2016 Ford C-Max Energi consumer reviews

I bought my 2016 Cmax energi SEL in 2021 with 40k on it. After a year, I now have 60 k driven over the Rockies 3x and Cascades x2 and use it locally for drives from 40 to 70 km average. I use a 220 volt charger. The best mileage comes when the weather is between 15-20C. when I averaged 3.6L/100km. This is not the most fuel efficient hybrid, nor is it the worst, but bang for buck and enjoyable ride ...it's great! Driving in the city is best on electrical mode, sometimes I get +50 km on a charge, but mostly around 35 km. A tank of fuel, (55l) can last 800-1000 km of driving. Driving is fun! Very easy to pass other vehicles on the highway without worrying. Hard to tell when the vehicle shifts between electric and ICE. Lots of headroom and space for back seat passangers. I can pack the back with lots of stuff....yes..the battery takes up room, but I always get stuff in. Build quality is okay, noticed a few glitches in parts fitting together and I did have the AC wire harness fall apart. Bottom line....I love this car and it saved me tons of money in fuel costs

Bought this car used. Have had it a year. Better seating than my Mercury Grand Marquis. Reliable even in Northern Maine winters. Great heater, great handling. Dirt cheap to run! Quiet on the road.

The car drives great. The inside is fantastic I love that you can change the color of the floor lights. The electric range is a little less than advertised I usually get 15 miles of range out of a charge. The size is fantastic small and easy to park but vary roomie inside. 3 people in the back is a little tight though.

I love the design of this car, it has a great engine, I rarely have to buy gas and it's incredibly roomie despite its compact size

Drives like a non-Hybrid, plenty of power (for a non sports car) Very comfortable on long trips, cargo space is limited, but OK. NOT a single problem!

I purchased this car because it is a great gas sipper but it is comfortable and fun to drive also.It fits all my needs.A great car to consider.

This car was my way of exploring if going all electric was a viable option for me. Having three types of 'gas' eliminated any range anxiety I had, but still gave me an indication of whether or not an all electric would work for my family. The end result, the next car for me is the all electric. The timing didn't work for me to stick with Ford, so I'm moving onto a Nissan Leaf, and will keep an eye out for the future Ford all electric models on the horizon. But I'm an all electric convert for life, and my Ford CMax Energi made that so.

I appreciate the little arrow designating gas door. I forget where it is when you get 90 miles to the gallon. When commuting to work, they would plug it in for a fresh 18 miles in Electricity.

I'm very happy with this PHEV. It's too soon for me to move to an electric. I would lease it again. I'll probably lease another PHEV when my lease is up next year.
