Lives up to the "Driving Machine" reputation

This car handles better than any other AWD car I've ever had. Coming from a background of performance cars like Corvette and 350Z, handling is a big deal for me, and the 328 is the perfect balance of twisty road performance and family-transport comfort.

Great feeling car!

Personally I loved my BMW 328i. It has a tight steering feel and the throttle response is great. It balances a great performance feel with a comfortable ride and an amazing interior.

Lots of fun, Until a repair is needed

I currently own a 2009 328xi, with about 80,000 miles. It is hands down the most enjoyable car I have ever owned. The car is fast, luxurious, and sporty, which is the best of both worlds. I purchased the car used and from day one I have encountered pretty hefty costs. I first brought the car to BMW for an oil change, and also learned I had two oil leaks. I got both of these repaired for just under $2K. I also had the water pumped fail on my way to work, which i had to get the car towed. This cost me $1200. Then while I was driving on the highway, the low tire pressure light came on. The tire did look low, but I couldn't find any sign of any damage. I bring the car to BMW and they notify me the rim had cracked. This was another $500 repair. Then on my way down to the outer banks (From NYC), I stopped and got gas at Exxon. What a mistake! I experience issues immediately after pulling out of the gas station, to where the engine light was on and the engine was misfiring. I drove to the closest BMW dealer and they told me the gas station gave me bad gas, which had also ruined the cylinder head cover, and the ignition coils. This repair costed me $3K and two days of my time, but Exxon did agree to pay for the repair and damage. It is a tank in any type of weather including snow and is a great summer vehicle. Overall when the car is running it is a blast to drive. If you are looking to buy one, bring car to BMW and have them do an entire vehicle check before purchasing, and be prepared to spend a lot on repairs. In the future, I would consider leasing the vehicle over buying the car due to the costly repairs.

Smooth. Quiet. Comfortable.

My 2009 BMW 328i with X drive is very dependable, easy to drive, and for only 230 horsepower, is rather fun to drive. I bought it for a very reasonable price and it is a very good value.

328i xDrive

Great balance of sporty ride and handling, refined comfort and classic styling. The inline 6 and 6 speed automatic transmission combine to give 21 city and close to 30 highway mpg. Amazing efficiency for such a well-balanced sports sedan.
