Rationale
Own a 2015 Spark 2LT Manual purchased new off the lot in September, 2015...I had already seen the 2016 update and didn't care for the new design. Still don't. Two things I see in other reviews I'd like to address right off.....acceleration and the a/c. This is a little car with a little engine but I've had absolutely NO problem keeping up with traffic, entering a freeway or keeping up on the open road. Zero problems. Maybe it's the manual, but again...if you know how to drive and how to time your merge...I don't see the problem. Again, not once in the almost 2 years I've been driving my Spark have I "feared" I might get run over or not been able to keep up or even "lead the way". As far as the AC goes...I live in Dallas. It gets very hot here in the Summer. No problem keeping cool. None. Zero. The car isn't perfect, but I'm very happy/content with my purchase. I did have a couple of "workmanship" issues @ purchase...a really annoying rattle in the front passenger door that took multiple trips to the dealer to finally resolve and the accessory roof rack cross rails I purchased started losing parts within a year of having them secured on the roof and the dealer refused to replace the parts under warranty. I'm far from thrilled with the dealership where I purchased it to the point of not trusting their service dept. but otherwise, besides maintenance and one recall over a warning chime I've had no other troubles. I'm averaging 33 mpg in primarily urban/city driving and so far the best mileage I've gotten on a tank of gas has been 44 mpg. I find the front seats not super-comfortable and I'm less a fan of the "motorcycle inspired" gauges as time goes by and I'd have preferred cloth seats vs the "leatherette" the 2LT has...but that's about it. I plan on keeping this vehicle until @ least 2020 and plan on purchasing another Spark if they "fix" the design elements I dislike in the latest model (2016). We shall see.

Chevy can do better...
I bought a 2014 Spark after my HHR hit high mileage. My first impression was great. Yes, it's tiny, not quit Smart Car tiny, but near it. It was cute, cool color, but the gas mileage was the big seller, near 30 mpg city. That's pretty awesome considering I spend a good part of my day on the road. So I test drove it. I first noticed that the interior (at least up front) was roomier than anticipated, not so much in the back. (I have a nine year old that's literally already outgrowing the rear seat and he's of average height/weight for his age range.) It road fairly smooth and the engine was quiet. The salesman refused to let me take it on the highway a short distance and I later found out why. Having never owned a car with such a small engine, I was unaware that they struggle to get up to speed. Even more so, if the A/C is running. This car struggles so much, Ice turned into that jerk that sits, waiting, for the largest possible opening to pull out onto a busy street because I know, this thing has NO GET UP AND GO...AT ALL. To the point that yes, it has made me fear for my safety on several occassions. No joke. You can not "floor it" in this car when you need to avoid getting hit or in attempt even to catch up with highway traffic. I asked about the issue when at the dealership on several occassions; thinking it can't be THIS bad even with a small engine. Most the service guys just laugh at me. So here's my pro's... it's definitely got great MPG, has lots of air bags, the bright green makes me more visible even at night, and it's cute. My con's... Extremely slow acceleration, little to no room for passengers (even children), terrible blind spots, if you hit a big bump while breaking; the break peddle literally bounces back up even with downward pressure (that's not scary at all :-/ ), the A/C has never been truly cold, and I simply do not feel safe in this vehicle. If I was one of those people that can afford to trade in my car every year or two, I'd trade this thing in a heart beat. But unfortunately I'm not one of those people and I can't afford to take a hit on a higher payment to get something I do feel comfortable and safe driving. So for now I'm stuck with this slow and tiny car. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Even the long distance traveler. I've always appreciated Chevy vehicles but I think Chevy can do better with this style car.

The little car who thought he could
Bought a 2015 Chevy Spark. Great gas mileage. Economical. Small...inside and out. Forget back seat space. Its either front seat gets space or back seat. No inbetween. Someones getting knee crunched. Barely made it up a step hill in 2nd gear. Had to keep shifting between 1st and 2nd. Went 15mpg with rpms maxed. It struggled. You pay for what u get. We gave dubbed our Spark...the little car who wants to be a suburban someday...haha

Chevy Spark with +- 25,000 miles. Rental.
Car really only moved when revved above 4500. Keeping it on the boil became something of a chore, constantly sawing the manual transmission in a futile attempt to keep pace with the traffic. During a foolish experiment I found that at 100 mph it seemed to have amazing pull, though the skittish handling left me with nightmares that will require therapy in years to come. At more reasonable speed I revved the engine past 6,000 in every gear. There was a sweet spot somewhere between 'will it explode?' and 'that's more like it!'. Granted this was in a country where people drive fast, and pottering around suburbia should not necessitate such extreme action. In it's defense the car developed a during my rental period and was returned with a deeper scream and more free-revving personality. And no matter how I drove it positively sipped fuel. That part was incredible.

1LT trim level cute car
Pro: Good fuel milage, body styling nice. My wife thinks it is cute. Easy maneuverability. Has WiFi. Front is roomy. Sound system nice. Great car for city driving. Con: Car is light and some road noise invades the interior of the vehicle when on the highway. Road noise is easily removed by elevating the sound system volume slightly. Armrest are not adjustable. Lack of armrest on passenger side. Cup holder in center console are too small.

just what I was looking for
I love this little car. I was looking for a Honda Fit and tried one of these out while at a car dealership and I just fell in love. Easy to handle and great on gas. I love the heated seats and clear view of all dials.

I Love This Car
We just purchased the 2015 Chevy Spark 4 weeks ago and we absolutely love it. I was very impressed how smooth and quiet it drives. It handles well on the road and the steering is awesome. Love all the features it comes with too. Touch screen for audio, hands free phone connection etc...great mileage, has the comfort and elegance of a more expensive car. Thank you Chevy for this wonderful and safe vehicle.

Loud and Rattles
I'm renting this car and it's loud, feels like the wheels are going to fall off. I'm small, 5'6" and yet to reach things it's as if I was supposed to be 4'5". It's as if someone was told "design a clown car, and make it as awkward as possible". The back seats lean almost forward as to rob anyone of relaxing for a little bit. You will need to really push the gas to get on the highway, this is one of the least powerful cars on the Market at around 80hp, and boy does it rattle, shake and roll. The radio is maddening, the tuner isn't intuitive and makes no logical sense. This is as if that guy that designed the Citation came back for another go. There are three positives 1)Leather like seats and better than average steering wheel. 2)You'll never have difficulty knowing the speed as the speedometer is almost in your face. 3)It's a rental car and eventually I'll get my old car back.

Great car for everything except driving
I just rented this for a few days to putter around Denver and have put some miles on it. I am impressed with certain features, especially for the price, but cannot recommend it based on the CVT. Pros: The interior is basic, but thoughtfully laid out. I find it to be comfortable, basic, but not cheap feeling. I like the look of the exterior, a little bit edgy, but quite versatile. For the money, all of this is surprisingly nice. Cons: One big one - the CVT is horrible. I own a Subaru Outback with a CVT (so I know they can be decent), this one is just laughably bad. It seems to be primarily a gearing issue where the computer can't figure out how to set the ratios properly. A little more time and effort on the CVT would have made a world of difference for this car. If not for that, I would say this is a steal at the price.
