If you are considering buying from Prestige Imports,

If you are considering buying from Prestige Imports, especially as an out-of-state buyer, read this carefully. I was sold a vehicle with the written and signed promise that my registration and plate would be processed and delivered within 30 days. That was part of the dealer fees I paid for. They did not honor that. My paperwork and license plate were delivered on Day 46 — almost seven weeks later. During this time, my temporary tag expired, and I was unable to legally drive the vehicle I had just purchased. That is not a “minor inconvenience.” That is real financial damage and an unnecessary disruption to my life. I notified my salesperson (Emilio) before the expiration and was literally told to “just wait.” No urgency. No responsibility. No action. The replacement temporary tag only arrived almost a week after the first one expired — meaning I went days unable to drive a car I’m making payments on. When I requested reimbursement for the dealer fees associated with processing paperwork that was not completed on time, I was dismissed and spoken to in a condescending, unprofessional tone. Their response was essentially: “We did nothing wrong. Move on.” Let me be clear: They signed a written agreement stating registration would be handled within 30 days. They failed to meet that agreement I was left without legal plates for days They accepted zero responsibility They refused reimbursement and acted like I was the problem This dealership looks polished from the outside. But if something goes wrong — even when the issue is caused by them — they will not take accountability. They will leave you dealing with the consequences alone, then speak to you as if you should be grateful they sold you the car at all. If you choose to buy here, understand: Once they have your money, you are no longer their priority. I wish someone had posted a review like this before I purchased. I’m posting it so the next person knows what they’re stepping into.

Dealer response

For clarification, the dealership never promised to deliver your plates within 30 days, as that would be impossible to guarantee for an out-of-state transaction. This was explained to you several times, and we always set the expectation that the metal tags would take somewhere between 6 and 8 weeks, which was the estimate that we were given by our out-of-state tag work provider. The fact that you continue to take a small portion of our paperwork, which related specifically to the time frame it would take for a Florida tag to be transferred, and try to apply that to your situation, even though we have explained to you several times that it does not apply to you because 1) you are not located in Florida, and 2) you were not transferring a tag, does not merit your response to this entire situation. The dealership provided you with a temporary license plate, which, although it had expired prior to the metal plate being completed, you failed to notify the dealership in a timely manner so we could replace it before its expiration. As soon as we were notified, we replaced your temporary license plate with a second one. Yes, there are unfortunately inherent delays due to shipping and operating hours when this happened over the weekend, leading to a four-day gap between your first tag expiring. You received your second temporary tag, but had you notified us before it expired, you could have received a replacement tag in time and avoided a gap between them. At that time, when we started communicating regarding the expired temporary tag, you demanded that we refund you the processing fees and threatened to post negative reviews if we didn’t. We are not surprised that you posted this review; we were actually expecting it, but we refuse to be extorted into returning your licensing fees simply because you threatened to post a bad review. The transaction was completed in the normal timeframe for an out-of-state transaction. We are sorry if the timeframe for completing the tag work was not to your satisfaction, but unfortunately, this is how long it takes your state to process title work. Other Dealers Beware- Extremely Problematic Customer.
