Buyer Beware: Morris Smith Ford of Leavenworth is a Den
Buyer Beware: Morris Smith Ford of Leavenworth is a Den of Deception We’ve purchased two vehicles from Morris Smith Ford in Leavenworth— one back in 2019, which was a decent experience, and another in May 2025. The cars themselves? Fine, no complaints there. But the dealership? A slimy operation run by liars and cowards who excel at broken promises and evasion tactics. They dangled two free oil changes as a sweetener during the sale, but when it came time to honor it? Crickets. Weeks of ignored calls to the GM, who apparently vanishes like a ghost when accountability knocks. Their pathetic excuse? Blaming it on some former employee who "ran the promo without approval" and got fired. Classic bait-and-switch sleight of hand—promise the world to close the deal, then shuffle blame to a scapegoat who conveniently doesn't work there anymore. This isn’t incompetence; it’s calculated dishonesty designed to fleece customers post-sale. If you value your time, money, and sanity, steer clear of these fraudsters. Shop elsewhere—anywhere else—or risk getting taken for a ride that ends in frustration and regret. Zero stars if I could.

They were nice and polite, however, we drove over 3 hours
They were nice and polite, however, we drove over 3 hours away to see a vehicle advertised, after calling to make sure they had it, and verify it had ZERO issues, mechanical or otherwise, before we made the trip. We were assured they go through a 175 point inspection and they wouldn't put a vehicle on the lot with problems etc etc. Within 5 minutes of our test drive, it was VERY obvious the vehicle had transmission issues. Extremely disappointing that they wasted our time and theirs, and that they were dishonest. Either they knew, and were trying to pass it off, or they didn't know, and should fire their tech who signed off that it was perfectly fine. Either way, completely unacceptable. We won't return.

Sold me a car that was used with no accident s, found out
Sold me a car that was used with no accident s, found out 2 weeks later it had been in a serious accident. Isaac the Sales Manager told me to “contact his attorney” because the Morris Smith Ford dealership was not going to do anything about it. My $29,000 car in 2 weeks is now worth $18,000 and Isaac said it was “My fault” because I didn’t check it out better. Also told me that in the State of Kansas it is Illegal to lower the fees they charge per State laws or they will be arrested for discrimination!

This dealership and their service department is a joke.
This dealership and their service department is a joke. We brought our Explorer in that we had originally purchased here for multiple recalls and some other basic services in mid July. One of the recalls was the exterior A-pillar trim. Without having replacement parts on hand, they pulled the A-pillar trim knowing that 90% of the time (they admitted this) that the trim will break. They also "lost" my car several times over following few weeks as I tried to get updates on the various service items needing to be completed. By mid August I was finally able to get my car back. No loaner car, no apologies. And to top it off the A-pillar trim still wasn't available, so I had to drive off with a car that looks like ghetto trash. I was told "late October" for replacements to come in and they would call. It's now the end of October and I had to call them for an update. I'm now being told end of 2024 or early 2025 for the parts to come in and I'll have to drive around looking like trash until then. This dealership was already bad under Zeck, and now it's a complete mess. Don't buy from this dealer, and if for some reason you do I recommend avoiding their service group entirely.

sbrown, we are sorry to hear that you had a poor experience with our dealership. We completely understand your frustration as it relates to the recall for the A-Pillar on your vehicle, but please keep in mind that we are not the engineers who design the vehicle nor the plant who builds them. We are simply the dealer who do our best to take care of customers such as yourself. As you stated in your post, you were told by the dealership that 90% of the time the trim piece will break when removing it for this recall, however you made the decision to move forward with the recall anyway. While it is obviously unfortunate that Ford Motor Company has a national back order on parts (please remember, we don`t build them) we are happy to hear that you were told up front about the potential issues you might have with moving forward with the recall on your Explorer. With that said, we can understand your frustration with Ford Motor Company for not being able to manufacturer the trim pieces as quickly as you would like. We are unsure what you are referring to when you mention that your vehicle was "lost". While we do have a large lot of almost 15 acres and hundreds of vehicles on the ground, vehicles don`t get "lost", especially not several times. We would think if a vehicle was "lost" as you described, both the customer and the dealership would want to call the police to report the vehicle as stolen. However, from your post, that does not appear to be the case. As mentioned, we are sorry to hear that you had issues with the vehicle that you purchased from a different dealership, Zeck, however as we arent the manufacturer, we cant control what recalls come out and when parts become available. However, Morris Smith Ford of Leavenworth will always do what we can to help the customer and make the experience as enjoyable as possible under the circumstances.
Service manager Brian calling me now being pissy about the review. Wants me to take it down. Won’t happen until situation resolved, and that’s a maybe.
Clearly whoever responds to these reviews has the reading comprehension of a potato. 1) We were not informed in advance that most of the time the trim pieces break during recall service. We found out after they had already broken them, then later found out they were on back order. 2) They absolutely on multiple occasions lost track of my vehicle while they were in possession of it. I wasn’t concerned it was stolen, I just accepted the fact that they were incompetent and called back later. 3) This is the same dealer I bought the vehicle from. Different ownership, same dealer. Final note: It’s now April and I have not been notified that the parts are available. They were supposed to be back in October, and then in January. Most likely the dealership lost the record that they owe me the parts.
I can't speak highly enough of Zeck Ford and the staff
I can't speak highly enough of Zeck Ford and the staff that work there. I have now purchased two vehicles from Sage in the last three months. He is the type of salesman that I enjoy working with and he has created a return customer. He is honest and will point out issues with vehicles that need fixed and goes above and beyond to make sure the vehicle is in great condition prior to pickup. Sage I will be keeping an eye on the lot for a Lincoln Continental when you get a Black Label in. lol
