Great selection of clean, well kept and gently per-owned automobiles .I have purchased 4 times from Northgate Cars (Tim) within the last year. Tim always makes you like family. Northgate will do a lot of things that the" Big Badge Dealers" wont. Do yourself a favor, give Northgate Cars a chance at your business and enjoy a buying experience you'll tell your family about. I've probably purchased cars from 10 dealerships in my life. Hands down Northgate was BY FAR the best experience. The staff is courteous, punctual, and matter of fact. No hassle buying experience. No pressure at all. The paperwork seems to always to be the most time consuming part. They had everything prepped before hand. My wife and I were literally in and out in 15 min in our new ride. They even stayed after hours the night before contacting my bank to get a local loan secured. Truly have a customer for life in us!!

I purchased a 2017 Chevy Silverado

Tim Marcum (owner) sold me the truck, good price, gave me what I thought my trade was worth, a good buying experience for us. We have purchased several cars/trucks from the dealership, we have not had one problem with any of our purchases. If you are looking for a high quality used automobile I recommend Northgate Car Inc.

Nasty attitudes

I went in to look and possibly by a 2010 ford, Noone never ever came out to see if I needed help. I went into the office the salesman was on a personal phone call and acted like I was a bother to him. He hung up and I started to ask a couple questions and he got frustrated that I was asking questions, and then I was told if I wasn't really going to purchase to leave. Ib will never go back to any of their lots.

I looked at an 2007 Chevy Cobalt LT last Saturday briefly and asked for a good price if paid cash and no trade. I was told $9450.00 and I promised I would return Monday if I was interested further. Monday I returned w/ wife and daughter for a test drive with every intention of paying cash for the car if I could negotiate an agreeable deal. The car is going to be for my 18 year old daughter to commute to college this fall so I had her drive it and she loved how it drove and all seemed as presented. We went in when we returned and talked to salesman(unknown). I made an offer to purchase car at $10000.00 out the door (tax, title, fees) which was about $225.00 below what everything totaled with his offered price. He instantly became irate and nasty towards my self and family for trying to negotiate a better deal. He had offered an extended warrenty w/ car and due to the fact that there was some remaining factory warrenty I questioned whether taking the cost of that off of total if he could do $10000. He nearly yelled at us for even asking then he proceded to do math and said the best he would do was $10028.00. He said he wished he hadn't priced it to me for $9450 because he could easily get a lot more. This man was the nastiest salesman I have EVER encountered. I drove two doors down to Wetzel Hyundai and bought an 09 with more equipment in like new condition, half the miles, 26 months or 57000 miles remaining factory warrenty for just about 2k more. I will NEVER step foot in this dealership again. By the way, by the time we reached our car to leave my daughter was crying, not about purchasing the car but about how badly we were treated.

all around great experiance

I had been shoping the net for a late model Chevy HHR and this dealer had just what I was looking for. His description of the car was dead on, it was everything that Tim said it was, and since I was driving about 85 miles one way I was glad that it was not a waisted trip. Tim was a very no pressure sales person and I would highly recomend his dealership to everyone looking for a clean used car Thanks Tim ! Rick & Debbie

I had a horrible experience and was sold a lemon over the...

I had a horrible experience and was sold a lemon over the internet by this very dishonest dealer. I purchased a 1996 Buick Roadmaster wagon from them on May 20, 2010. I live in California and the dealer is in Richmond Indiana. They assured me the car was in excellent condition. I paid top dollar for this model, based on their description. I had the car transported to California from their dealership. It immediately had a roaring sound from the transmission. I had driven it less than 100 miles and the transmission went out completely. I replaced the transmission at a cost of 2737.00. When it was there, the mechanic called and stated that I could not drive the car. It was unsafe and not even roadworthy. There was so much rust all over the undercarriage and frame that the metal brake lines had rusted through. There was brake fluid dripping out on to the ground. I had to replace all of the lines. I contacted Northgate Cars and spoke with Harold, the son of the owner. He was very sorry, and stated that the car should have been inspected by them before being sold. He said he would speak to his father, the owner, Robert Marcum. I called back in a few days and Harold said his Dad would not do anything to make this right. Nothing. He suggested that I write his father a letter explaining everything. I wrote a very polite, but, thorough letter stating everything that happened. That I now had $11,000 invewsted in what was basically a $2500 car. I received no response back. I called the son again and asked him to have his dad call me, he said the dad would not. I want everyone to be aware that these peopl are very dishonest and no one should EVER purchase a car from them on the internet. Even if you see the car in person, you must have it inspected by a third party. If you have questions, feel free to call me at 310-489-6696.

I had a great buying experience. I found the car on the internet and drove four hours to check it out, and it was exactly as described. The price was good, Tim made the buying process easy. When I got home, I found that an accessory was missing from the car, but Tim got it and shipped it to my house right away. Very pleased overall!

This was the ad as posted on eBay. Item number: 220225328406 "Exterior is in overall good condition, not flawless but good condition, interior is better than perfect and does apprear to be all original". There wer photos, but they appear to have been deceptively taken, i.e. at a distance of angle that did not reflect the defects. Interior was nissing a button, this is not better than perfect. Yes, the exterior has bumps, scratches and dings, this is not the problem. The problem is the wide door moulding on the car, it is rippled and pulled away, not overall good condition. This is hard to find "stuff: for a 1973 Tbird. Had Northgate been truthful, I would not have bid on the vehicle. Tim talked a good talk until I provided him with the estimates for repair. $305 per moulding, includes shipping and handling, but no installation and $85.00 for the upholstry shop to replace button. He got angry and accused me of threatening him and said "do what you have to do!!!!" Well, here I am.
