We love our 2007 Honda Pilot EX-L(with Nav)

Prior to owning our Honda Pilot we had a Ford Expedition. After having our Pilot now for 3-4 months, I will never buy another Ford. The fit and finish of the Pilot is hands down better quality than most vehicles of comparable price. The fuel economy is great especially when equipped with the variable engine management system. We absolutely love this vehicle, I can't wait for my wife to be done with school so we can purchase the Nissan Armada that she wants and I will finally have the Pilot all to my self....that day is coming. Once you drive the Pilot you will not want to look any further. Happy vehicle hunting!

Pilot is good but Odyssey provides better value

I own a 02 Odyssey EXL and a 07 Pilot EXL-Navi. The Odyssey provides better value in terms of size, comfort, cost, cargo room and gas mileage. The Pilot is fun to drive but feels cramped when bringing the kids (I have two). The kids seem to always complained about the lack of room compared to the Odyssey. Also, the Pilot is really not a 8 passenger SUV like they claimed. The third row is incredibly tight and hard to get into. Another thing, with the third row seat up in the Pilot you have no trunk space for strollers, groceries, luggages, etc... In conclusion, when travelling with the family, Odyssey is the way to go. Pilot is nice when travelling alone or with the missus.

Best Vehicle I ever owned

We bought the car in Jun 2007. As of December 2007, it now has 12 k mile on it with no problems. Excellent pickup handling and room. We have averaged 17-19 mpg. We do not use it to tow and have made several long distance trips. The person who compared the gas mileage to his truck with a Cummings engine did not mention that the Cummings is a diesel engine and is inherently more efficient than a gas engine. The Pilot is a great family vehicle. It is not meant for heavy off roading or heavy towing. It has demonstrated terrific handling in ice and snow.

Outstanding build quality

Before buying this car, I looked at a couple other brands, Nissan, Toyota, and Chevy. The Pilot beat them hands down. Nice tight, well built, interior and exterior. Great textures in the interior, comfortable seats, outstanding space utilization. Option this one out correctly and you can undercut an Acura by $5000 and have basically the same vehicle--probably better looking, too. We got caught in the snow/ice in New Mexico last January and this thing was one of the few vehicles still moving. During that one trip the Pilot paid for itself. Add decent fuel milage (regular unleaded gas, too), fail-safe reliability, and the performance, and you have a winner.

My Pilot

This vehicle gives me peace of mind for my family. So many options! So comfortable! Saves gas compared to most mid-sized SUV's in the market.

Nice SUV, but way over hyped

Have new 2007 Pilot EX-L with Nav. Unquestionably a good car with a very smooth engine. However, interior road noise is very pronounced compared to the Toyota Highlander. Actual fuel mileage is no where close to advertised. I had the dealer install the Honda receiver hitch which requires a transmission cooler (makes sense) and a power steering cooler (huh!). All this adds up to over $1,000 with good negotiating. Now I know why the power steering pump cooler...when towiing a small enclosed Motorcycle trailer, loaded weighing 1,700 lbs., the Pilot engine is running at 4,000 RPM most of the time. This is a light trailer...and the Pilot gets 11 MPG pulling it. I pull the same trailer with a 7,000 lb. Dodge Cummins and get 18! I'll go back and stick with Chevy Suburbans and my Dodges!!!

Fantastic SUV

We have owned our Pilot for 3 months and love it even more now than when we purchased it. Originally planning to purchase a CRV, but preferred the Pilot. Drives super solid, smooth and rattle free. Hope to keep it in the family for many years. Gas mileage could be better, however, the Pilot is a pretty big vehicle. Averaging about 15 in the city. Planning a trip next week of about 700 miles. Hope the mileage is between 23 or 25 mpg. Feel safe in the Pilot. Vehicle feels planted to the ground. Can not wait till the road trip.

Best Car I've Ever Had

This is the fourth Honda I've had. Although I have been very happy with all of them, the Pilot has been my favorite. It has everything including a reasonable price. One of the things that I always appreciate about Honda vehicles is how superior the interiors are compared to other cars in their class. But that is just one small thing about the Pilot I love. All the good reviews and test results are true -- this is a great vehicle.

WOW WOW WOW!!!! What else can I say!!!

This car is the best car I have ever owned. Despite the fact that I have always been an owner of Honda's, I have been waiting for Honda to get ride of the Passport(built by Isuzu) and built an SUV in TRUE HONDA FASHION, well my friends they have done it. We purchased our 2007 Honda Pilot about two months ago, and yes it did take me 4 years to go to the Honda dealer to buy this car, I was stuck in an American SUV which I might add was a mistake that lasted 4 years. But back to the Pilot, the ride is so smooth and quite it is amazing. The interior of the Pilot is best in class. The Pilot has lots of power, and room. We just took our Pilot on a little road trip to south Texas, and everything about the Pilot was GREAT!!! The Pilot has all the features you would want in an SUV without the huge price tag. Driving this car must be what it feels like to drive a 70,000 Lexus SUV.
