I bought a 2025 platinum hybrid.

I bought a 2025 platinum hybrid. I bought it for it's looks and reputation as a commuter and snow car. I do not plan to offroad. Snow only which motivated me to get one with full time 4wd. It's very loud inside, you hear road noise, tire noise (with all season tires) and lots of wind noise. With the roof bars off it's better. With the running boards and /or wind dam off it's worse. Doors are super light so I suspect there is not much insulation. The ride is very unsettled, it's a very bouncy jouncy car no matter what drive setting you use. Handling on winding roads is poor, very tippy. The full time 4wd is not like an awd, it slips fairly easily if you push too hard. Power is medium. Good enough for most situations but the engine is loud and the note is not great. The center console is very small, and although there are lots of "storage" compartments, the sizes and shapes and depths are weird and irregular, so they are mostly not functional. There are no coat hooks over the rear seat doors!!! The hybrid battery eats a lot of cargo space so the load height is very high. The milage is mediocre, I get 17.5 with mostly highway driving. The driver seat height is very awkward. I'm 5'9 with 31 inseam. It's a tall step in and out for me. The running boards provide no value, the height is no help for entry/exit, and they hit the back of your leg when getting in and out. I mentioned when you take them off the wind noise get's much worse. The tech is pretty good, the cameras with the platinum are excellent. You can't remove amazon or apple music from the source list which is annoying when cycling through them with the steering wheel button. The screen is too big and annoying. The analog climate controls are good however. Ac is pretty good but not five stars. Heated/cooled seats are good. For the price point I would not recommend this car. My Q8, X3, Yukon, Outback, and Rav 4 are all much more composed, quiet cars in their own ways. The 30 year indestructable reliability reputation may not apply to this generation with the spaceship like hybrid system and tech features. Fixing any of the tech out of warranty will be an arm and a leg.

Absolutely love the 2025 4Runner TRD OffRoad Premium

Absolutely love the 2025 4Runner TRD OffRoad Premium Hybrid. Bought it and 3 days later drove it from Dallas to Destin. It now has nearly 2k miles and the only things I don't love is the passenger grab bar on the front console, it just gets in the way and adds no value. The other thing is I don't care for the tumble forward 2nd row seats. The previous generations fold flat design is preferable for me. Otherwise I love it, great power with the Hybrid, decent mpg, very comfortable and the TSS 3.0 features are very advanced for a 4Runner. For the first time ever you can have a power lift gate and it even has kick to open.
