Nice Vehicle but Limited

I picked up my new Lightning a couple of weeks ago. Very nice ride and the acceleration is incredible. My truck tops out at 106 mph and reaches top speed fast. The biggest issue I have is the maximum mileage I’ve seen on recharging is 277 even though 320 is advertised. I see no way this truck will go 320 miles on a charge. It takes a little while to get used to the 15.5” screen operation. I believe all electric vehicles have limitations. I live 20 miles from a red light in the country and will always own a F-250 diesel for towing. Overall the Lightning is fun to drive and rides well. The road noise is less in the Lightning than Teslas I’ve drove.

Negative reviews are just sour grapes

Went on reservation list May 2021.Ordered in January 2022. Delivered in August 2022. Best truck I've owned. Performance is amazing and rides like a $100k luxury car. 800 mile road trip was relaxing. One Electrify America location was a problem, the rest were amazing. FordPass works great. I understand the frustration with being able to buy one but that has nothing to do with the quality of the vehicle and the ownership experience.

What a truck!

Incredible truck top to bottom. The power is unreal with instant torque making easy 0-60 times of 4 seconds or less. The suspension provides a smooth ride and all the tech is here and includes just about everything you'd need and then some. Super comfortable seats and interior appointments with amazing storage and utility.

Android on wheels

The touch screen navigation is slow, and the electrify America chargers are unreliable. Good performance, but interface needs lots of work. Overpriced, and dealer games with markups as well. beware

Ford Lightning

I have had my Lightning Platinum now for 2 weeks and love it, only waited I week for the truck. I went in the dealership and told them ill buy the next canceled order I got a call 1 week later with this truck, didn't want the platinum but had no choice if I wanted the truck, everyone is telling me I can get 30k over MSRP. Am keeping it and using it for work

Ford’s Racket

Ford used deceptive trade practices in the pricing and sales of their Ford Lightning pickup truck. Pricing for the popular vehicle was released in January 2022. Very few individuals were able to purchase the truck at advertised price with many buying them for drastic markups of 20-30%. Those that ordered the truck as early as August, 2021 are now being told they will be buying 2023 models with a 17% price increase from the factory, since the original pricing less then a year ago. My story below, one of thousands like it, will detail how Ford used deceptive pricing to entice the market to buy a product that Ford never intended to sell at that price. I became very interested in the Ford Lightning pickup in early 2021 as reports of great capability and price made it very appealing. I placed a deposit of $100 with Ford in August of 2021 to hold my place for a vehicle. Pricing was announced in January, 2022 with the model I wanted, extended-range Lariat model, being around $75K. As of today, I do not have an estimate on when my truck will be ready for purchase. On August 8, 2022 I found a similar model, with 3 miles on it, at Eide Ford in Bismarck, ND advertised online for the Ford MSRP of $72,000. I immediately called the dealership and offered to wire the money immediately, only to be told that the published price on their website was a mistake and the vehicle is in fact $89,000 as they forgot to include the “market adjustment”. The story of both me ordering a truck to receive years later at a 17% price increase and the failure of the Ford dealer to sell me the truck at both Ford’s and Eide Ford Dealers advertised price shows Ford’s intent to never actually sell the vehicle at the advertised price. I am a member of a Ford Lightning social media group with 7,000 members and a very small percentage of buyers have been able to purchase the truck near Ford’s advertised price. Ford intentionally advertised a low price initially to raise interest in the vehicle with great success, approaching 200,000 reservations in early 2022. Like me, almost all of those that ordered the truck and thousands more that saw the advertising will never be able to purchase the vehicle anywhere near the advertised price Ford and its dealers used to generate interest in the vehicle. Ford should be held accountable for bait and switch practices just like any other business.

Honest Appraisal

Nothing like a 2nd mortgage when the first is only 288 months away from clearing the books. Looks great and has the ability to create and sustain any family argument imaginable.

F150 Lightning is fantastic!

Had my Lightning Lariat for about 2 weeks now. Purchased it though Jacky Jones Ford in Sweetwater, TN. Great Experience with the dealership and Kathleen "the Truck Lady" No games and Great communication. The vehicle is comfortable and great to drive. Most of all I love not having to pull into the gas pump in this days of $5 a gallon gas.
