2006 Jaguar S-Type consumer reviews

I own the 2005 jaguar S type 4.2V8 for 13 years. I drove it until it had 215,600, and it still drives like butter! I had to replace the water pump at 64k mile, radiator at 110k, timing chain, serpentine belt, and gasket at 125k. After that, it's been routine oil and brake changes. I recently retired it to my garage and I'm about to donate it to colleague at work, but I'm looking for another to buy now since I'm considering donating. Such an amazing vehicle that has done me well. I have no regrets irrespective, of the little challenges I had incurred, owning this vehicle. I could go through with it again.

Found a well loved, pristine, garaged 80,000 mile example, belonging to two previous owners. Power from the V6 automatic is adequate for highway traffic situations that call for pro active control. I have owned and driven a few true Cadillacs, 1952-62-64-69-78. This Jaguar beats them all overall. Being prepared to work on it DIY is a comforting situation but many pro repair costs are the same or less than other cars. Considered dozens of BMW and Mercedes cars after owning both but this still undervalued Jaguar s type is a lot of bang for your buck in great condition.

Some people may think I am crazy because I bought a 14 year old Jaguar S-Type V6. But who cares? Jaguars are often owned by people who don't really think about what others may think of them or the cars they drive. They just drive those cars to enjoy, to love, and yes, some keep them until they die :-) I ‘d say Jaguars are for those who appreciate some finer things in life, those who have a good sense of style and class; for those who don’t need to prove anything to anyone anymore (they’ve done it already). S-Type is not the fastest or a finest Jaguar around but it is a classy car that unmistakably looks like a Jaguar (no offence to newer models). I personally like the feel of a steering wheel made of some good quality wood and leather. The car is quiet on road with a good performance. Get one and enjoy!

Very reliable, and comfortable riding car.very sporty, clean inside and out. New tires,no rust,no holes or cracks in seats,very strong motor,and trans.Clean caroet,no burns,no stains,new car smell.

This Jaguar is an excellent example of engineering that provides 400HP and effortless fast performance without the unnecessary noise! Comfortable with plenty of seat adjustment. It's a classy vehicle that will probably be iconic to the Jaguar marque. The S-Type R is actually quite rare and will probably become a collector's item. In fact, only 1275 of the R type we're produced. The beautiful curves of the S-Type body are somewhat timeless and sets the car apart in a world of Lexus look alikes! The graceful lines and classy appearance give you a vehicle that raises your status when you pull in the parking lot.

Selected for it fine riding ,great detail, the bells and whistles , nice sound system, a bit pricey on repairs.

this car must be new and use for 4or 5 years. after that is a non stop travel to the repair shop. Car for reach people.

Bought used with only 22000 miles , but 10 years old.nicest car I ever owned. Unfortunatel my son in law borrowed it and wrote it off.Thankfully, he was fine.
