Once offered exclusively as a sedan, the CTS lineup has grown in the past few years to include a wagon and a coupe. All three body styles are available in V-Series performance versions, which carry the name CTS-V. Because of its size, the CTS, which seats four in coupe form and five otherwise, arguably competes both with BMW's 3 and 5 Series, Audi's A4 and A6 and Mercedes' C- and E-Classes.

I don't like this car.... I LOVE this car... LOVE!
I've owned Acuras for over almost 20 years, the most recent was a 2006 Acura RL which was a great car. I always admired the CTS Sedan and thought it would be a contender to replace the RL some day, but when the CTS Coupe came out I was hooked. Comparable to being in a room full of people and the love of your life walks into the room. Instant attraction. I use the analogy to justify the irrationality in buying a coupe given that the sedan was more practical, but as good looking as the sedan is, the Coupe is just flat out sexy. As with any attraction, usually the honeymoon wears off and you have to live with your decision, and I fully expected that once the initial attraction faded, I would have to make compromises on my upcoming relationship. I'm two weeks into the relationship so I'm probably still in the honeymoon phase, but I can safely say that the only area where I can't make a judgement yet on the compromise will be on long term reliability. That question will take a few years to be answered. That is the ONLY reason why I gave the car only three stars. Not because of any issues. So far though after 1,400 miles, no squeaks, rattles or post delivery issues. You couldn't always say that for the domestics even though the bar is pretty low right now. Where I thought I was going to make compromises and I didn't.... * Fit and finish - The car, inside and out rivals, and in many cases surpasses what I experienced in my previous Acuras * Technology - Comparable to my RL, but this is actually a credit to my RL as it was still technically relevant after over 6 years * Navigation system & Voice recognigtion - Technically this is part of the technology, but I wanted to call this out. Acura is known for making some of the best navigation units out there and their voice recognition flat out works. I thought I was going to be a step back for me and I almost didn't buy the car because of it (that's how much technology integration means to me). It would've been a shame if I hadn't because it all works in the CTS. There are some nuances that you need to figure out along with the voice commands, but suffice it to say that I was pleasantly surprised. * Performance - Comparable, actually better than what I expected. The car is deceiving. Drive it sedately and it has a smooth ride with just a hint of performance from the firm suspension. Sterring is almost over boosted. Toss it a little more aggressively and the sterring firms up, the car hunkers down and lets out a nice growl. Sure the CTS-V would have been better, but that would've set me back another $20K+ Areas where I thought I would compromise and I was right... * Back seat space - It's a coupe, I expected that. It's like dating Angelina Jolie and then complaining about all the attention she brings with her. Having said that, my kids pushed me to get this car too and they're the ones who will have to fold themselves in and out of the back seat, so when they complain I'll remind them that were just as effusive in my purchase of this car. Front seat occupants will have plenty of space. The seats are a bit firm and flat. A little more sculpting would've been nice and would've added to the Speed Racer image. You can always spring for the optional Recaro seats. * Pleasant surprises - Regular unleaded fuel after driving cars for 20 years that required Premium * Fit and Finish of the interior I purchased the the Premium AWD model with the Black Diamond Tricoat (extra charge) with Ebony interior. Cadillac or maybe my specific dealer (who shall remain nameless) could learn a thing or two from Acura about follow-up. Just a little post purchase butt-kissing in appreciation for plunking down close to $50 large for a car would've been nice. So in summary as I said before, this car is HOT. What would've made it hotter is if I was able to buy the CTS-V, but with $20K+ I saved, I can buy my kids their own cars for when they start complaining about the back seat. The best part about this is that my wife loves this car too! It's almost like you're wife approving that you're dating Angelina Jolie. Just kidding ladies....

impressed
I've been driving this car for 2 days and I'm pretty impressed. It accelerates smoothly and quickly and the steering is precise and comfortable. Living in upstate NY and having a recent snowstorm, the AWD also came in handy. The car is roomy and makes me feel safe without being too bulky. I overall really enjoy having the car so far. Things I don't love about it: I think the front grill is a little too gaudy and overstated, but that's just my personal opinion. The glove compartment is insanely small. Being a petite girl (5'1), even with the seat raised, it's hard to see out of the back while backing up because of the way the rear is designed.

CTS Coupe
I never thought I would be stating that I am a Cadillac owner. But, after seeing the CTS Coupe in various media outlets and on the roads, I finally had to test drive it. WOW! was I impressed. The only change I would make would be to purchase the V series, only for the reason that I want the exaggerated power. The 3.6 is great for every day driving, especially considering the MPGs and that it only requires regular unleaded; but the V would be nice for everyday "racing" around town!!!!!

Whinny engine
Absolutely love the car, but between 1500 and 200 RPM's it will sing to you. Can't imagine Cadillac would produce a car with this much engine/transmission noise. I've had it checked twice and the dealership says it is the way it is. If I had noticed while test driving it would have been a deal beaker. Considered Audi, BMW, Mercedes.

longtime A6 owner
I leased 5 A6s, but decided on the CTS AWD 3.6 loaded. I compared performance -- AWD performance, 35MPH-70MPH, and pickup between 80 MPH and 100MPH -- to the A6 in regular and sport mode. The CTS 3.6 is smooth, agile, but not as quick. However, passengers LOVE the ride. Certainly the CTS 3.6 is no dog, but just not as responsive. Looks are fabulous and luxury for the dollar is not comparable; hands down Cadillac. So far I am very pleased. A real comparison to Cadillac AWD and audi quattro awaits snow and ice.

outstanding car
Great car, Cadillac knows how to build luxury after owning the Cts. Very very comfortable, great looking, awesome features(especially the heated steering wheel). Performance and drive comfort are amazing. Also always getting compliments on it, Happy I decided on this car.
