional 1500 dollars. Talk about low life scammers😂 .. places like this should be Shut down. These people are the definition of xxxx. DO NOT engage with Capital Auto Mall Premier in Tampa, they are dishonest and should be investigated.

I saw a vehicle I was interested in on a car sales

I saw a vehicle I was interested in on a car sales website. The price seemed a little too good to be true, so I thought it might be a mistake. I pulled up the dealer site to double-check. It was priced the same on the dealer site. A phone call verified that the correct price was indeed listed. But--- BAIT AND SWITCH!! SCAM - SCAM - SCAM - SCAM - SCAM - SCAM - SCAM - SCAM!!! They purposefully post low prices, but when you arrive, the price difference is massive. It isn't just the $1,000 dealer fee and $600 electronic registration fee - it is thousands of dollars more than that. An $8000 car in ads and on the phone ends up being twice that with all of their "fees". Then, they want to play games, requesting deposits to test drive a car. And they're rude about it. This is an extremely unethical dealership. I know car dealers aren't the best or most honest group anyway, but these people are the bottom of the barrel, the worst of the worst. Do not even try to deal with them; it's a total waste of time. They lie, cheat, and try to steal your money!!! Don't waste your time or energy!! I was so irritated that I don't remember the salesman's name. However, Mike the owner, is the driving force behind this sham. He has zero morals or ethics, IMHO. AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

Bad.

Bad. Bad. Bad. The person I was looking for was not there. There was a guy without a clue about the business, he was lost. More interested on giving me quotes than showing me the cars and a bad actitud. I still looking your dealer fee of almost $1000 is too much, unacceptable I’ll never pay that. Bad experience

Complete scam and bait and switch.

Complete scam and bait and switch. These people did not provide any paperwork and made us give a $2000 downpayment on the vehicle. They told us it would be the advertised price ($8000) and ended up asking for a price of $18k after the paperwork ($28k with interest!!!). When we decided not to purchase, they wouldn’t return the downpayment. They knowingly scammed us out of $2000!
