Would not trade it for a 57 Belair 2 dr hardtop

I have owned two xlr' s to date and now planning on moving up to the V. Procrastinated several years considering the cost of the higher-octane fuel required by the V. Retired now so don't plan to drive so much, I am going to keep the 2007 limited edition base (250 made) I have now so I can still ride in stile on regular gas. The 2007 has 63K on it I have put brake pads on the front and replaced the AC compressor. You would do that with any car. The top is an engineering marvel. Everyone who has commented on the car thought it was new, OK, maybe not everyone, there are a few who know the car, all are envious. Such a hoot coming out of a store knowing you get to drive off in the best-looking car in the whole parking lot. Fun to drive is a gross understatement. For me, there was no need to put the super charger on this car. At a buck thirty, I got scared of what would happen if I hit a deer, it was still climbing when I backed out of it. I also have the 2002 red with black interior Eldo.

This car is a pleasure to drive

Perfect car when you want to forget about everyday things... Driving becomes a pleasure, not a necessity no matter if you are driving to the store or out on some country road.

A real looker.

I have owned 4 XLR's, 2004, 2007, and 2 2006's. I currently have a 2006. I have never owned a car that received so many looks, so many people saying they have NEVER seen one, and think it is brand new.

Beautiful House of Pain

Absolutely love the looks of this car and bought it based on looks alone. That was about 6 yrs ago and I've never seen another one since, which is just the way I like it. Problem is: you're buying a used Cadillac which means you'd better plan on spending a boatload of money to keeop it on the road. And God forbid the roof stops working, which it most likely will, because that probably burn about $8,000 to get fixed. On the other hand, if you're loaded, then get one for your collector car museum because this thing is a real head turner and I wish I still owned mine.... sort of.

What's not to love

I have been driving a 2005 for 10 years. I have driven across country 3 times. The ride is smooth and comfortable. Handles like a vet, but is Cadillac comfort all the way. Picking up my new 2006 tomorrow. Looking forward to another 10 years of fun!

Incredible, especially for the money

I could never afford this new and bought used for half price. Hand-built supercharged NorthStar was trouble free and ran out beyond expectations. The suspension is incredible and you can choose sport (basically Corvette) or normal (Cadillac). It rides better then a Vette and has more horsepower. Even though the car is 13 years old and is styled like new. People assume it is new and there is still a wow factor.

Futuristic car, with many features in 2019 cars.

My 2006 XLR only had 11k miles, better than new, with an expensive ceramic coating many collectors have applied to their collection cars. It drives and rides better than a new Corvette and any other roaster available in today’s market. I call mine a “Gentleman’s hot rod”. Beautiful crisp lines and great comfort. Being a retired design engineer there is very little I would change, even in today’s technology. Bluetooth and iPhone use & mapping with Google is about all that is needed to bring it up to 2019 standards.
