Transmission went out at 50,000 miles.
Transmission went out at 50,000 miles. Rack and pinon front end went out before warranty was up dealer would not cover it. Engine been sputtering and burning anti freeze for years can’t go long distance for fear truck won’t make it. Body all rusted up for no good reason never went out in snow because 2wd drive couldn’t get out of driveway. Never could pass inspection when it was new cost hundreds to get evap system replaced due to another lemon system on truck. Then the power steering system cooler which is another gimmick cost more than the power steering pump to replace. Just a useless add on to cost people money.

Am I the only one that has had the instrument panel
Am I the only one that has had the instrument panel completely fail? Mine did YEARS ago. So why is my reliability rating 5? The computer still works, I know how fast I'm going, the Miles remaining on the fuel economy is accurate, and it runs. Everyday. Replaced one hub and bearing, water pump, starter, ignition. A/C doesn't work, but I've got windows (which work if you know exactly where to push the button.) Oh, and the Engine light is always on, because the throttle body really needs a thorough cleaning or replacing. Motor and transmission have been crazy reliable for 20 years on truck bought new October '0 3. Nothing a few hundred dollars wouldn't fix. Though there are several of those, they don't keep me from getting from A to B.

Best truck, so good I’ve got second one
Bought truck brand new with 9 miles on it other than two water pumps and one fuel pump which were my fault for running on fuel. I haven’t had any complaints other than the guy on the dash peeled off minimal 53 runs great at 200,000 miles reprogrammed truck at 500 miles gets 20 to 22 miles a gallon down the highway as long as you’re on supreme runs great never left me stranded best truck I’ve ever owned I’m in search of another one similar same body style, but a three-quarter ton now but plan on keeping this is long as I can just purchased a brand new 5.3 to put in it when this one wears out it’ll keep going had minor issues with the dash gauges, light one out and a couple of gauges. No big deal, I also have an 03 Chevy Tahoe but it had all of the problems in the Insta rebel had panel replaced $600. No other issues. Great track Holly

Hated this truck
Nothing but issues. Owned for less than a year and 30L60E Trans went out. Spend $2000 to replace that. Then a bunch of wiring issues, including the dash. Dash stopped working so I would have no idea how much gas I had, how fast I was going, etc. Got a speeding ticket from the stupid thing because I wasn't sure of my speed. 4x4 switch had issues. Nothing but problems. Worst vehicle I had ever owned.

Reliable As Can Be
Bought my 03' Sierra 1500 as a first vehicle. It was an extended cab with the 5.3 litre Vortec. After 245,000 miles I have had VERY FEW ISSUES, though I am the second owner and don't know of any issues prior to my purchase. During my time with it, I have only had to replace the 4X4 actuator ($500), headlight bulbs (typical), ball joints, and the rear U joint on the driveline. The motor has given me ZERO problems nor has the transmission. The interior has held up well with only a few small things like the coating on the dash peeling (has been very minimal). Only complaint is that the 5.3 litre is a little underpowered. I find that it frequently has to downshift when ascending in a canyon on a light gradient. However, this could be in part due to the age and milage on the motor. Overall I rate this vehicle as excellent!

Not as advertised
The picture the dealer posted made this vehicle sparkle! When I got there to test drive it, not so much. It was dusty and dirty. There was a spot 9-12 inches on the hood where the paint was damaged. I started it up and the check engine light was on. When I asked they told me the knock sensor was out but they had one on order and would put it in. I drove 75 miles to look at and test drive this truck and was very disappointed.

Nice Truck
This truck would have met my needs. I really like the exterior color of the truck. I'm not real big on leather interiors but it wasn't in too bad of a shape for being a 2003. Both the driver and passenger seat were electric with heated seats and position memory for 2 settings. The owner was not very willing to negotiate otherwise I would now own this truck.

This truck died before it reached 100k.
I never owned a vehicle that did not make it at least 100,000 miles. The transmission stopped working. The instruments on the dash worked sometimes and sometimes not.
