Very unhappy that after only owning my 2021 Mazada CX5

Very unhappy that after only owning my 2021 Mazada CX5 for under 3 months, I have to pay $262 for a repair that should have been caught before the vehicle was sold to me. And I did not appreciate the tone of the customer service person making it look like I was responsible for the tire fender getting lose nearly falling off, because of the way I drove the vehicle. There was no visible damage to the wheel base of my vehicle, why the xxxx did the screw/bold fall off that wheel base fender? They just fell off . . . manufacturer defect!!!!

They took my vehicle in on time, performed the service as requested. They didn't try to upsell me and completed the work promptly. The video provided by the technician really showed that they performed a full safety/mechanical inspection of my car. Exactly what a service center should be. Even when I'm out of warranty, I will use Classic Mazda for service.

Great job by Brian and Branden in making the sales process as smooth as possible. Both provided a very thorough explanation during the sales and financing process.

I will start by saying I had a Fantastic sales

I will start by saying I had a Fantastic sales experience. My salesman was Evan, he was awesome and took pictures and videos of the truck that I ultimately purchased. I was driving from 4.5 hrs. away, so I asked for several pics and videos. I also spoke with Taylor Royal during the sale and trade portion of the sale. They were both Fantastic and answered all my questions promptly. While shooting a video for me, Evan noticed a chip in the glass and showed it to me, it was very tiny. I did not ask them to fix it, but to my surprise when I arrived to pick up the truck, they had already scheduled a repair tie at Safelight glass in my local city, this was above expectations. The truck was in excellent condition and obviously been taken care of. While test driving, I noticed the steering wheel vibrating and pointed it out. Evan sent an email to management, and they agreed to reimburse me to have the tires balanced. I sent them a receipt and they are mailing me a check. When I opened the hood, everything looked good except for the battery that was leaking acid and had started corroding a terminal. I pointed it out immediately, Evan took pictures of the acid stains and corrosion and said he was sure they would get it taken care of, but no manager was in to approve replacement. He sent my concern and pictures to the vehicle operations manager, who denied replacement stating, “it tested very good so we will not replace it.” I voiced my concern of it doing more damage because it is obviously leaking but it was still denied. I was very surprised by this because they had been amazing up to this point and they claim to recondition and do a thorough inspection of all used vehicles. I have years of experience working in the service department for Chevrolet and Ford and can confidently say a battery leaking acid would not pass inspection by any ASE certified mechanic that I know. I can understand it being overlooked by someone in a hurry but should have been promptly changed upon showing it to management. I have several text and photos back and forth about replacing the battery but ultimately was denied. I will say no one was ever disrespectful and treated me very courteous, but after going through several communications back and forth the General sales manager, Jim Vella, text me and said since it tested good, they will not replace it. This was disappointing but not a deal breaker. I love the truck. Overall, I would buy from them again, but I would not assume that being told something will be taken care of means that it will. Doing it over I would not have driven 4.5 hours back home and waited on approval. I would have them replace it before delivery.

Glenn L is as my advisor. Glenn was great, but service was lacking. Was told battery was bad. I took it to advance auto and tested. It was fine. Do I trust the rest of the recommendations?

Dealer response

Mr. Bartelson, We understand how you feel, and we could have explained it better. The battery tester we use here at the dealership in the shop is a large roll-around unit that places a high-stress load on the battery and takes a little time to be through. This tester showed failure under stress. The small hand-held testers at AutoZone measures voltage and cold cranking amps with no stress. Your test showed 485 CCA, your battery is rated at 585, and 12.4 volts which will still start your car. It's likely a cell is going bad in your battery. We stand-by our advice to replace your battery based on the stress test to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Again, Thank you for your business.

I INITIALLY WAITED FOR THE CAR TO BE SERVICED.

I INITIALLY WAITED FOR THE CAR TO BE SERVICED. WHEN THE ISSUE CAME ABOUT THAT A PART NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE CAR HAD TO BE DISMANTLED THEY GAVE ME A COURTESY VEHICLE UNTIL MY CAR AND I COULD BE REUNITED.
