I have a 05 inline 6 cyc.

I have a 05 inline 6 cyc. Jeep Wrangler best vehicle I have ever owned. Will go anywhere just not too good on gas. I love to drive it.

Not that reliable

Bought the TJ used with 121,000 km and in seemingly good condition apart from rusted fenders and floor. Like the vehicle but the OPDA problem is significant. According to Chrysler bulletins stating what production date vehicles were subject to the OPDA problem, my TJ did not qualify. The OPDA gear on mine was nearly worn completely, I had major bucking problems and found out the cause on the internet, not via a Chrysler recall. I bought a new OPDA on the internet from a recognized supplier of a good replacement part. I am not sure if the cam gear is damaged. The engine seems to run reasonably well but the engine timing was quite tricky. I don't trust my TJ for long distances. I own a 2007 Liberty and a 2001 Cherokee Sport (176,00 km) and both have been very reliable. I have also owned a 2006 Liberty, a 1992 Cherokee Sport and a 1984 CJ and all were good reliable vehicles.

Off Road performance is great

Great around town as the short steering radius allows very easy parking and the short length for negotiating traffic. Not so great on fuel economy as it has the 4.0 inline 6 engine.

The best of a legend.

For the 2005 model year Jeep offered the Jeep Wrangler with a special edition Willys package. The package included a special metallic olive green paint and olive green soft top. Inside of the Wrangler were seats dressed in iconic woodland BDU camouflage. Wranglers of this variety are easily identified by the Willys logo on the front quarter panel, black settle wheels, and typically a sticker package reminiscent of the early Willys MB and Ford GPW. The venerable 4.0L I6 engine comes standard offering undeniable reliability and low-end grunt expected of the standard barrier of offroad vehicles. The Rubicon of this generation is undeniably the GOAT, but the 05 Willys is a highly desired and unique offering. Personally speaking out of all the vehicles I’ve owned this will always be my favorite.

still going in 2020

got this vehicle in 2014. was in good condition. had to get a new clutch plate installed. and a new water pump. i changed the spark plugs, and do all the regular maintenance. i replaced the plactic tubing on the engine wiring. because it was old and falling off. the opda came loose and caused the infamous xxxxxx scream in the front of the car. fixed that by tightening the bolt holding it to the housing. bought some new 34 inch tires after the stock ones wore out took 3 years for them to wear out of constant driving. the interior is still good. the soft top is still in very good condition. though the zipper on the back panel has a slight problem. the previous owner created a problem with the electrical system and designed an aftermarket switch in the dashboard that does nothing but drain the battery. i haven't bothered to fix it. i probably will in the next year or so. other than that everything is good. got 160,000 miles on it and it runs like a champ and goes anywhere like a beast. would definitely recommend as a vehicle to buy if you need something that is going to last the rest of your life.

Love this TJ

I give my Wrangler five stars in every category except comfort for obvious reasons...we don't consider comfort when buying one. This rig meets or exceeds my expectations where it counts and that is why I rated it so high. Essentially, it's what you expect that matters. The great thing about Jeeps, especially the TJ is the personalization factor and the fact the average person can work on them. That's right, you don't need to be a major gearhead to tinker with them. All it takes is tools and access to the internet. If you are looking for something that will open you up to an entirely unique culture that are Jeepers, then I highly recommend you pick one up.

Hteat sand car 12000 sand miles

For a almost square layout ride is great not a quiet vehicle, rough off road ride (sand dunes). Considering weight and 4wd good mileage. Back seat hard to get into.

Most fun available on four wheels!

2005 Jeep Wrangler in good condition, hard top runs great lots of fun! I bought it three years ago for 10G as a project and instantly put 6G into it to make it road worthy for my daughter to use for a while. I have since put another 4G into over the last 3 years in basic maintenance. She put 25,000 fun miles on it. While I dreamed of turning it into an off road project car when she went off to school. I have two new in box front fenders. They are primed but not painted. I haven't gotten to changing them out and don't mind the rusty ones really but the new ones are included and one guy with a phone, u-tube and a ratchet set can do it in a weekend. My daughter is off to college and I can't afford to make this into the project I want it to become so...gotta let go of the dream. I am getting a Tacoma and the dealer offered me 6G trade which was right on with Kelly Blue Book value. I'm waiting for a month before I buy so I figured I would test the private market KBB price to see if I couldn't recoup a little more.

This Jeep meet all my needs and we enjoyed it without the top. Provided enjoyable and safe drives with the new aftermarket light. Aftermarket parts are new and provide safety for off roading.
