The almost perfect "practical" car.

The reinvented GM spent a lot of time designing this vehicle with the help of Daewoo et al, and I think we finally have an American compact sedan to be proud of. It's nearly flawless in concept, looks sharp, is obsessively safe, gets great gas mileage and is a very comfortable all-round vehicle. Another poster here summed up the few, minor flaws rather well: The dash storage compartment is useless, the temp control knob needs to be moved due to your knee hitting it, the vehicle needs a trunk control button besides what's on the keychain, and don't ever drop anything small between the seat and the center console as you apparently will never see it again. The vehicle is also a couple thousand too pricey, which I believe forces folks to consider an "upgrade" like the Malibu, etc. But overall it's a sold little car and I'm really curious how the longterm value/reliability will hold up. It could go down as a solid contender vs the Camry/Civic market, or it could be a typical "old school" US auto with a much shorter practical lifespan due to substandard build quaility. Time will tell, and those of us buying it now are part of a grand experiment. Yeehaw!

Lovin' the Cruze

Purchased LT with auto 1 month ago - put on 1200 miles - with about 1000 highway and the rest suburban driving. Overall mileage is at 36.5mpg, while highway has been from 38.5 to 46 depending on conditions - all have been without A/C on. I am 6-5 and fit very nice. Bluetooth and 1.4 is great - couldn't ask for more. Leasing for business travel. More storage in center console area is all I would ask for and maybe overhead storage for sunglasses. GM hit a home run with this one - now that it is proven, make a hatchback/coupe for the kids at a lower price and you will get more buyers! Considered a Focus and Corolla when looking.

Most fuel efficient car I've owned

The car runs very smooth and quietly. My favorite part about the car is there is a digital speedometer that tells you exactly how fast your going and also you use a trip meter and it will tell you information like exactly how many miles per gallon you were getting during that trip. It also tells how many miles till empty. The only thing I dislike about the LS model is that it does not have cruise control. Overall very nice car, and at an affordable price.

Cruzing in Memphis

I've driven the 12 Cruze Eco Automatic for 1700 miles in interstate, urban, and exurban environments. The car is smooth, exceptionally quiet, and comfortable. Overall MPG thus far is 39. Features I like best are 6 speed automatic, 10 air bags, hands free calling through bluetooth-On Star, roomy trunk, the balance of the entire car, & sonic alert for large objects near rear of the car. Best GM car I have owned. My complaints are more like quibbles: extend the console arm rest by 2-3 inches, move front cup holders to the front of the shifter for driver's convenience, move hvac thermostat control (driver's right leg easily bumps into it), needs a rear seat back angle adjuster, delete small storage area on top of dash board (useless), & add rear disc breaks to the eco.

Best Car For My Money

I recently purchased a 2012 Chev Cruze.I have the base model, but has great features. It has read out for 4 tire air pressure,Batt Voltage,Coolant Temp and all MPG info.I have the 6 speed manual transmission and with a 4cyl engine, I still have plenty of "Get up and Go".It handles extremely well on snowy/icy roads.I get 42 MPG Hwy @ 55mph and 38 MPG @ 65mph.The interior is very well designed and very comfortable.Plenty of space in rear seats and surprisingly large trunk space.I am very pleased with this purchase---I previously owned a Malibu Maxx SS.

Can't beat it

Excellent! That pretty well says it all. Nicely appointed, completely loaded LTZ with RS, There is not another vehicle around that has all the bells and whistles for the money. But the gas miles it what sets the record!

Good Choice

Very Good all around car, does things others do not do like lock itself, auto start, keyless, great sound system and Navigation. Love the way the MP3 works on the screen. We looked at VW, Honda, and a few others. The Cruze seemed to offer so much more and for a fair price pls it has the best safety rating of all. GM/Chevy has an awesome car here!!!!!!
