wife's sweet ride

bought this car new in may 06. just out for a ride, and came home with two vehicles. now has 82000 miles, without any problems. just keep servicing regularly! wife loves the ride and mileage, still around 32 in combined city/hiway driving. sorry it is gonna be discontinued in 2012 and replaced by a different model (that's about when we'll trade again.

Iconoclastic fantastic

I was one of the first to buy this in Connecticut when it came out in '06, bought the dealer's demo model off the lot with 17,000 miles on it. Now have 78,000 miles and drive it all over Michigan and the Midwest in all kinds of weather. It still turns heads, my favorite comment was a co-worker who said, "this is the perfect iconoclastic car for someone like you." Indeed. As someone who has had maintenance issues on other cars, the HHR is a delight. At 75,000 miles I asked if it was time to replace the timing belt and learned happily that it has a timing chain that goes the life of the car. Comfortable for a tall person to drive.

Loves to go

Over 50K and not a problem! This car loves to be on the road. The handling is superb. Nothing you would expect from a 'wagon'.

Functional & reliable - also kinda snappy

Have put 12000 miles on vehicle almost all on highway driving. Average MPG has been right at 30 which amazed me! Cute care; handles very well and surprisingly comfortable. Am 6'2" and have driven on 1500 mile road trip with no side effects. Would highly recommend.

Cute and efficient

This is the first new car I've owned. I love its size, smaller but lots of space on the inside. Gas mileage is great. I love the interior light that comes on when it gets dark outside. Very smooth ride, even in the back seat.

Neat little car for the money!

I have only one complaint I got the oversized wheels and tires 17" with the low profile tires! Which if you are into a soft ride forget it! When you get on the freeway with the washboard cracks in the cement it's a terrible ride! It's a dream to drive on regular roads though! It's a little noisy if you buy the LT with the 2.4 engine with the resinator on the muffler. If you're into a smooth ride make sure you get the 16" tires with the regular tire that come on the standard models and you will love the car! I think it's the neatest think since sliced bread! I would recommend this car to anyone!

sweet ride in Pa.

I love the turning radius of the hhr. She hugs the back roads of Northeast Pa. and the beaches of cape cod .Tons of room in the back , with the seats up or down. Good visibility out all the windows after I removed the headrests . 29 mpg up in these hills . pleasure to drive on the highway as well .Overall , pretty comfortable and very affordable . I have the 2006 in black . Heads up ..it needs to be washed alot . It's worth it ,though . It certainly turns heads and you will be approached by many folks wanting to talk to you about it . I've had my hhr (THE BLACK PEARL ), for over a year now and it has been very dependable and FUN !

Very comfortable

I really am enjoying my HHR. I can see small cars behind me (in my Fusion I couldn't) - the cars aren't hidden behind a center breaklight. The HHR is easy to get in and out of. It handles very well and drives smooth over bumps. The only thing I don't really like is the window controls are in the middle console area (above gear shift). I like the controls on the door. I've enjoyed it a lot!

much better than I thought it would be

I had liked the styling but after a test drive I was hooked. It is uite comfortable to ride in as well as drive I am A extra large person and I have atrhritis but I ride and drive quite comfortably in the HHR. There is a lot of cargo room, could haul 5 ft pices of plastic 36 inches wide with a little room to spare
