One of the most reliable cars I owned

This car met all of my needs. It's reliable. Got me point A to Point B with no problems. Drives smooth especially on a hot summer day with the sun roof open or the AC blowing feeling luxurious.

Perfect balance between Luxury and Sport!

Fell in love with this car instantly. For being a 2002 model year, it still is very modern and it has aged well. Very comfortable ride but also sport with its inline 6 engine. BMW is known for it's unreliability but this M54 engine is bullet proof and shows it as I had the car with 200k miles. Overall a fantastic car!

One of the Best Ever ; But Not Perfect

What a great car. Fast cruiser on the highway. Fast but not quick; there is a difference. Build this car new in 2018 and it would definitely benefit from an 8-speed automatic. Great highway mpg. Quiet and comfortable. Soft headrests are the best, like a Rolls. Ride quality is very good. Steering feel, brakes solid body structure; you feel safe. Basic service under the hood is well thought out - better than today's models. Leather is second rate. Cupholders are flimsey. Center armrest is rock hard. I use a towel as an elbow pad. Power window mechanisms go back within 5 years. Don't touch the sunroof. Adhesive for the sunroof and a-pillar fabric gives up in 10 years if you do not park in a garage. Carpet fades from beige to pink in ten years but overall it is superior to most modern cars and there is space to replace and ordinary head unit with a brand new after-market infotainment system for around five hundred dollars. You can get a very good example for less than $5K.

Stylish front end!

Love the dark grey color and the fact that is has the "manual" tranny option too! All the bells and whistles and definitely impressed for a 2002!

The BMW 5 Series SportWagon is the best car ever.

It is too bad the BMW does not import the 5 Series wagon any longer. Its size is so helpful in hauling lots of things while still handling like a BMW. This car has the M Package, Cold Weather Package and Premium Sound Package making it the best handling, most comfortable, best entertaining vehicle I have owned; and I have owned Mercedes, Porsches, Volvos, and a host of American makes.

Feels Like an Extension of my body

I bought a 2002 525i a couple of years ago as my weekend, and drive it to and from work from time to time. Unlike Mercedes which I have owned in the past. Mercedes do offer performance, but I feel Mercedes is more known for their luxury. My 2002 BMW 525i offers the best of both worlds... high performance machine that makes the curviest back roads easy to maneuver, but BMW also offers a luxurious look as well. I also feel most Mercedes are simply for mature people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s. Meanwhile the 525i looks great, but offers high performance that makes daily driving effortlessly. I love driving my Bimmer so much I am sometimes bummed out when I arrive home, or at work because I have to climb out of her, and no longer drive. In other words, I could drive my BMW 2002 525i forever. Lastly I feel like when I am driving down the street that my bimmer is simply and extension of my body. I've had no problems with my car other then just giving her routine maintenance etc. She especially loves it when her engine has high performance Mobil 1 Synthetic Oil used. You will not be disappointed with this car, and now that my son will turn 16 soon, eventually this car will be his daily driver. One more note I love the safety features of the Bimmer, and I feel safer knowing all bimmers offer the most state of the art safety features.

Great Car

I like BMW in general... Very nice car, handles great, fair power for the weight and the engine size i had a 1987 325, and 2001 325, my dad have a 2010 530I, the 2002 325 handling was the best but this 2002 handle as good as the 2010
