Awesome truck

I love this truck ever since I got it. Runs strong is clean inside and out. Just an awesome truck handling wise it's smooth. The truck looks really good for a used 2006 got it for a steal at 14,000 had to do some minor maintenance to it once I picked it up but other than that truck is in good shape.

Great all around truck

This truck is excellent for towing and work. It cleans up great for nights on the town and the power to pull anything you put behind it.

Great Truck... Shaky Reputation

Design flaws cause the oil circulators to clog up and break down. Obviously not repairing this creates problems which can cause the heads to damage and break head bolts later. My truck has great torque and runs fine as long as it is babied. Bullet-proofing the engine is really needed to make engine more reliable. I wish Ford would increase interior padding and work on noise reduction inside the passenger compartment. It's hard to hear the radio without blasting away at your ears.

2006 F250 CC V10

Looked for a F250 for quite awhile and finally found this one with the front end styling I like on the Ford. Excellent pickup and interior quality even at 11 yrs old. The V10 motor is rock solid and the truck gets plenty of thumbs up.

2006 F250 6.0 diesel

This year & model is one of the best values on the market. Ford worked through the poor design issues by 2005. If you research statistical facts, it has a good reputation in comparison to the earlier 7.3 and 6.4 or 6.7 which are heavily laiden with increased emissions designs. Most people just report on a single truck issue without considering the number of good performing trucks on the road. Just don't add aftermarket computer tuning chips, use synthetic oil change at least every 7000 miles. Clean out your egr valve every oil change and replace oil and fuel filters at recommended intervals. Keep good coolant cap on the truck and change coolant about every 30,000 miles which is much shorter interval than recommended. I have almost 300,000 miles on my 6.0 with standard components and I monitor engine oil heat, coolant heat and trans temp with a onboard gauge. Oh, use good quality diesel fuel additive on each fill up.

Don't buy a Ford

My sister bought last Jan a 06 Ford F-250 6.0 liter V8. I did my research on these trucks. I was hoping when we got the truck that it had its problem already and we did not have to deal with it. This past summer we put in a EGR Cooler in to the truck. I just had it in this past week and found that the Engine oil cooler and the EGR cooler are shot. I don't have the money to be fixing Ford problem. Now i face fixing the damm thing or tradeing?

FORDS F-250 KING RANCH 4WD CRW CAB DIESEL

My wife and I purchased this Ford F-250 at Crencore in Goodletsville, Tn.. The 2006 King Ranch has a 6.0 Diesel engine and for that reason we took out extended warranty but with the truck being over 100,000 miles we bought the most coverage so as not to worry about the majority of engine, drive train etc. I have run into mixed feelings on the 6.0 diesel but the bottom line is don't plan on aftermarket things for the engine because after the EGR the head bolts are the most critical and so when and if you have to do a replacement have the head bolts improved at the same time and save money. Thats it as for problems, Ford mechanic told me keep the oil changed, turbo filter clean and changed and some injector fluid every few tanks at fill up and keep fat tires rotated to keep from feathering and she should run many thousands of miles.. I will add to this review at some point later after owning this beauty I'm gonna call BEAR cause its brown and has the power of a bear after I see how things go for just an average joe who will be doing some traveling in it.. Love the look and feel, sitting up higher , great secure feeling...

2006 F-250 Diesel

I've put about 2000 miles on the truck since purchased. Third owner. Clean carfax report. This is the first Ford and first truck I've owned. So far so good.

6.0 is bad and Ford knows it

I bought mine Brand new. Was so excited to get my first diesel truck to pull my Fifth wheel. Performance was so much better than the old 460 I had. Until 30,000 miles when my first turbo went. And to the others out there who say take care of it, I did changing oil on Fords recommendation. Luckily still under warranty and Ford fixed it. 2 other guys I work with also had 2006 and their turbos went at around 70,000 miles. When my truck got to 68,000 I sold it. The guy who bought it had it for 3 months and at 80,000 the turbo went again. Ford wanted 5,000 to fix it. When I talked to the local dealer about these problems they had 3 other turbos all 2006 in the shop. And as I was their another came in. Yes Ford knows about the problems with the 6.0 and the dealer I talked with, Ford dealer, told me he would advise everyone against buying a 6.0
